La freccia di Winter

Rate this book

Scappate, lupi.

I'm not usually into fairy tale "retellings," or retellings of any kind actually...and it felt out of place to do a fairy tale retelling in the middle of an omegaverse/shifter series. But no matter. I really wanted to continue this and, luckily, the Snow White elements didn't overwhelm the omegaverse/shifter elements, which was my main concern.

All in all, I really enjoyed this. I've said it before and I'll continue to say it: I just love omegaverse books AND shifter books. I will forgive a lot of things in exchange for either of those elements. And I'm really enjoying that this series combines the two AND has the added post-apocalyptic angle to boot.

Hoping to enjoy the next one as well.

Sizzling Snow White and the Huntsman post zombie apocalypse!

This was a very strange and somewhat wonderful post apocalyptic world. It is Earth broken up into sectors, there were some American cities mentioned that I recognized so it is in the not to distant future, but much of the human race has been decimated by the zombie virus, though some communities of humans do still survive.

However this Sinister Fairy Tale centers around wolf shifters, who are immune to the virus. Though Zombies still can feed on shifters, they can’t spread the virus to them. So the shifters clear out the Zombie nests wherever they are found. This tale begins in the Winter Sector where the engagement of beta Princess Snow to Alpha Enrique is being announced by Queen Vanessa, who took over as queen of the Winter Sector and has been mentor to the princess since her parents passed away.

The Sector Alpha from the Norse Sector, sends his second in command, Alpha Kazek to attend the festivities and to see if he can determine what is going on since nobody really trusts Queen Vanessa and it seems strange that she would want Princess Snow to marry another Alpha. Then they would become King and Queen since the princess is the rightful heir to the throne. Being a beta, the princess could never have the throne on her own without marriage.

The day before the wedding, Snow overhears Vanessa and Enrique Plotting to kill her, so she and her seven guardians find a way for her to escape by stowing away on one of the ships. She hides on Alpha Kazek’s ship and he finds her after he lands. Though it seems that Vanessa has been more duplicitous than anyone could have imagined.

This book is super steamy and the romance is over the top hot. Though it takes the Alpha, Beta, Omega thing a bit too far in my opinion. I know that they are wolf shifters and supposedly that domination, submission and all that, especially sexually is supposed part of the nature of the beast. However, aren’t shifters also part human with working brains also, and this is supposed to be in the future not in the past.

**Pet Peeve Alert** So the whole punishment or humiliation of someone for speaking your mind just because you stand up to someone more “Alpha” than you. When they can’t get the same kind of punishment for doing the same things to you is ridiculous to me. I just hate that kind of thing. It is one thing if it is just fun in the bedroom between two people but if it is in public and the punishment is in front of everyone, I don’t like it. It isn’t democratic or fair and that shouldn’t be how any society is based in an intelligent world.

Other than that, this book was terrific, so I am only going to take one point away for that which also includes the time when Kazek rubbed his seed all over Snow, now known as Winter, and they walked all around his sector naked so that everyone could know at she was his. Oh yes. That happened!

I voluntarily read & reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts & opinions are my own.

This was such a great read and I was glued from the second I picked this up reading this in one sitting.
This author consistently delivers and is now a definite one-click for me.
This one is set in the same world as Andorra Sector and is also in the sinister fairy tales series but is also a complete unrelated standalone and can be read as such.
It’s a loose Snow White retelling that is set in a dystopian omegaverse future complete with wolf-shifters.
Snow Frost of winter sector is in danger from her fiancé and her guardian the queen of Mirrors.
Smuggled out of her sector on the eve of her wedding for her own safety by her protective seven she finds herself seeking sanctuary.
Alpha Kazek of Norse sector is a made wolf and the former assassin the huntsman.
He is the wolf that sniffs her out mating her and saving her life in the process ultimately bringing this little omega to heel.
In saving her he reluctantly shoulders her responsibilities.
Kazek despite his Alpha status prefers being a lone-wolf and answering only to himself and his sector alpha.
But with his new mate being the rightful ruler of Winter sector this is no longer an option for him and he will need to do whatever is necessary to achieve their success even if this is something he initially shy’s away from.
Snow or Winter as she reinvents herself as is also embracing a whole new reality one she at first struggles to accept and though initially, stubborn she does actually adjust really well and swiftly to her new omega status.
So this was gripping and emotional and super hot with some fantastic chemistry.
A real page-turner of a read that I enjoyed very much.
It’s told in dual POV and I adored both Winter and Kazek equally.
Neither were perfect but together they made an unstoppable force each managing to further strengthen the other.
I mean even when I wanted to knock some sense into them and they both had their individual moments here I was still was rooting from them all the way.
Kazek and Winter are now up there with my favourite book couples ever.
This really had it all and It was a really great read one that I highly recommend you give a go.
I voluntary reviewed a copy of Winter’s Arrow.

description

For the first time in what feels a long time, mainly due to the uncertain times in which we presently live, I have read a book that I just didn't want to put down. A book that drew me totally and profoundly into it's world, had me utterly entranced with every word, had me battling between the need to read quickly and find out what would happen next with stretching out the experience and time with the characters for as long as possible.

From the blurb I was expecting a far less battle-ready Snow/Winter, I also thought it suggested a timeline of months or years, rather than a week or so. And that is the ONLY fault I really found with the story. Also, if I'm being totally honest, I wasn't sure how a more fantasy style story, suggested by the blurb, would fit into the x-clan series. It wouldn't, so the fact that this was very much in line with the rest of the series was actually a relief. In this book, and the series as a whole, the author has created a world that I never want to leave.

Winter and Kazak get off to quite an explosive start, albeit a shaky one too. They have barely exchanged more than a few words when circumstances force their hands into embarking on a very unexpected and very complicated journey. Twists, turns, harsh lessons, shocking discoveries all play out into a layered story that enables (forces?) both Winter and Kazak to undergo personal growth in a way that felt utterly believable - even if this is a paranormal/dystopian/omegaverse story!

Whilst the basic rule of law is that Alphas lead and Omegas submit, Winter never once came across as weak or powerless. In a very short period of time her entire world was tipped upside down and she had to learn new rules and adapt VERY quickly. Yes some of her decisions were reckless, yes she made some errors, but more as a consequence of the situation forced on her rather than a weak or irritating personality. I loved her.

I also loved Kazak, mainly because he respected her capabilities and needed her strength, though pack law meant that in public Winter needed to mind her step. He was occasionally an alpha-hole, but his willingness to listen, to explain, also made him very redeemable. His very imperfections were what made him perfect, particularly the fact that he was, sort of, willing to admit to his mistakes.

This pair, their journey (both physical and emotional), their passion, their learning, their story was just perfect. So as I said at the beginning - I want, no I NEED, more!

Upgraded 3.5-4ish ⭐'s with the reread. I agree with a lot of what I said before, but I liked it a lot better this time around. It could be that I’ve read a lot of PNR/Omegaverse over the past two years, so I kept up better… and I listened to the audio this time and thought the narrators did a nice job… especially Kaz’s part. My only grump with that (and it wasn’t too distracting) is that Kaz had an English accent, but the female narrator couldn’t pull one off, so she had this mostly American accent with a few words having a weird made-up accent… sort of like those Bush people. 🤷‍♀️

I do love a kinky or creepy fairytale re-telling, so I thought I’d give it a shot. Winter’s Arrow is a shifter/omegaverse re-telling of Snow White. I thought this was pretty creative, and did enjoy certain aspects, but there’s not much going on for a large chunk of the middle which got pretty boring.

Unlike a lot of re-tellings, LCF actually incorporated several concepts of the original story. Snow Frost is the orphan princess of the Winter Sector being raised by her evil step-mother Vanessa. (The Queen of Mirrors) Her only allies are her seven secret protectors. (fellow Beta shifters) When they discover a plot to kill her, she escapes and unites with Alpha Kazek.

✅ Both Winter and Kazek accepted their new situation, and were a pretty good team.
✅ Both were mostly likeable. Winter was strong in her own way despite being an Omega, and Kazek was supportive despite being an alpha. This wasn’t the spanking her into submission scenario.
✅ The secondary characters were entertaining, and will move onto the next book.

❌ There’s a lack of worldbuilding, and there’s virtually no explanation of the omegaverse dynamic. Readers not familiar with the concepts might be confused, because it’s just assumed we’re familiar with knotting, slick, omega/alpha relationships. The made vs born wolf dynamic is mentioned, but not really explained, and the parameters of the mate bond aren’t really spelled out. Can they communicate, feel each other’s feeling, die if the other dies ??
❌ There’s a large chunk where nothing is really happening except the couple having sex… and omegaverse smut isn’t for everyone.

Bottom Line-Ok, but not awesome. I finished it, but won’t continue on with Kari & Sven/Mick. Omegaverse comes with its own set of rules which doesn’t give the Omega a ton of room to be a total badass, and the alpha’s are pretty much the boss of the relationship. It’s just the nature of the dynamic. Also, the first “coupling” is almost always a physical need (like the worst case of BBS ever) not a desire thing. The Omega will be writhing in pain in need of an alpha’s knot, which can be off-putting for some readers.

Winter's Arrow is an incredibly delicious retelling of Snow White set in the Omegaverse and I was hooked on its ever word! Snow was the princess of Winter Sector, the rightful heir, and the last member of her family's line. When her parents died, she was left in the care of a female Alpha, one who took care of her despite her Beta shortcomings. However, not everything was all smiles and rainbows in the kingdom. Something was wrong. Snow overheard a murder plot. Her caregiver wanted to kill her. She had only her loyal seven (like the dwarves but these guys were sexy wolf shifters) to help her. After a night of welcoming guests to her impending nuptials, alongside the Alpha who seemed to long to claim her, Snow had had enough. She subtly challenged Alpha Kazek of Norse Sector, second in command, which only cemented his hunger for her. And then he finds her stowed away on his plane...

I'm new to this omegaverse genre, but if this book is anything to go by, I'm all for it. Once I had it firmly in mind that this was a story of an Omega, a natural submissive, and her extremely Alpha protector, I was all over it. Sign me up for all the knots and slicks and smells and yum. While Snow wasn't completely submissive, with her snark and her regal attitude, Kazek definitely knew how to 'put her in her place' and I enjoyed every minute of their connection. Her coming to terms with her new omega status, him coming to terms with what it meant to be Snow's alpha, plots for revenge, tons of hot sex, and everything in between, Winter's Arrow was one hell of an entertaining read!

Why did I even finish this?

The hero is a jerk. The heroine is an idiot. Together they will be the Asshorons and they will spend seven days doing nothing only to conquer a whole ass kingdom with four people and a bow and arrow.

Winter's Arrow is book 3 in the X-Clan Series and it's a retelling of Snow White. Snow/Winter was raised a Beta by her evil stepmother although she's actually an Omega. When she overhears her stepmother and future mate discussing her killing she knows she has to flee. At the same time she stops taking the strength pills that she doesn't realize are actually suppressants. This sends her into heat and luckily Alpha Kazek from the Norse Sector is there to help which leads to him mating her. I really enjoyed Kazek and Winter as a couple. They had a lot to overcome since they basically knew nothing about each and had different views of their future. Winter wants to reclaim her throne while Kazek has no desire to be King. In the end they learned how to communicate and rule their Kingdom. I look forward to the next book in this series.

Lexi’s books are always SUCH A JOY to read and this dark romance was no exception! I haven’t read book 1 and 2 in the series yet, this book can be read as a stand-alone imo, so I’m really looking forward to getting my hands on them as well, hopefully soon.

Highly recommend it if you’re into paranormal dark romance and aren’t afraid of things getting a bit rough and intense ;)

Little Warning; some parts in the book can be a trigger if you don’t like reading about mishandling and submissiveness. Even though our heroine is feisty, capable and strong minded she’s no Alpha and in this world that means you’re a submissive. So be prepared hehe ;)

4 - 4.5 stars!

I have a lot of feelings about this story. I really liked it. The one part I had a bit of a hard time accepting was the definite non-consensual element at the beginning. BUT I can't even be mad or upset about it because

1. The author warned me several times AND
2. It's an omegaverse

This story is set in the X-Clan dystopian world where shifters rule and most humans have been infected with a zombie virus. Here we have Snow (Winter) and Kazek. Winter is a princess in her sector/kingdom and Kazek is second in command in his sector.

Winter has been raised by her aunt (I think), the Queen of Mirrors and is set to marry but the night before the marriage she discovers the Queen's nefarious plan to kill her. Winter immediately knows she must run.

Kazek visits Winter's sector to congratulate the couple and that is where they meet. They both have an immediate reaction to each other. Kazek is an alpha that used to be a human so he is unique in that and always strives to gain respect in this world through bloodshed.

Winter's seven, her protectors, get her on Kazek's ship unbeknownst to Kazek so when they land back in Kazek's territory and her scent keeps bothering him, he realizes she's on his ship. Winter, believing she is a beta is confused when she starts having strange sensations and Kazek immediately realizes she's an omega and his already fraying want of her snaps.

It's at this point that Kazek claims her to save her and thus begins their journey together. It wasn't an easy journey for the two of them but I think that's what I liked most about this story....the evolution of their relationship. They both had flaws and both made mistakes. There's a lot of great elements to this story and the world Foss has built is so different than the other omegaverses I've read in the past.

What will happen to Winter now that she's been claimed by Kazek? Can they learn to love each other and accept one another despite their differences? Can Winter get revenge and her kingdom back?

What I liked most about this story was Winter was not a pushover. She fought for what she believed in and went head to head with Kazek several times. Their chemistry was delicious and Kazek was possessive and controlling in a way that wasn't off putting.

Overall, a solid installment in this world.

***spoilers ahead***
I have a lot to say about this that I didn’t like so bare with me, it might come off as one big raving rant because I was disappointed. This book should have written itself, but failed miserably. Here’s why...
To start, this book wasn’t what the description led me to believe. The blurb insinuated that “Snow White” would run away from home. The huntsman, and the 7 dwarves-er, wolves?- would help her learn to fight and get strong so she can take her kingdom back from the evil step mother. Sounds interesting, right? Well, the author failed to deliver.
I didn’t mind Snow/winter in the beginning, as other reviews have shared their displeasure in her. For me, I expected a weak female princess character in the beginning. This coming with the expectation that she would do some character development and become stronger so that could defeat the evil queen. It was literally the easiest thing the author could do. BECAUSE THATS WHAT HAPPENS IN SNOW WHITE. Instead her character seemed to do the opposite. The further the book progressed the more whiny and submissive she became. She didn’t use any of those fighting skills she was secretly taught, which why even write it in then? Most of the book was an excuse for omegaverse sex.... but why make a Snow White spin off if you’re not going to actually do Snow white?
Secondly, I really couldn’t get on board with the male lead. Which is a first. Usually I love the male lead and despise the main heroine. Not this time. Listen, I love Alpha makes. I love the whole “I’m dominant” thing. I love the omegaverse. But this guy was something else. There is a beautiful fine line between possession and abuse. This guy wouldn’t let her even speak her mind before growling, “I’m the alpha!” Her told her many times she was “beneath” others, including a prior woman he had sex with. She was supposedly royal but that means nothing because she’s not Alpha? I couldn’t understand that right out of the gate. The hierarchy of her word made no sense. Why have kings’s and queens if their below their own citizens? As well, Kazek felt very stupid to me, unlikeable. His excuses as to why he didn’t want to take back the winter sector made no sense, and it felt like every time he got mad at Snow there really wasn’t a reason for it. Because of this, it was kind of understandable that all she would do was apologize. She’s an abuse victim. As much as the author shoved down our throats that omegas were revered she seemed to have a skewed view of what that meant. You don’t treat things you revere by choking them out.
Side note, finding out that Ludvig was her uncle was gross. He literally made no attempt to help her. Treated her like shit, and seemed to have no kinship toward her. He suspected Vanessa had killed his sister so he does what? Leaves his niece with her. Nice.
Thirdly, the story was just too much. I realize this isn’t the first in the series but there was wayyyy too much happening in the background that added little to the story. Snow White theme? Ok. Werewolves? Okay.. Omegaverse? Okay......Zombies??? Wtf. None of these plot devices get well written or thought out the entire book. Literally, she spends two sentences in the book saying that the world has zombies so flippantly that I had to go back and reread to make sure I wasn’t crazy. Is this an apocalypse? What is happening? Ms. Foss glosses over the world building and description and it makes the book ridiculous and hard to follow. Add in characters from other books that have little introduction and there’s much confusion. Honestly this would have been better as a stand-alone novel without being part of the x-clan series or whatever.

This couldn’t have been an easy win for the author but she royal messed it up. Alright rant over. 2.0 stars.

This is not your fairytale of Snow White, this is dark retelling. It was very delicious though. The author is new to me, but I really enjoyed the imagery and the story she told. I was shocked and yet engaged in the story. Kaz and Winter were a great couple. Their love unfolds in the omega universe kingdom that partakes in sexual rituals and open kinkiness. It's a trip. You should read it.

I never wanted this to end! We’re back in the X-Clan / Zombie Year 2099 universe where humans are scarce and Alphas rule sectors. This is a post-apocalyptic Snow White retelling that’s dark, sexy and so very addictive.

Snow Frost, Princess of Winter Sector discovers her fiancé is planning to murder her on her wedding night. With the help of her seven most trusted Betas she sneaks on board a plane and escapes to Norse Sector.

Alpha Kazek Flor, formally known as the huntsman and notorious assassin, attends the engagement party in Winter Sectors and finds a disobedient sassy princess who captures his interest. When he scents her on his return to Norse Sector he realises it’s not a fantasy but a reality as the Beta Princesses suppressant drugs wear off and her true Omega nature is revealed to both of them.

A mating of convenience with consequences that Kazek didn’t count on. He now holds a strong claim to the Winter Sector throne and Snow - reborn as Winter - wants his help to claim it. The pair struggle with communication which leads to endless punishments, a few massive misunderstandings and Winter making some pretty immature decisions.

Lexi Foss never disappoints and this one was certainly worth the time.

This baby was a surprise. A totally pleasant one, but it definitely made me sit up and go “Hey” It also had me going “WTF?!?!” a couplefew times, but I definitely got behind this retelling of Snow White. Everything from our MC’s, to the world building and all the way down to the Seven Dwarves had me getting lost in the story until the very end.

Snow/Winter and Kazek were definitely a pair, a pair I ended up really liking in the end, but boy did these two have quite a journey to travel before they both ended up exactly where they were supposed to be. She had to learn how to balance the power she actually had and he had to see beyond what he thought himself to be. These ‘growing pains’ made for interesting times as they not only learned to be mates, but simply friends who could trust in each other. They both drove me BSC in their own ways, so I wasn’t team anyone really, and though I understood how the hierarchy worked, there was one time where I leaned more towards Winter than Kazek. But in the end, I liked how it all worked out for them.

This was my first read by the author and I gotta say I enjoyed the journey. It did take me a bit to figure the world in general out, but even with that said, I was hooked from the start and liked how everything ended up playing out. As for the supporting cast of characters, Mick, Kari and Enrique were favorites, but it was Alana who truly interested me and I definitely wouldn’t mind seeing her get her HEA one day.

Winter's Arrow, the latest addition to the Sinister Fairytale collection, is a dark retelling of Snow White from a shifter slant and I was hooked from beginning to end. This tale was a paranormal/dystopian/omegaverse story and it was fast paced and action-packed filled with drama, secrets, lies, mystery, suspense betrayal and so much more. The relationship between Winter and Kazek was hott and intense but they both had some serious communication issues to work out, and the author did a great job with character development and showing the changes and growth in these two. The world building was excellent and the cast of secondary characters peaked my interest and overall the story was a fantastic read. I enjoyed this novel and would recommend it to all lovers of dark fairytale retelling.

Winter's Arrow is the first story I've read by Lexi C. Cross. For the story to be shapeshifters set in the post-apocalyptic world, it was really freaking good! This usually isn't my go to genre (sorry the only zombies I'm used to are the ones associated with the White Walkers)but this author wrote the story extremely well where I was hooked from the moment Kazek and Winter met the second time.

I found it to be an extremely hot read. The push and pull, the fighting and resistance between these two had me addicted.

Then there's the suspense because someone is out to kill Winter and once Kazek and Winter finally figure out how to settle their domestic issues, they have another problem they must deal with in order to have their happily ever after.

Kazec is all alpha male in every way possible. Winter may be the omega, but she does not cower as one would expect.

This was an overall great read!

Buole lettura, lupacchiotti, divertitevi.

Winter's Arrow was the paranormal fairytale retelling that I needed! The story of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves flipped on its end with this story. Snow is a captured princess that gets away from her evil stepmother. Was Snow's escape toward the enemy or toward the life she was always supposed to have? I was dragged in and gripped to the point I devoured this in almost one sitting, and I ran out to get the other books within the series.

Absolutely adore this world that this author has created. It started with Andorra Sector, went into X-Clan: The Experiment and now we have this little beauty, Winter’s Arrow.

All wolves, a few zombies and a whole lot of steam, grit and tension. Not to mention a gorgeous backdrop.

I get really frustrated with shifter stories. They tend to have pretty much the same storylines running through them but this world, with the element of zombies, really one ups a lot of books out there. I mean it’s not a common occurrence that you have the same paranormal and supernatural creatures featuring in the same book unless you’re using the old vampire/werewolf combo. Nothing wrong with that. I myself enjoy that kind of story.

But this?

This intrigues me on another level. Helps that I love all things zombies too.

Anywho, back to this story. In it we see Kazek, the wolf who is as badass as Chuck Norris, on steroids, shovelling rocks, just because. He’s the epitome of an alpha and I have to say that if there was a fight between sector leader Ander and Kazek, I’d pit my money on Kaz. I mean they’d be a pretty even match but I think Kaz would edge Ander out slightly. It’s not awful that he’s hot too. I mean I can totally get on board that, figuratively and physically.

Winter, I kind of hated but really loved in equal measure. (Actually I pretty much hate all female leads because they’re not me.) I hated her because she was way cooler that I could ever aspire to be and I loved her for her tenacity. She’s out for revenge and nothing and no one, not even an alpha wolf, hell bent on claiming his little pet, will stop her. And I loved that. Kind of reminded me of another of this author’s characters Eve. Eve’s tenacity is something to behold and I saw that with Winter toward the end.

As ever, the world building is on fire. The story is another cracker and I am once again left bereft that another story by this author has ended. Here’s hoping for more soon.

Highly recommend!

Love this author, love this series. Looking for angst similar to Andorra Sector. It wasn’t in this book, but it was a great story, nonetheless. Loved Kazek. Snow was a bit self-righteous, but she came around. I want to read the book about the male omegas!

This was my first book from this author and I have to say that I was hooked from the first chapter!! I haven't read many books with shifters so this was such a unique retelling of Snow White.
We have a strong heroine, Snow. An alpha, Kaz, who will keep you on your toes and sizzling passion.
I thoroughly loved the writing, the character development and the whole Wolf hierarchy. The book was engaging and I absolutely adored the twists and turns.
It won't be my last book from this author and this was a great addition to the Sinister Fairytales.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Winters Arrow is a brilliant read. This is not a genre I normally read and I’m so glad I took the chance to read it. Once I started this I was hooked from start to finish. I’m looking forward to reading more from this author in the future.

It’s part of the Sinister Fairytales collection. It most definitely can be read as a stand-alone. A fabulous well written retelling of Snow White.

CAN LEXI C.FOSS TRULY DISAPPOINT HER READERS? ABSOLUTELY NOT. THIS WAS BEAUTIFULLY IMPERFECT AND I ENJOYED EVERY SECOND OF IT. #matedbeforelove

KAZEK isn't a born alpha, rather he's made and in his human life, he used to be a hitman. Thus, he's quite used to being alone, answering to no one and not being responsible for anyone else. The fact that he's the Alpha's second-in-command is a position he was "threatened" to take or he wouldn't have wanted the position. When his alpha commands him to attend the Winter Sector's Princess impending wedding, he never expected to be enticed by the Beta Princess or that she would become a stowaway on his plane. Kazek's character is sexy, take no shits and when pushed, he's going to be brutal. So, you can imagine how pleasantly unpleasant it is for a single male to finally have himself a mate, one he saved because it's either claim Snow/Winter or let her die when her dynamic presented itself. Everyone believed the Princess to be a Beta, but who knew she's truly an Omega? The both of them will struggle with the fact that their now bonded and their past and future are intertwined, even if Kazek's not ready to become the new King of Winter. He has his stubborn moments, but at least he's willing to apologize once the haze clears from his head and the stick pulled out of his arse.

WINTER/SNOW is a brave Omega who used to believe she's a Beta. After the death of her parents, she's been raised by the evil stepmother Alpha, Queen Vanessa who has been secretly feeding her suppressants to hide her dynamic. When her life's endangered, her seven protectors urged her to leave the nation by hiding in Kazek's plane. Upon arrival, she's bombarded by her Omega senses as she left without taking her suppressants. Convenient, but yeah...we got some really hot, sexy times between her and Kazek. Unfortunately, the poor woman's bewildered because not only does she learn that she's an Omega, but she's been claimed. All her life, every decision has been made for her, and even when it comes to her mate. Was she furious? Hell yes, and I don't begrudge her that at all. One has to admire her strength and fortitude to forge through an Alpha world, and as a future Queen, I'm glad she wasn't weak.

OVERALL I think what I loved best about the story was how Winter and Kazek struggled over the newness of their bond. It's like...two people who has never had to compromise for anyone or had a relationship where they had to consider the other's feelings, needs and emotions...they eventually hurt each other before reconciling. Growth as a couple. That's what I truly liked about the story. Even at the end, they weren't perfect and has a long way to go, but that's alright I suppose. I'm certain they have centuries to figure things out. Though, unfortunately I will not be attempting Mick and Kari's story. That one, I can tell will be emotionally heart-wrenching but frankly, I'm not really invested in them nor do I like the whole....fractured Omega concept. It's too painful to read. But I have it on good authority from a fellow reviewer that it's a 5 star treat, so go check it out if you're interested!

A dark and delicious retelling of Snow White shifter style.

Snow is on the run after she discovers some disturbing news about what is suppose to happen to her on her wedding night. Little does she know that her world will be turned upside down by the alpha who will stake his claim.

Dangerous and sexy Kazek is the perfect alpha for the sassy, strong willed Winter.

Secrets are revealed and lies exposed testing Kaz and Winter's relationship. Twists and turns lurking in every corner.

Betrayals, mystery, suspense and sizzling scenes that will have your kindle smoking.

Loved the secondary characters as well!

Can't wait for Sven and Kari's story.

Beaucoup d’action, suspense, conspiration. On s’ennuie pas.
