Valhalla is rising…and so are its enemies. Luckily, this Valkyrie is bound to an ancient Fae warrior.
Rissa
My entire life, I've been different. I've felt things I shouldn't. Heard things that weren't there. But those whispers never led me astray until my twenty-first birthday. The handsome stranger at the bar seemed innocent enough…until I woke up in his bed with no recollection of how I got there.
He says I'm not who I think I am, and that I'm in danger. The craziest part? The more time I spend with him, the more I want to believe it when he says he belongs to me. But my life isn't a fairytale, and places like Valhalla, mate bonds, and ancient Fae warriors don't exist…do they?
Dax
For millennia, I was oathbound to protect Valhalla, a warrior of Light sworn to defend her no matter the cost. Until the Forsaken destroyed every last Valkyrie within her borders.
My brothers and I have spent the last three hundred years in exile, trapped on earth and waiting for the five mortal women prophesized to restore honor to the Halls. But when Rissa calls my soul, everything changes.
My loyalty is no longer to Valhalla and the Fae but to the powerful woman caught in a prophecy she doesn't understand. I'll do whatever I have to do to keep her Light shining and protect our bond. Even if it means letting Valhalla fall forever.
Valkyrie Heart is the first book in the Valkyrie Bound series of interconnected romances. If you enjoy thrilling paranormal romance, fiercely protective Fae warriors, and strong, curvy heroines, you'll love the Valkyrie Bound series. Each book introduces a new couple and their bond. Each story ends in an HFN for the couple, but the overarching story continues through each book.
Four-time award-winning author Nichole Rose writes deliciously dirty rom-coms, sports, and small-town romance, featuring relatable curvy women and the devoted alpha men who can't live without them. From obsessed billionaires to over-the-top hockey players to the firefighter next door, no one is safe from the hilarious, sassy women she sets loose on the world. She loves delivering relatable characters, hilarious banter, and enough heat to make you squirm.
Nichole also writes dark romance as Nichole Fallon.
When not writing, Nichole enjoys fine wine, cute shoes, and everything supernatural. She is happily married to the love of her life and is a proud ringleader in the world’s most ridiculous chihuahua circus. She and her husband live in central Arkansas.
Nichole Rose's first fated mate fantasy romance! It is a hit! After this series (or during) I hope she writes more fated mate stories! Safe DUAL VIRGIN/ Fated ( TRUE bonded mates)! *HAPPY DANCE! BOOTY SHAKE! HAPPY DANCE!* No cheating No OM No OW No separation No gross condom use No epilogue, but it's ok, because there is a satisfying conclusion to our hero and heroines love story, and it will continue on in the next book! It is a series that I am SO excited for! So this is the story of Dax a fae fated to be soul bound to his Valkyrie Rissa. It took a little bit to convince this human that she is a Valkyrie, but she acclimated quickly and she fell in love with Dax, who fell in love and lust for her the moment he saw her. After a long battle, the fae were put on Earth and for 300 years lived among humans, keeping to themselves, waiting for their fated Valkyrie to then open the portal back, so they can all go back to their rhelm. Rissa is the first Valkyrie bound to her mate Dax (the sweet fae) and is tasked to defeat their enemies with her light, and Dax's sole reason to live is to protect and love his Valkyrie, even if all of Asgard and the other rhelms burn, if she is safe in his arms, he is content. Quote (Dax's inner monologue), "I drag her pants down her legs, desperate to taste her as no one else has. As no one ever will. Every part of her will be mine, just as every part of me will belong to her and her alone. That is the future the Norns wove for us. That's the fate I fight for now. If Valhalla must fall forever to save this Valkyrie, so be it." Swoon my heart, swoon. I am basking in this romance, it is so GOOD it made me clasp my hands together bringing them to my chest and sigh happily! I LOVE that if one of them dies (neither do don't worry!), the other cannot live without the other half of their soul. This is true soulmates, and for me true love. I loved that they discovered sex together and it was so hot! He let her know that he is all hers in all ways, just as she is all his in all ways. There is no ambiguity and that made my hopelessly romantic heart happy! What is even better, is that you felt the love between them before they started to be intimate, their heart and souls bound together and that just made it that much sweeter when they gave their bodies to each other. This is their exchange after he first makes her cum, quote, " 'Um, is it always like that? So…intense?' ' 'I wouldn't know. I've never been mated. And no Fae warrior has ever been soul-bound.' Her gaze flies to mine, shock written all over her face. 'Never? As in never-ever?' 'Never-ever. We're the first, lyseste ljós.' *sigh swoon SWOON!!* The secondary characters that will get their own story in the series are awesome and it gave me a taste of their personalities and I am intrigued. We will get an MFM story, with Malachi, Damrion and the seer Abigail. Abigail is adorable by the way, I love her to pieces. But next, we will get Reaper and his Valkyrie's story next and let me tell you it is so exciting! All the stories I think will be dual virgin because none of the fae mated in millenias, and none of the brothers mated, they wait for their fated one, their Valkyrie. Since it is a one true love, fated mate story, the other Valkyries will also be virgins. Here is why I think it will be so, quote, "It's been a long time since a Fae took a mate." "Really?" I arch my brows, surprised. "None of the Fae ever wed?" "Not the Fae in Valhalla. We could not more split our focus between a mate and our oath as we could between a single Valkyrie and our oath," he says, taking a big bite of the sandwich Damrion brought a little while ago. He chews and swallows before saying anything else. "No Fae has taken a mate since Álfheimr fell." "Not even here on earth?" "Nei," he says" So we have confirmation, our heroes are all waiting, and since they are soul bound, the other half of their souls, our heroines must be as well!! I CANNOT WAIT! I CANNOT WAIT! I can tell this is a series I will be rereading, and this is only the first book, but I am so hopeful and feel good about the others to come. Nichole Rose respects fated mates. This is true fated mates, they mate only with their one true love, they don't mate, or feel attraction, or fall in love with others before or after they meet their fated one. They both experience their sexual awakening and love for the first time together. THAT is TRUE fated mates, mates fated for each other only! It is rare when an author respects that trope, and I knew Nichole Rose would. I am so glad she did, also it makes me bounce up and down in anticipation for the other books in the series because of that alone! The stories and the world building is so well done, I am invested! I recommend this highly! This was a hit and I am still swooning over Dax. There is magic, enemies to defeat, show downs, friendships made, true love, romance, hot sex between our soulmates, and so much more in this magical fantasy world! Read it, please experience it!! Happy reading everyone!
I'll be honest I didn't vibe with this book. At all. And I love Nichole books she's a one click for me. But lord. Didn't love the Norse mythology it isn't my cup. I tried to get into it, but always calling Rissa Valkyier all the time got annoying.
So im pass on Nicholes Norse series. And wait until another series comes out.

This book was like nothing of Nichole Rose’s normal books. One thing that annoyed me so much was sometimes they spoke in another language and you don’t find out the meaning of them. Another thing is he’s Fae and she’s a valkyrie and he calls her Valkyrie like it’s her name it annoyed me so much. No epilogue and ends on a cliffhanger.

Nichole Rose has always been amazing at world building, but this series is on a whole new level and I’m LOVING it. She took a dive into the paranormal while still keeping to her writing and romance style that we all love. Fae and Norse mythology?! What more could you want! The character development in this one was amazing and we were introduced to so many upcoming characters that just get you excited for more books. It doesn’t end on a cliffhanger for the couple, but definitely a cliffhanger for the rest of the characters and a what’s going to happen next with the storyline sort of vibe. I can’t believe we have to wait until April to get Reaper’s story, it was such a page turner I just need more now! Hoping for a possible MFM as well in this series, and there were definitely a lot of hints pointing that way. The fact the women are the all powerful and the men are there to protect and be commanded (except in the bedroom) was such a nice twist too. Rissa was a bad ass whose love and loyalty ran deep while Dax was this calming, strong and protective Fae who loved deeply. The whole soul-bound thing was perfect for continuing Nichole’s style of insta/possessive love and the fact they only mate once. I seriously cannot wait for this series to continue. I couldn’t put it down once I started!!
TROPES: ~age gap ~paranormal/fae ~feels/hears everything through bond ~forced proximity
This is a case of it's not you, it's me. While I love that Nichole Rose has branched out to different genres, this just didn't work for me... it was too confusing, with too many names for things that I had to keep going back to look at the glossary. There's some chemistry between the leads but it's not like a usual NR book. I was disappointed with this one.
If you're a fan of fae/paranormal/fantasy books, you'll probably like this.
I received this as an arc from the author and I’m voluntarily leaving my honest review.
This story completely blew me away. I hardly ever read fantasy or romatasy so I was curious to see if this would be something for me. And it really was. The overall storyline had me hooked from the beginning and the biggest issue for me is that I have to wait for such a long time before the series is complete. I loved the Norse mythology elements especially as a Scandinavian myself.
The characters were interesting and I’m totally itching to see where they are all going. Dax and Rissa had a strong bond and I loved them together but even more I loved the dynamic between all the characters. And I really just want the next book right this minute.
Soul bonds? Sign me up. Dax and Rissa’s story pulls you right in. Not only do you learn about the history and the story of everything before but you get why Dax and his brothers are here now as well. When he finds Rissa he realizes her light is much more powerful than they thought and she’s so much more than she knows. Rissa is just trying to figure out her life and gets thrust into a whole new world learning all about the Valkyrie and Fae. She’s hesitant as first, but then takes on so much she didn’t even know she could. Their story definitely pulled me right in, I can’t wait to read the other brothers now!
This wasn't for me. I didn't vibe with the Norse mythology and felt not a drop of chemistry between Dax and Rissa. I think I will just stick to this author's contemporary works.
"The Valkyrie have fallen. And Gods have mercy on the souls of the Forsaken who claimed their Light, for the Fae will have none for them."
The Valkyrie have fallen, until it's time for the prophecy to come true. Dax, our Fae MMC, finds Rissa, our FMC, and the Valkyrie have returned. Rissa is in for a treat with her Fae lover, and her Valkyrie power. She is strong, beautiful, powerful & not going down without a fight. Dax is dedicated to his brothers, his war, and his woman. He is also not going down without a fight.
The world building is really well done considering the length of the book, and leaves me very much wanting to know more of how the story will continue world wise in the next book. I know we have a new love and a new Valkyrie to look forwards to but I hope the actual story will continue smoothly.
I can't wait for the next book!
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
My reviews always contain spoilers, I write them so I can remember the story.
Book is based on Norse mythology with Asgard, Odin, Valkyrie, and Fae. If you have watched any of the Marvel Thor movies you will have a good understanding of the mythology. Nichole has done a wonderful job adding her touch to the world building, her descriptions help you see and feel immersed in the action and locations in the book.
300 years ago: Valhalla has fallen, all the Valkyrie are killed, the Fae are holding the realm from the evil Forsaken who have attacked in great numbers. The Fae warriors think to go through the portal to protect Asgard but are sent to earth instead. The Cascade mountains to be exact. There they make a life for themselves while they wait for the prophecy that states they will again find Valkyrie to take back their realm. The series is for 5 elite Fae warriors and their Valkyrie who will help them reclaim Valhalla and the souls lost when the Valkyrie were killed. Dax and his fellow Fae are in Seattle to find a Valkyrie, they have been sent by their Seer, Abigail. They find her, Rissa she is being kidnapped by a Forsaken. Dax has an immediate reaction to her, even before he sees her, he can feel her emotions. She is panicked and scared, she has been drugged and being forced into a SUV. The warriors run out into the alley to save her. Once Dax sees her he knows she’s his, he is soul-bound to her. In their realm it is forbidden for a Fae warrior and a Valkyrie to soul-bound, the Fae protect all Valkyrie and Valhalla, but this is earth and the rules have changed. Turns out they don’t need to save her from the Forsaken, unknown to her she is a very powerful Valkyrie, she is able to harness her feelings and pull from within her a great light that burns the shadowy Forsaken on contact. Rissa wakes in a place she doesn’t recognize and sees the most beautiful man hovering over her. He talks fast but she is not convinced of who he says he is, she thinks he is the one who kidnapped her. It takes meeting Abigail to convince her that she is a Valkyrie and is one of five who will be the ones to save the nine realms from the evil Forsaken. Abigail has a vision and in trying to help her Rissa taps into the vision and sees her friends being killed by the Forsaken in their attempt to find her. She and the warriors go back to Seattle to save her friends. In between the action are some pretty steamy sexy times, dual virgins!! Rissa really accepts Dax as her soul-bound when they are attacked on the way down the mountain. The Forsaken send giant wolf like creatures that Dax and the Fae warriors fight, she knows she must do something to save them all. She can not lose the other half of her soul. She again pulls power from her feelings and burns brighter than the sun burning all the creatures for miles. In Seattle she goes alone to save her friends and her father, who is living in her childhood home after being released from prison for killing her mother and almost her in a drunk rage. She saves her friends but her father is dead, the Forsaken think to use her Valkyrie blood and her fathers soul to open a portal to Valhalla to capture all the souls the Valkyrie crossed into Valhalla. Dax and crew arrive and help kill the Forsaken, Rissa had already started burning them with her light. The end sets up the next book, they find another Valkyrie tied up in the house and the Fae warrior Reaper has soul-bound to her. There is also a lot of tension between Abigail and two Fae warriors, Damrion and Adriel, so maybe a MMF? How is Rissa a Valkyrie? Over hundreds of years the Valkyrie have been mating with humans to produce more Valkyrie, to protect them they would after birth bring them back to earth for safe keeping. There are hundreds of humans that are Valkyrie decedents and they have been drawn to the Fae warriors for years. Some have limited power but a few are true Valkyrie with amazing powers, like Rissa. They are all ready to fight the Forsaken.

This was an excellent start to a new series - one that I can't believe won't finish until next year. However, I will patiently wait, because it will be worth it.
There was a lot of background set up for the world and where the Fae, Humans, Valkyrie and Forsaken all stand in the war to save Valhalla. There were a few sections at the beginning where I thought that it dragged a bit, but once Rissa awakens and realizes her potential, it was non-stop action from there onward.
This is a romance story with a HFN ending, but at the same time it's so much more. It's a good vs. evil, light vs. dark, action adventure story that kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time reading.
There are some heavy topics dealt with in the story, mainly around domestic violence, but not between the love interests. If violence, death, fighting or war are also triggers, you may want to steer away from this book. But if those are okay with you and you don't mind watching a love story go on around all that chaos in the background - then jump in and enjoy!.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
In this new and exciting paranormal fantasy romance series a group of stranded Fae Warriors are on a mission to reunite with the five prophesized Valkyries needed to save the world and find love along the way.
When Fae warrior, Dax feels his soul being called, he is shocked to find out its by one of the five prophesized Valkyries he and his brothers have been searching for these last 300 years. Rissa isn't like the Valkyrie is remembers. Rissa is young , fragile and grew up human in a world low on hope and high in evil.
There is some serious insta-lust that quickly turns into insta-love. As the first book in the series, there is a fun introduction to all the Fae brothers, some light summary of the magic system/world and a bit of a history lesson for those not super in the know when it comes to Norse mythology and a prophesy that is unraveling as the books and each Fae/Valkyrie is paired.
I'm definitely invested in this new series and after that smash ending, I can't wait to read the next book! On a side note, I am a little concerned about the love triangle/menage? being set up between Abigail, Damrion and Adriel. For one it's because I don't do menage/sharing but its also because Abigail is only 18 and although they didn't raise her since birth or anything and have only known her a few years, the setup feels a little bit off to me.
I'm a very character-driven reader, so the fact the world intrigued me as well, tells you how engaging I found it. I read this book in one day because I couldn't put it down. I enjoyed the tension-building the author used to keep me intrigued. Giving me breadcrumbs of information for the plot and having colourful side characters that I wanted to read more about.
I've read a lot of fated mate stories, but never have they had such insta love before. Our main character has a deep childhood trauma regarding men that she, in the span of a few chapters, goes from not trusting this stranger to being madly in love. Made the relationship feel rushed and when they got together it didn't feel as satisfying. I did enjoy how our MFC was such a girlboss though!
I would have enjoyed more combat moments within the book because the ones that were given were very well done. It's been a few months since I read the book and the main couple isn't the takeaway I got from the story but rather the relationship dynamic the Valkrie protectors have with each other. They spent such a long time on Earth and have such a long history even pre-dating that, that every time it was mentioned I wanted to learn more.
For people that don't like cliffhangers at the end and insta-love, this one is not for you.
If you enjoy Norse Myth, guardian protectors, and warrior women in a more modern fantasy setting then this is a series for you.
Overall, I think I wanted more. More fights, more tension, more plot, more bickering, more magic.
Wow. I am in love with this gorgeous world and amazing characters that Nichole has created. It was such a thrilling ride to read Rissa learning all about who she really is, what she's capable of and why she's survived so much when she shouldn't have. And Dax. Ok, again, wow. I loved him. I want a Dax. Fae? Check. Handsome? Check. Brave? Check. Irrevocably loyal and in love with Rissa? Check. I loved the idea of them being soul bound and how much the rules have changed. The things he said to her.... Swoon. My favorite quote I translated while reading was when he said to her, "A hundred kingdoms would be too few to contain my love for you." Just, wow. Their love was absolute perfection. It was pure and fierce. And you could feel it. It was palpable, rising off the pages. Their story drew me in and kept me riveted until the end. And I know with absolute certainty that I will be riveted until the end of the series. I cannot wait to meet the rest of the Valkyries and to see the other Fae brothers become soul bound as well. Well freaking done, Nichole!

This is my first book by Nichole Rose, and I absolutely loved it. Norse mythology and Fae? Yes, please!
300 years ago, Valhalla was attacked, and Valkyrie was abolished. Dax, alongside his brothers, Damrion, Reaper, Malachi, and Adriel, fought to keep the portal to Valhalla open, but instead, found themselves and 200 other Fae, on Earth.
Adaxial (Dax) and his brothers are now in Seattle. The human seer, Abigail tells them that there are five women on Earth who are Valkyrie, and they are to fulfill the prophecy, Valhalla will rise again. Clarissa (Rissa), a fated Valkyrie, is in the bar with her co-workers when Forsaken tries to kidnap her. Dax knows he has to keep her safe. He takes her to their complex, Eitr, hidden in the mountains, where Dax and Rissa learn they are soul bound to one another.
Valkyrie Heart is a short read, full of twists and turns, that has you turning the pages to find out what happens next. This book doesn't leave you on a cliffhanger with Dax and Rissa, but there is definitely a cliffhanger for the rest of the characters, and I can't wait until the next book to find out what happens next.
300 years ago, Valhalla was attacked, and all of the Valkyrie were abolished. Dax and the other Fae fought as hard as they could. Damrion, Malachi, Adriel and Reaper fight to keep the portal to Valhalla open. The portal spits them out on to Earth. 200 Fae are now stuck on Earth.
Adaxial or Dax is now in Seattle. The human seer, Abigail, tells them that there are five women on Earth who are Valkyrie. They are to fulfill the prophesy. Together, Valhalla will rise again. Clarissa Michaelson, Rissa, is 21 and never even been kissed. She is in the bar with co-workers. The Forsaken try to kidnap Rissa but she destroys him. She faints and Dax takes her to their complex, Eitr, which is 2 hours outside Seattle in the mountains. Dax knows he has to keep her safe and is soul bound to Rissa.
I am not usually interested in books about the Fae and Valkyries but love Nichole Rose books, so I decided to read this story. I really was captivated and now can’t wait to read the rest of the series.
This is a complete step away from the "normal" Nichole Rose books I've read, and I can honestly say I enjoyed the change of pace. Valkyrie Heart is the starter of the Valkyrie Bound series, in this one we're given the back story as to how the Fae and Valkyrie are bonded, but for 300 hundred years our MMC Dax has been in exile along with his fellow warriors. However when Rissa comes of age, her heart calls out for her warrior and Dax is ready to answer the call. Fated mates romance, which is still instalove but knowing it's been predetermined by fate just gives it a little something more. Dual pov writing gives Dax and Rissa more opportunities to help us understand them better. Its a standalone as in each book is dedicated to each couple, however the overall story is told through each book so you need to read in order to get the full experience. Great start, and the rest follow suit as they all hit the mark. 5/5 stars
I wasn't sure exactly what to expect with this book, but wow! Absolutely incredible! I was hooked from the first paragraph and was never let go. Nichole's attention to detail brought the 9 realms to life. We see a different Valhalla than most of us would be familiar with but no less stunning. And Dax and Rissa... my new favorite couple. So much heat, not even Surtr could withstand it! They are absolutely beautiful together. I can't wait to see how they develop. The other characters are just as incredible and I'm so excited to see their stories unfold. I would say that if fantasy worlds are not your thing, this may not be your cup of tea. However, if you've ever thought about breaking ground in that genre, this book would be the perfect place to start. Nichole Rose has begun to weave a wonderous tale that will not disappoint. I will impatiently be waiting for the rest of the series!
Dax and Rissa!! This much anticipated paranormal romance from Nichole Rose did NOT disappoint. I don't tend to read much paranormal but I will read any Nichole Rose books and this story has all the things we love from this author and SO much more. This is just the first story in the series and we have already seen such a beautiful world with a fascinating history and so much curiosity for the future. Rissa at first, doesn't understand why she has always felt different and learns that the stories she's heard growing up meant to be fiction, are so much and that she actually plays a pivotal role in these 'stories'. Dax and Rissa have an intense beautiful connection and when they finally give into their desires it is beautiful. I am certain the rest of this series is going to be amazing and look forward to getting back into this world.
I was starting to think my recent book slump was me being too picky but then a friend recommended this and... boom... slump over!
Dual virgin suspense is really difficult to pull off because the MCs have to be mature enough to fight evil but young enough to have a legit reason to stay virgins. This was everything I could have wanted, and more.
Backstories made sense without being too corny or unbelievable. Dark enough for characters to have matured but not a trigger minefield. Safe but not 2 virgins sloppily macking on each other.
I saved the best for last.... oooh, the grammar!! Spelling, grammar, sentence structure were all on point and that's been a huge annoyance for me lately. Just frustrating getting ripped out of a story because a sentence doesn't make sense or contradicts itself. This was beautiful.
I am so beyond thrilled that Nichole Rose took this route into paranormal excellence. I am invested in these characters like a bingeable tv series.
It didn’t end on a cliffhanger but gods I need to KNOW what happens next, NOW. And I already know the wait for Damrion, Adriel, and Abigail is going to KILL ME, I kind of cried even though Reaper is so worthy of going next.
The world building and character introduction was great, and even though it’s a new genre, Valkyrie Heart has all the staples that make Nichole Rose’s work my absolute favorite. Insane chemistry, gorgeous banter, sassy heroines, and heat that leaves me thirsty. I’m so excited for what comes next!
(This is an ARC. I leave this honest review voluntarily.)
I loved everything about this paranormal storyline, gorgeous hot Fae warriors ready to step up and fight for what they believe in and to restore what had been lost.
Out looking to save a long awaited Valkyrie little did Dax know his whole existence was about to change when Rissa’s soul called out to him.
Never in thousands of years had a Fae mated and bonded with a soul mate until now and he would do everything within his immortal life to protect the one person who now mattered more than his life’s mission.
An action packed love story that will make you swoon!
Highly Recommended Read!.

I am such a huge fan of Nichole Rose and I am honoured to be part of her ARC team. Valkyrie Heart is something new for Nichole Rose, she has written a paranormal romance before, but this book is so much more complex. There is a language element, and mythical references. I do have to admit, it did take me a little longer to get into this book, and I think that it was because I had to think about the language part more. Valkyrie Heart is a bit of a slow burn, even though Rissa and Dax are destined to be together, it takes a bit for them to get together, in only Nichole Rose fashion. Once Rissa and Dax get together, the world sings. I loved this story, and it is beautifully well written, and the twists and turns keeps you wanting to read well into the night!!!!
So, I thought I knew what I was getting with this new series but I didn't. At first it was a learning curve, but once I caught on it became much more interesting. I thought both Dax and Rissa were good characters. The storyline is unique and not what most Nichole fans are used to. I wouldn't have minded if the book was longer, especially since it's setting so much ground work. Their actual relationship was steamy but there wasn't a lot outside of the drama surrounding the Forsaken. It has plenty of danger, suspense, good vs evil, Norse mythology, brotherhood, determination and a soul bound love. It looks like the Fae, Valkyries and Valhalla are here to stay. The way it ended left me wanting more and looking to see when the next book comes out. Reaper finds his mate
Ngl, I was pretty lost most of the time. I don't really know much about Norse mythology, and all the Nordic language threw me off while I was reading this. 🫣
However, given that this is the first book in the series and serves as an introduction to this new fictional world, I suppose I should be more understanding and open-minded.
Anyway, I wasn't really feeling it yet, but who knows, maybe as I read more, I'll start to appreciate it and the worldbuilding a bit more. 🤷♀️

Wow! This was so good!! True Nichole hero’s with a totally different feel. Nichole builds up the world so wonderfully and keeps you fully invested in the characters and the story. Dax is a fae, thousands of years old and one of the many who protected Valhalla. When Valhalla fell 300 years earlier he and others were trapped on earth with the mission to find the 5 Valkyrie females that legions foretold would save Valhalla. Rissa was a human and a Valkyrie, her soul called to Dax. He found her and knew he must protect his mate from what would come. Hot, steamy with amazing chemistry, true love, danger, suspense, a wonderful HFN and an ongoing story I can’t wait to devour!!
Dax and his brothers have spent the last three hundred trapped on earth. They are awaiting for the prophecy, five mortal woman are supposed to aid in restoring honor the Halls of Vallaha. Dax's loyalty is now to Ressa, to protect her.
Ressa has been different her whole life, hearing things that not there. When Dax tells her who she is, she does not believe him but the more time she spends with him the more she comes to trust him.
This is different from the author's normal stories and cannot wait for the next installment.

A brand new series not to be missed from Nichole Rose.
We get something different from the wonderful author Nichole Rose. A fantasy novel from Norse mythology and what a great start of the series.
Dax is a Fae, protector of Valkyrie was trapped on earth with his brothers. A prophecy that they have to find 5 Valkyrie had them going to a bar where he found Rissa. Rissa is one of the Valkyrie they were looking for.
This first book explains the start of Rissa and Dax love story and the fight to protect the Valkyrie and the souls of the dead. Can’t say more otherwise it will spoil the story. Looking forward to the next book.
I absolutely LOVED it!!! Once I started I couldn’t put it down!!!! Rissa and Dax…SWOOON!!! They are so perfect for each other! I felt all the feels throughout the whole book!! The smexy times between them were soooo freaking HOT🔥🔥 I am completely obsessed with everything in this book! The whole plot is wonderful and the side characters are fantastic! I kept wanting more and now I can’t WAIT for the next one! I love this new world and I’m already obsessed with this series!!! Well done Nichole 🩷 Highly highly recommend this book!!!!
