Seventy-two filthy, vicious motorcycle hoodlums have taken over the fantasy isle of Catalina off the coast of Los Angeles. Their hostages are the island s seventeen hundred inhabitants, cowering from the butchery.
Also kidnapped are six top government thinkers attending a secret conference. The survival of everyone is paramount to the national security experts who call in Able Team.
Lyons, Blancanales and Schwarz begin a counter-insurgency of ruthless force. The terror cyclists have done far more than trash a tourist playground. So the strategy is: smash the whole scene into shards of blazing action!
Book number 2 in the Able Team series is a lot of fun and non-stop action.
A tourist island is taken over by the Outlaws motorcycle gang, which has taken 1400 hostages. They commence too loot, murder and rape whilst demanding a submarine and 20 million in gold. With access to the island limited and the gang having access to air traffic control and sonar equipment, normal infiltration by the police is not possible....so in the Able Team are called.
This is quite bloody with solid descriptions of limbs being torn off, explosions galore, old people getting tortured, and some sexual assault for good measure. It's basically non-stop with a simple plot but fun action. It's what you want out of these types of books. All of that in 190 pages. What more can you ask for?
The second book in the series is conceptually strong, telling the story of a group of violent outlaw bikers working in cahoots with a rogue Soviet agent to capture and hold for hostage Catalina Island off the coast of southern California. The narrative shifts from the incursion of Able Team and their efforts to rescue the 1500 local residents of the island that are being held captive, the captives themselves plotting a rebellion against the bikers guarding them, and a small band of locals that have evaded the outlaws and are planning their own attack. Tightly plotted and fast moving, this a wild ride of a book, although some may be turned off by the copious amounts of violence and gore inherent in these types of books.
Maybe closer to a 3.5 but I enjoyed it. Its a quick read and kept the action up. It didn't make a whole lot of sense but the basics is that a motorcycle gang of 70 or so took over Catalina Island off the coast of California. They took all of the citizens hostage, and with the radar on the island they could make sure no rescue mission could catch them by surprise. Though the three man Able Team could sneak onto it and take the fight to them.
Recommended if you are a fan of mens adventure or just reading through the glut of Bolanverse titles. Again doesn't make a whole lot of sense when it all comes out why this hostage taking was done, but its still a solid time waster.
Another awesome book to the series. Drug crazed motorcyclists takes over Catalina Island off the coast of Los Angeles and also kidnaps six top government thinkers attending a secret conference. The Able Team comes in to stop the ruthless bikers in total non stop action.
The island of Catalina is taken over by motorcycle Hoodlums. Among the hostages are 6 top government thinkers. Ale Team are tasked to rescue the thinkers and free the islanders.
It is a way better book than Able Team 1 and ups the stakes like crazy. A motorcycle gang has taken an entire island hostage and it’s up to the three man death squad to save the day.
The POV changes from the highly trained operators to the civilians on the island fighting for their lives. This gives us a great variety of action sequences.
One thing I’m happy with is that our heroes aren’t indestructible. They get hurt a lot in this one.
Overall Able Team 2 was a blast to read. You won’t find any deep, philosophical themes in this, but you’ll have a great time!
Evil bikers take over and island and a bunch of people get killed. Then Able team comes in blasting. One of those books where the climax is super rushed since the writer spent too much time on set up. Really one dimensional, but meh, it's a read and forget it book.
