BURNING TEARS is the third instalment in EC Land’s contemporary, adult SONS OF NORHILL TOPS erotic, romantic suspense series. This is thirty-six year old, mechanic/firefighter Mack Burns, and twenty-nine year old, Sidney Novak’s story line. BURNING TEARS can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Mack and Sidney) BURNING TEARS follows in the wake of Sidney Novak’s accidental arrival in Norhill Tops. Sidney Novak is a bit of a spoiled princess but our heroine witnessed something she should not have seen, and is on the run, for the sake of her life. Not only is her mother desperate to set her up with a ‘proper’ husband, but her father struggles with his daughter’s direction in life. An accident during a rain storm, and the encroaching fires near Norhill Tops, finds Sidney in need of rescuing. Enter mechanic/firefighter Mack Burns, and the man with whom Sidney will fall in love. As Mack struggles to navigate the who, what and why of our story line heroine, Sidney is keeping secrets that may endanger everyone she has met.
Sidney Novak is an independent woman who wants nothing to do with an arranged marriage for the good of the family but a woman who is on the run from New York, having witnessed a possible crime. Meeting Mack Burns means keeping her secrets for as long as possible but Mack suspects there is more to Sidney’s story than a woman setting out on her own. Mack Burns wants the same thing his brother has-a wife, a family, and someone to love, and Sidney seems to fit the bill but something is wrong, and Sidney is about to bring a truck load of trouble to the small town of Norhill Tops.
The relationship between Sidney and Mack begins as a rescue but Sidney’s attitude is acrimonious as best. She wants nothing to do with Mack, with the people or the town of Norhill Tops, she is hot tempered, determined and refuses to volunteer any information about who she is, and where she is going. Getting past the icy demeanor is a work in progress but Mack is about to meet his match when Sidney discovers some little lies from Mack. Burning Tears (Sons of Norhill Tops) by E.C. Land is the third book in this heartfelt romantic series about love, family bond and the destruction caused by wild fires. The storyline and characters are dynamic and and charismatic, the chemistry between Mack and Sydney was well worth the wait. Mack is the owner of the local garage and volunteer fire fighter and is the twin brother of the local sheriff. Mack is feeling that something is missing in his life as his siblings have all found love. When he is on a call he is notified that a car is stuck surrounded by a raging fire. When he makes his way to the car he rescues a young woman who is having a hard time breathing and passed out. With the fire all around them he will take her to a cabin until the danger passes. Sydney is a sexy, strong feisty graphic designer who fled New York and is on the run when she witnessed something she shouldn't, she is also also dealing with her domineering mother who wants to run her life, her Grandmother who is her best friend is the only one Sydney can count on. The interaction between Mack, sexy tattooed alpha male who is calm and in controlled of his feelings and Sydney who Mack can tell is wealthy, opinionated when she interacts with him as their banter is electrifying and full of humor especially when he calls her Princess. But with all of the arguing, Sydney is trying to halt the feelings this handsome man is bringing out in her as she knows she needs to leave but they end up in a love/hate relationship.

Mack was owner of the local garage and body shop in Norhill Tops as well as being on the volunteer fire department and twin brother of the local sheriff, Lawson. Going from one wildfire area to another that needed more assistance, he was called by helicopter pilot about car that hit a tree and fire encroaching on vehicle. He got to car and passenger, Sidney who was passed out, but came to, coughing from the smoke...she was beautiful...and took her to cabin safely above the fire area. She was graphic designer who left her New York home partly because of her overbearing mother and partly because of seeing a local politician and mafia guy with a pile of money between them...so not a trusting person right now...but Mack is getting her car fixed, taking her to his sister-in-law's resort until car operable again...both attracted, but she's a city gal, out of her depth in this backwater town...or is she, as she's very attracted to Mack...but you will need to read the story to see what happens...I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Mack is the twin brother of Lawson (Inheriting Trouble), he owns local garage and is a volunteer firefighter. During a wildfire, he saves Sidney from along side of the road. Sidney is on the run, never really divulging what is going on with her. Mack and Sidney banter back in forth, most of it is due to the quirk of Mack's nature. There is something about her that makes him want to keep her around longer.
The pair have such chemistry but there are things holding Sidney back, not looking to deviate from her plans. Mack has a way of talking the heat of the moment that makes the pair take two steps back. But Sidney is still keeping secrets that could impact their relationship.

June 26, 2023I have been waiting for Mack’s book and I was so excited to get my hands on this copy. It was all that I thought it would be and Mack is one of a kind. Sidney is on the run because of something that she innocently saw and when she has an accident in Mack’s home town he comes to her rescue. Although Mack knows Sidney is hiding something he does all he can to put her mind at ease that he would help her and protect her. This is a great series and I am loving each and every book. We have danger, suspense and romance and a wonderful couple who have a great connection and amazing banter. Loved it so much and am looking forward to reading so much more in this series.

I’ve been waiting for Mack’s story. I loved Mack and Sidney together. The banter and push and pull. Sidney is on the run from something she saw and shouldn’t have and has gotten herself in a precarious situation. Mack is funny, sarcastic, all alpha, protective for people he cares for. When he finds Sidney she stirs something inside him and he can’t help himself but feel protective of her and he knows that something big is going on with her. I enjoyed these two, their banter and Sidney’s sass and spunky made for a great read. Another great addition to the series and can’t wait for more. I found this book on BookSprout.

This is the 3rd book of this series and you don't have to read the first two to know the characters which I love. Mack is a business owner, mechanic, volunteer firefighter, and overall amazing guy with a great family. Sidney is a mystery and a sassy one at that. Found during a forest fire, Mack becomes the hero but it's so much more. She's running, she's hiding and keeping secrets that change the situation all the time.
This story was so great! I could not stop reading and now have to go back and get the others. Is there more? I feel like there is still more coming in this series. I cannot wait!

The back and forth between Mack and Sidney is fun. Mack is a great guy but he isn’t one for settling down. He isn’t quite the playboy that everyone thinks he is. He can tell there is something up with Sidney and while he doesn’t want her problems becoming one for the town, he does what he can to help her.
Sidney comes from wealth but she isn’t quite the society princess Mack thinks she is. She is on the run but isn’t looking to drag anyone into the middle of it. she has demanding parents and danger following her.

Mack and Sidney's story is the third book in the series. It is a twist and turn of events filled with danger, mystery with a mix of amazing characters that grab you from the start.
Mack and Sidney have a love / hate relationship as Mack is hesitant of Sidney and has his walls up, that she easily brings down. Every time they are around each other the tension is thick and powerful.

Burning Tears by E.C. Land is a story that will catapult your heart into the stratosphere! It follows Sidney (Princess) and Mack. She’s on the run from a number of dangers!! She gets caught in her car during a massive fire. Mack, a volunteer firefighter (among other things), rescues her. He takes her to a safe cabin until the fire and adjoining storm subside. There’s tons of backstory here and this is a delightful story full of trust issues, secrets, fears, danger, family problems, and, of course, romance!!! Wonderful read!!

Mack and Sidney's story seem to leap off the pages as I read. Their story played like a movie in my head as I read. These two have intense chemistry. They are both independent and stubborn. Mack is 100% alpha male. Protective of those he cares about no matter the circumstances. Sidney is sassy and feisty. I love their push/pull and banter. They kept me glued to my kindle until I readcthe last word. I simply couldn't put it down. I had to know could he keep her safe? Would they have a HEA? A must read series and book for me! 😍

Burning Tears is a heartfelt story that drew me into Mack and Sidney. He saves her from a fire and a connection form between them, but he is guarding his heart. As they spend time together those walls start falling down. Their path is filled with heated drama that had me in their corner to get their chance for happiness.

I Love this Couple! I think it's funny the way Mack and Sidney bicker and get on each others nerves then turn around and make wild passionate love. Sidney's a spit fire who finds herself in trouble and Mack's her knight in shining armor their story has humor, suspense and fires to put out. Sons of Norhill Tops is a really good series.

This was a good story with a hint of darkness but not nearly as much as some of this author’s other works. It was the third book in the series but can definitely be read as a standalone. It was Mack and Sydney’s story and it started with a lot of steam, the literal kind and then came the figurative kind as well. I liked the story.

💘💖💘 Mack and Sidney 💘💖💘 Sidney was running trying to find safety! Mack found her about to die in her car in a fire! This is a great continuation of the Norhill Top series by E.C. Land! It's a good story but I recommend reading the first two books before reading this book. You can read only this book but will be more enjoyable if you read the first two books!.

This is the third story in the "Sons of Norhill Tops" series and can be enjoyed as a stand alone read. This one is a fast paced and intriguing read with entertaining aspects. The story is about Mack and Sidney. I enjoyed this steamy story especially the witty banter. The story is interesting with betrayal, secrets, lies, family, drama, passion and trust. I like how the relationship develops between Mack and Sidney.

The plot was very well written and had a great flow.

Burning Tears is book #3 in the Norhill Tops series. It was an excellent read from start to finish. It’s Mack’s and Sidney’s story. I enjoyed his sense of humor and her sass. It’s a fast paced, easy to read romance with danger, suspense and steam. *this was a complimentary copy and this is my honest review*

I laughed out loud for the first time in a long time reading this book. Mack’s character is written in such a hilarious yet loving way that you can’t help laughing with him and at him. I didn’t think Sidney would ever grow the backbone I suspected was hiding in her but her character evolved just as she should have. Highly recommend reading the entire series!

So good!!!
I absolutely loved this story - mostly because I’ve been dying to get Mack’s book. He’s an amazing hero.
I didn’t care for Sidney too much as she was super wishy washy for most of the book but then she comes around in the end.
Great action, mystery and intrigue with all the super spicy stuff. Great read!!!

Romance, danger and characters who warm your heart. I love this series and getting to Mack story was well worth the wait.

He pulls her from her car which was damages and needed repairs which he can do. They stick together and she is very secretive about her life. He fixes her car and some people start asking about her. He's suspicious but she won't open up to him. It's a good book.

I loved Mack and Sidney and the way the author brought them together was perfect. These two had an instant connection from the start and their back and forth banter was the best. Great writing, danger, suspense, secrets, drama, humor, steam, and a great ending. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
