I had high hopes for this based on a couple of the poems I saw teased online, but it didn’t have that oomph I was looking for. The poems came across a bit shallow and it was generally repetitive. I wouldn’t be opposed to reading future works from this author but I think this particular book needed more peer review or editing before going to print.

Some of these were inspiring and others were so stupid it hurt

I really wanted to like this. There were a few good poems but most of them were shallow. I felt that the author could’ve done much more with some of them.

I only didn’t like this because it seems unoriginal. All of the things pasted on the pages in this book are things people or us women already say on a daily basis. No originalness what so ever.

I like some of the poems but others felt a little cringe or cliché. Other than that the poems I did like were great!

I decided to buy this book after seeing a couple of poems online that resonated with me.
I confess, however, to being disappointed with the rest of the book.
Only a few poems were worth noticing. The others were shallow and repetitive. It’s like reading the first drafts of something that could have been great. I also have the feeling of having heard word-for-word sentences elsewhere before, which takes away the originality.
I think the poems would have needed a little more work before being printed out.

An egregious collection of "poetry" much resembling the revelations most women experience at 12 years old. Aside from a few lines perhaps worth the print, the rest of this "book" may well have been ripped straight from white woman pinterest, the diary entry I wrote in a blind rage after old Jason Appleseed asked me for a hug at, again, 12 years of age, or else the quote wall one of my school counsellors had hung above her head (which included, among other gems: "But oh darling, what if you fly?") while she misdiagnosed me with post-traumatic stress disorder.
A sample of what this publication introduced to the world:
Dear Patriachy,
You are not allowed to have my body

I didn't realize that in order to become a Queen

I had to love myself first

Truly earth-shattering stuff. If you imagine the line of "thought" explored in this minute sample, dragged out across 180 pages, although as a matter of fact half of them are blank and none of them contain much more than a paragraph each, you've got a pretty good idea of what this "book" is like. As a matter of fact it took me about seven minutes to complete, and required a level of attentiveness and intelligent introspection I usually reserve for watching episodes of Dateline NBC.
Overall, a waste of paper. Not in the sense that it never deserved to be published (though this can certainly be argued) but in that no amount of this line spacing and exborbiant use of blank leaves could possibly in any world ever create any literary effect. I'm not even sure that the adjective "literary" should be used anywhere near this. I think I've read greater literature in Taylor Swift songs, and I'm not one to invoke that lightly.

Empowering. So many good reminders. Simple vocabulary.

A fast read. Some good lines but it mostly reads as poems from someone who has just taken their first class on feminism. Meant to be inspiring, but ultimately very superficial and juvenile.

2.5 ⭐️ I saw this book on booktok, I wanted to love it so much. I wanted every page to be worth turning. That was not the case. I think I tabbed maybe 7 pages out of the entire book. Authors/poets need to stop putting fluff in their books. EVERY page needs to be worth it.

Very Inspiring! We all need the reminder that we are strong, beautiful and independent women. It is so sad how we have come so far as women but still there is such a big difference between man and women. How women get treated and disrespected by men and society is just disgusting. We have to fear for ours lives and fight for equality constantly and that just because we are female?! I will not except this.
The book is a nice reminder of how strong women are and that being a woman is a POWERFUL thing.
It displays the toxic beliefs of society and the problems women have to phase in everyday life. All in all it’s an empowering book and I can recommend it to everyone out there, regardless of the gender.

We still have a long and hard way to go but I believe that together we can overcome every obstacle laid in our way.

Fuck the patriarchy!!! 🖕🏼

This was a good book to read. I needed to read something uplifting about women and how empowering and confident we can be in our own right against a patriarchal society that always tries to drag us down.

There were a fair few excerpts in there that I could heavily relate to as well as a few head nods as I reflect upon the state of society and how women are not only perceived, but also treated.

I would give it a read. It didn't take long for me to read the entire book. Less than 30 minutes.

I felt like it had potential; however, it fell short of my expectations. I read it once and then a second time. Each time, I felt like it was written by a teenager, which is not a bad thing. It was simply not the type of reading I was seeking. Even though the thoughts and scenarios she was conveying were powerful and important, I felt they got lost in the way she expressed them. Gave this book to my teenage sister because she will be able to appreciate it better with the good influence that this book will bring. Empowering her.

I thought this was going to be bussy because women and shit but this book just reinforced my beef with poetry. I really do love the idea and concept but I just despise poetry with my whole heart and soul. This is like the milk and honey book all over again, it kinda just gets repetitive after 169 pages of the same thing yk. But i truly loved the concept and execution, just not for moi

Not my typical type of book, but this is a beautiful tribute to women everywhere and encapsulates the struggles and feelings woman can endure 🤍 I don’t know if I would call it a book of quotes, short stories or poems but it is beautifully done. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ star read, but more of a pick-me-up quote book than a “reading” book. Pictured are some of my faves!

Many quotable pages. I do feel the crushing weight of society and pressure to be an "ideal" woman, so this affirmed my beliefs and made me feel vindicated that being a woman is incredible and something to cherish!!!

saw these poems a lot of my TikTok & it inspired me to buy the actual book. I had quite a few poems that I had to take a second cause they hit home for me. This made me want to raaaaage on men. I gave it 4 stars cause I wish it was longer.

Poetry and prose.
Mya gave a great example of what it is to be a woman—past and present.
We never see things until someone else says them and that particular way makes you feel things you didn’t anticipate on feeling.
I enjoyed the short book of poetry and found some nice gems.

Thought the reviews were harsh so I bought the book anyway because of a poem I seen on tiktok. I should have listened to the reviews. Shallow entries. Maybe 4-5 decent poems. I was being gracious with the 3 stars.

Really enjoy this poetry book even though I can see why some of the reviews call parts “cheesy”. The thing is, cheesy is relatable. Not all this need to be unique to the point that no one else has ever thought anything like it. I resonate with many part of these poems and it’s an easy fast read. One I will definitely come back to.

There were a few poems that I really liked and connected with. Several were a little cringe, but this author is clearly just starting out, so I’m giving her the benefit of the doubt. Women stick together!

I love the sentiments of this poetry collection, but I’m nota huge fan of the poetry itself. It’s very repetitive and lacks depth and novelty. There were a few that made me really think, but the rest were not super unique or insightful.
