A lavishly illustrated celebration of the role and significance of charm jewelry presents historical and anecdotal information about the symbolic meanings of charms, references the collections of such individuals as Grace Kelly and Marlene Dietrich, and cites the twenty-first-century's growing charm popularity.
I'm taking a jewellery making class at the moment that focuses on charms, so I thought this book might be a good place to look for inspiration. It's pretty much one long advert for 'Links of London' where you can go and make pricey charm bracelets featuring 'the killer heels that every girl wants'. The photos are good but this is a very light read and there is very little about the history of charms- lots about film stars and fashion designers, but almost nothing about how charms are used by ordinary people.
