Felix Orbus Galaxy #1

Possessed by the Leonid King

Rate this book
Layla and Rupex should never have crossed paths.

But now that they have—they could be each other’s salvation.

Rupex is the King of a decimated pride and the captain of the Comet Stalker, a starcraft traveling through the Felix Orbus Galaxy on a quest to avoid more loss and heartache. After Queen Fever killed almost all the pride females of cub-bearing age, the Leonids are facing a population crisis. Rupex needs to start living again after losing the women in his life. Could a human surrogate carry his child and reawaken his interest in life?

Layla is a scrappy survivor from Sapien-Three, a ravaged planet where most humans sell themselves to the highest bidders in hopes of staying alive. When an unexpected encounter with a towering, savage-looking lion-man shows her a better way, she jumps at the opportunity. Layla knows that being his surrogate could set her up for a comfortable life where she’ll never struggle again. She just has to get the proud, stubborn King to see her as an equal and accept her proposal!

From Possessed by the Leonid King“Surrogacy is not an option. Surrogacy is medical, clinical, and the father of the child has a purely professional relationship with the mother.”

“If you pay me, that makes it professional.” Layla gave him her best, brightest smile.

The elevator car shook with the force of his sudden enraged roar. “This isn’t a joke, human!”

“I wasn’t laughing, Leonid!” I wasn’t laughing at all. I might have peed a little…

“My medical officer has been researching a way to make human eggs compatible with Leonid sperm. It can be done. What cannot be done is artificial insemination. Our systems are compatible but different. I would have to breed you. Do you know what it is like to be bred by a Leonid? It’s not a single occurrence. I would have to possess you, over and over, day after day,” he panted, towering over her, his glowering eyes inches from her own.

Layla shook her head, jaw popping open as his massive frame covered hers. She was able to see ridge after ridge of muscle through the snug material of his uniform coat, and the muscles of his thighs stood out like ropes.

And there was something sizable between them, something proportionate to the head-sized paws pressing into the steel walls on either side of her face.

No, I can’t imagine what it would be like to be possessed by the Leonid. But I want to find out…

HR Letter vs Sci-Fi Letter Fun Read
For my own entertainment (because I never know what to choose from my TBR) I've chosen a book starting with the same letter from two genres: Historical Romance and Sci-Fi Romance.

This the Sci-Fi for the letter P

Both 'P' books have been a great success!

Possessed by the Leonid King was my first book by S.C. Principale and I'm very glad to say won't be my last.

You for real?????

Are you for real it ended with the biggest cliffhanger I’ve ever read what the hell. That’s totally annoying. You left them in the middle of space and the mc still pregnant. Honestly, I don’t like how it ended. I was hoping to read more of her pregnancy. I also thought she was going to be pregnant for like half the story which I would have not minded I really enjoy books like that. Anyway, I’m still shocked at the ending. Now I have to read the second book that I didn’t want to read because Wendy story doesn’t interest me as much as the one I just finished.

Cute read, but super annoyed that the whole plot is about procreating and then ends before the birth. I understand the 2nd book covers it, but not as the main characters.

4&1\2 terrific 🌟's for Possessed by the Leonid King💖🌟

This was so good and a very pleasant surprise for me. I was looking for something new to read and this popped up in my kindle unlimited it looked really interesting and this is a new author for me so I decided to take a chance. I'm so very glad I did. It was a really solid first book in a series, pretty good word building and great memorable characters. Rupex is a King a leader of his small pride. a rather striking male lead who has experienced tragedy and is just going through the motions of living. His people were struck down by a terrible virus that hit the females of his species the hardest. He lost his mother and sister to the disease and didn't have much hope to have a family of his own. One of his oldest friends the doctor onboard his ship has found a way to possibly make a human female compatible. Layla a young human female who was sold and wakes on the Leonid ship has found her self is a interesting situation. When the captain finds out she did not offer up her contract willingly he makes sure she is freed and they negotiate a new contract. Layla has never been treated so well and she's strongly attracted to Rupex. Being human is difficult if you're not among the elite and wealthy. many like Layla must offer up their services in the form of a contract just to make ends meet. The contract she negotiates with Rupex isn't supposed to involve feelings. Both end up getting more than they bargained for A new life, love , family and a place to belong. I'm looking forward to reading the second book in the series. I don't want to give any more away UT it was truly enjoyable, spicy in the best possible way, funny and truly heart warming. Give it a try 🌟💖🔥💖🌟💖🔥💖🌟💖🔥💖🌟💖🔥💖🌟💖🔥🌟💖🔥💖🌟

Needs a little something more

A good book has world building, character development, and a steady plot with a resolution. There's a broken, often vague, and a lot left out in the world building. The characters stretch out a little, but it isn't really development so much as just glomming to each other and calling it good. There's a plot but it stays firmly in the background. The premise is good. I like that she stands by her choices, isn't a hand wringer, and is practical- as many people in poverty are. Panic is a luxury the poor can't afford. Plans, short and long range, and adaptability are the rules of the game. I love that the moment she lets them know she wasn't there willingly they made sure her situation changed. And I greatly appreciate that this isn't a fated mate scenario. Even better, though they're from vastly different species and cultures they are both committed to open communication. While the conversations start off clinical on nature, there's never a lack of being open. I just wish we had gotten to see all those weeks of bonding that got skipped over. Him teaching her to use the research computer. Him showing her the family homestead. Them talking about how they want to raise their family. Her teaching him human games. Them discussing and reminiscing about their lost families. So many lost opportunities. The very few scenes we did get were more dedicated to steam than romance.

Possessed by the Leonid king

Rupex is a Leonid king full of pompous racist ideas about fraternisation with other species especially humans. His people have lost most of their females to a plague that only affects women and girls of childbearing years. It even took his sister and potential Queen. His grief has been contained in travelling on his superior spaceship but he finally accepts that he is alone and lonely. His friend, and doctor on board surprised him with an untenable solution. Lalya has been trafficked by a potential boyfriend and through no fault of her own ends up agreeing in desperation to a contract with Rupex. A very full on sexy story, that holds nothing back, of two unlikely people coming together, to help each other for various reasons but mostly money. Layla is a constant inspiration of honesty, integrity, intelligence and forthriteness. Once Rupex loosened up, I adored him.

Fantastic introduction to space themed romance!

So normally I avoid space themed books. They just aren't my thing. I decided to take a chance on this one because it hit my monster niche and others said it was super spicy, boy they were right.

What rhey left out was the amazing plot and character building without compromising the spice. This author has grasped that delicate balance. Sh3 set it up well enough you can't wait to see what happens in future books before you've even finished this one just to follow the storyline.

So if you're into monsters, a little primal play, a whole lot of spice that will make you reach for your nightstand top drawer, this is the one for you. And if you've never read a space based romance novel with beasts, this is the one to pop your cherry with!

Oh! Such a good cute book! Sure Layla and Rupex got off on the wrong foot. There definitely was some prejudices that they had to work through. But it was a beautiful story between two broken characters.
Layla hasn’t had an easy life. She has lived in poverty her whole life, knowing that you can lose the ones you love. Rupex had everything going for him until a virus wiped out a huge amount of the female population on his world. So he knows the loss of loved ones.
Seeing these two come together and open their hearts to one another was beautiful and fun and exciting to read. The scenes were super steamy and for those of us who love reading about sexy scenes with nonhuman lovers? Definitely pick this one! Loved it!

TOO MUCH SEX IT GETS BORING

I’m not too impressed. The major plot is sex on every other page but the secondary plot involving relationships is, to me, the better of the two. There is so much sex in this book it got boring and I started skipping those pages to get back to the plot I liked. I’d like to read Book #2 but if it’s all sex this time around forget it. There are other series that I’ll read first. I started Book #6 first but stopped because I had no idea what was going on. Then I switched to Book #1 which helped to explain what’s going on. If you want a book full of sex this is for you.

I don’t like the cover art it’s too much like a comic book. I’ve passed over this series because of the cover but I changed my mind and read Book #1.

This book was just ok for me. The heroine had to basically beg him to let her be his surrogate.

Then immediately he catches feelings and wants her to really stay and be the mother of his cubs. But he doesn't tell her that. He tries to help her find her friends and buy her a new house on Earth (if she wants it as payment). So he does try to woo her in his way.

Then there were lots of sad parts with his dead sister's clothes and him missing her and his medical officer also lost his wife and talks about how much he misses her. It was just a lot of sadness for a romance novel.

I really enjoyed this. What a fun "repopulate a species" story! I loved that Ru organically fell for Layla. It didn't feel forced at all and Layla was so pragmatic about her need for a better life and the options she'd realistically have that I felt the development was totally believable. Now, the second half of this book is pure steam/spice, but I thought Marcus was a cute supporting character and I can't wait for her friends to get on board and they can all be a "family" again!

There was more steam in this book than I would have liked (I prefer two sex scenes per book), but I'm a big girl and I didn't have any problem skimming past them. I stuck with this book and moved on to the next two books in the series because of the world the author created. It was interesting to read a book set in a universe where the humans messed up not one but two planets and severely overcrowded a third.

Another cute, quick 'monster' romance (he's an alien!). It was exactly what was advertised (I found this through MDK, I think?); cinnamon roll LORGE hero, low angst, happy ending. My preferred romance, honestly. I love me some big, loving, cinnamon roll monsters.

4 stars, will definitely be checking out the next book.

Good light read!

I recently went back into reading so I chose this for a light read before I head into my usual heavier books. It's great and I love their dynamics as usual. I haven't met Jaxson in this story yet but I'm growing to love him already! Love the kitty references, too.

cute and fun read

This was a really interesting story. I was intrigue with the story line. Okay cool… now let’s dive into it. This book made me horny. I enjoy the scenes more then i was expecting. As i got closer to the end some scenes i could have been okay without but i just wanted to see how the story ends. So now I’m ready to read the next one in this series

Loved it

Lovely romance, decent spicy scenes, loved the added kinkiness. My only 2 complaints are 1. Some spicy scenes were either cut short or just skimmed over. 2. Pregnant belly kicks were described as bubbling, and that made me imagine someone boiling water 🤦‍♀️ but to each their own, I guess. 🤔
Aside from that, great story telling, I can't wait to read the next one. 😊

I liked it, but the period sex was a bit too much for me. Not my cuppa. Also, there’s a pandemics happening while the MCs are trying to conceive. It was a bit triggering. In general the story was OK, and I was expecting some mentions of past pandemics, with the “Queen Fever” and all, but I didn’t expect it to happen on page.

Sexy, sweet, possessive, and definitely extra hot, this book follows a captivating story of a contract with a sizzling Leonid Captain; playful encounters, romantic moments, intense heat (he eats her on her period, tail play, ) 🔥. *chefskiss *

Excellent book! I loved the premise that all the Queens (or female Leonids) were dead or infertile, leading to the solution presented.
My favorite part was the drama was minimal and their relationship developed so quickly but naturally.
Cannot wait for book 2!

Read and Enjoyed

Well... Here kitty kitty! I really enjoyed this book. It could have easily been longer and still had more than enough fodder for the second, but was still so so good. A little insta-lovey but didn't feel unnatural. Well done over all.

Sweet

Layla and rupex were a good couple, and i enjoyed reading their story. Ended kind of abruptly, and so many referenceof queens and kings made it a bit repetitive, but i will definitely be sticking around for the rest of the series!!

This book is a true delight for anyone who digs the protective/possessive, grumpy at everyone but you, first few to branch out to humans vibe. This book has all that and enough steam to run a sauna. 5/5 stars

A surprisingly sweet while spicy alien romance. I wasn't expecting much as this was a first volume by an unknown to me author. While short, I really enjoyed this story and the changes the characters went through.

Looking forward to volume 2.

A very sexy piece with a noble lion and the lovely human whose life he saved and made complete. I enjoyed the supporting characters in this as well.
