I enjoyed this book enough to finish reading it but I have a few problems with this book.

I think the idea of the plot of this book was good but the execution of it was laking.

Firstly the first 30% of this book there doesn't really happen anything and we follow secondary character than the main characters. It feels more like the author didn't knew what to with the start so put some fill chapters in.

The pacing of the book is allover the place from the start it is going slowly to going so quick you don't register what is happening to just abrupt ending

The 2 big conflicts in the book felt like they were over before it began and then the ending in this book was very confusing and didn't end probably.

There also was quit a lot of spelling mistakes in the book.

First of all OMG!!! This book was a complete rollercoaster with a emotions… As of now this has been the best Fantasy/Dark Romance I’ve read so far. Prince tried his best not to fall in love with the Enemy’s daughter and the king never stop loving Cassia after 10 years and never stopped looking for her. Funny, action, drama, and heartbreak. She did a twist at the end of the book that had me in tears and left the complete ending on a cliffhanger. I loved every part of this book. I loved it. I cannot wait for book 2

Love this book, love this author

I’ve only read a couple of books by this author but boy does she know how to evoke emotions in the reader. This was a reread to refresh myself before readin* the rest of the series. Just as good the second time around.

HIGHLY recommend this book and the author.

A little different from my usual genre. I'm generally vanilla in my romance and fantasy romance reading and this is a lot more steamy than the fantasy romance I prefer.
It was well-written with fairytale and dark fantasy with a more sophisticated feel. Perfect if you like very sexy spice and dark romance. My favorite character was definitely Prince Valon. Great conflict and drama.

I really enjoyed reading this book it's like two love stories in one mixed with fantasy and magic. I loved how devoted Valon is to Cassia. I also found Cane and Marilyn's relationship to be very amusing. The story is told from Valon, Cassia and Cane's POV and I wish the author would of put Marilyn's pov in there as well. She was very smart and funny and would of liked to read about what was going on in her head as well.

This is certainly not your average erotic romance novel. It has fairy-tale and dark fantasy elements which will appeal to adults. There were some flaws, but I was able to overlook them because it was such an enjoyable read. Recommended if you enjoy erotica, fantasy, or dark romance.

Enjoyable read

Aside from the edit and grammatical issues this was a page turner. The characters are fascinating and the plot was intriguing.

There are winged men in this story. There is magic. There are princes. Ladies are in waiting. There are some clever ideas here. It is a mixture of romance, fantasy, and erotica. The romance is okay. There is a prince and all the women wanting to be his lady fair. Of course, the prince falls for his enemy's princess. Of course. Very Prince Charming and Cinderella or Romeo and Juliet with magic. There is even a grand ball. The idea of two brothers trying to find love is not that original. I liked the struggle of Cane the prince. Wished for a little more. Liked the differences of the brothers and their journeys toward love, but that was to be expected. There are some clever moments in the book. The interaction between Cane and Marilyn are interesting. The fantasy aspect is enjoyable and the author seems to find their footing in the telling of the fantasy elements. There I was surprisingly entertained. The erotica is a bit tame for my taste. I just expected more. Personal preference. Did not feel overwhelmed or grossed out by the erotic nature of the story. Sadly, the erotica seemed to slow the pace of the story, if that is possible. Not in a good way. The hardest criticism of this book is the lack of digital formatting. There were some grammatical issues that were a bit jarring. I hope that the author uses a better editor for the next book. Speaking of formatting, the book is not formatted right for reading with a Kindle, and that was a real drawback. It was a tough read on Kindle. Sadly, the Kindle version is a replica of the printed book, and the two mediums do not transfer. The Kindle form is distinctively different. It was a challenge to read this book on Kindle.

Valon and Cain are brothers on a deadline, one a king and one a prince. Valon has until his birthday to marry and solidify his rule, Cain is the wildcard in the story and will do anything to help his brother fine his lost love, even distracting the enemy princess and Valon’s betrothed. Princess Marilyn is a pawn in her brothers game to steal power with the help of a the “evil step mother” who doesn’t want the brothers to rule. The was a lot of build up, so I couldn’t get into it as much as I would like! Can’t wait to see where their stories go in book 2. Spice level: 3.

A quick summary for other potential readers

The book follows two brothers. One is in search of the first love he has lost and the other... Our other is a prince trying his hardest not to fall in love with the enemy's princess, who is more of a victim than her family lets on. Two love stories in one, and both have very different feels we can all find something in we identify with.

Simple storyline to follow. It’s more romance than fantasy. The fmc is too childlike for me to enjoy it. Didn’t know it was an erotica going into it. Also, the scenes are kinda sporadic creating an awkward flow. It is not my cup of tea but I appreciate the presence of a plot.

Bought this for my kindle since I received the 2nd book from a raffle on Goodreads but I don’t really have a desire to continue the trilogy.

Decent read

Decent enough read and fairly well written. Could use some professional editing, but that's expensive. Not taking points off for that
