I love short stories and flash fiction. This series did not disappoint me. There are 31 different stories in this collection - some that are a bit lighthearted, others that will make you think, and others that will make you shudder. Wrong number is one of the stories in this collection, and it made me laugh out loud. Seriously - if you are in the market for some quick stories that you can read on your lunch break, right before you go to bed, or just a way to make a boring phone conversation more interesting, get a copy of this. I recommend it highly!!
As a writer of flash fiction I was obviously interested to see what a collection would be like. I wasn't disappointed! What I love about flash fiction is that you can read it so quickly. Even if you've only got a couple of minutes, you can delve into this book and read about someone's life.
These tales are extremely varied. Whenever you start a new one, you never know what to expect. Some are funny, some adventurous, some read like science-fiction and some are sad.
Flash fiction is on the rise. People have less and less time and it's also easy to read on e-readers and iphones. If you're thinking of giving flash fiction a go, I would recommend this collection!
I loved the idea of this - a flash fiction written every day for a month - and I wasn't disappointed. This collection contains a wide variety of subjects from setting achievements using toilet rolls as markers of time to the horror of finding your wishes have been granted. The stories are well-crafted, sometimes humorous, sometimes moving, but always accessible. Well worth reading!
