After a rough childhood, Hammer settled down to live the good life. He had a wife he adored, children he doted on, and even the house in the suburbs with the white picket fence. But most of all, he finally had the stability he longed for growing up.
When he made a decision to help a woman in need, that bliss was short-lived. What he thought was a horrible accident changed his life forever. Blinded by rage, he committed a crime that sent him to prison and gave him the nickname his brothers know him by now. He lost everything he’d worked so hard for while trapped behind those prison walls. He’s been searching for that life again since the day of his release.
Pita learned early on that information was the key to her freedom, but she needed a little help to find a new life with her children. After meeting the only man she’s found she could trust, she got that help but vowed to herself to repay that kindness however she could. When the man’s life spun out of control, Pita stepped in and fulfilled her vow, changing the lives of everyone involved.
Now, it’s Hammer’s turn to rescue Pita, even though she’s perfectly capable of rescuing herself and her children this time. Life’s twists and turns in the years since they first met have formed a bond between them that neither wants to sever. If they’re lucky, it will lead to a happiness neither had ever dared to dream of.
I liked this one, but it felt different from the others in the series. A lot of the book was Pita, doing her bad ass stuff and Pita adjusting to her new life and becoming a member of the coven. The guys were around a bit, but not much. Even scenes between Hammer and Pita were sparse. It felt like not a lot happened overall.
Hammer wants back what he lost. His past is filled with tragedy and even when he went to prison he didn't stop living. He is a man on a mission though and is looking for his daughters which he has a strong lead on. What he didn't expect is the woman he helped escape her abusive husband to be the mother to his children after his ex gave them up.
Pita has always held fond memories for Hammer. This is why she kept tabs on his kids when he went to prison. Finding out she can now return to Texas and have Hammer be with his kids has her moving swiftly. She doesn't plan to give them up though and is surprised when Hammer has a solution. Pita is her own brand of crazy and Hammer likes every facet of her. He wants revenge, she wants revenge to those that wronged her kids. Can they work together to snuff out the problem?
I think in the Tenillo Guardians series Pita might be my favorite. There were some laugh out loud moments and she is tough, calculating and fascinating. I have for a long time been waiting for Hammer's story and this was even better than what I thought. Excellent read.
4.5 stars. So. I did really enjoy this book. I’ve been hoping for Hammer’s book since we first met him a few books prior. But… The relationship in this has zero development…and then zero follow through.
They meet. She moves in. They get together. The end.
I loved the humor. I loved that the FMC is a complete and utter badass who is surprising the men on the daily. I love the girls. But I really wanted some romance between them, and I just wasn’t really feeling it from what we got on page. I mean. I’m not saying they weren’t perfect for each other. They for sure were. But I would’ve liked some getting to know you scenes. And then some living with you, together, scenes.
The middle. I wanted the middle and we basically just got the beginning and end of the book.
Still…I’ll be super excited to see who’s next to fall..
This story was incredible, exciting, entertaining and just WOW!!!. Cee couldn't have written a better story for Hammer than this!!!. And of course you can't forget the coven🤗😁. I absolutely love, love, this group of people. Cee is a Fantastic storyteller and is a PHENOMENAL writer!!!.
I have loved Hammer since the first time he started belting out lyrics and I love him even more now! Hearing about his life and his family was heartbreaking. Learning about Pita and what she did was heartwarming. The two of them finding each other is amazing. The fact that they are both such strong individuals makes it even better. Love their story!! ❤️
Ever since Hammer was in jail and found out his wife had disappeared with his daughters he's been searching for them. When he got out of prison he continued his search. Finally he got a break while in NY for a wedding, an old friend reached out and told him he think he found his wife. Their meeting wasn't a pleasant one because when he was in prison he found out that she knew the man who killed their son. He was a drug dealer the she was buying pills from, he hit him with his car and she let him drive away with her son for drugs. He was the reason Hammer was in jail, when he asked her about daughters she proceeded to tell him she sold them to the woman he'd helped years ago. Pita had been keeping an eye on Hammer even before she approached all thoses years ago, even while he was in prison so when she was told about how his wife was treating the girls she sort her out and gave her money for them.Pita had been waiting for her husband to die before she could come back home and reunite them with their dad. She'd been running since Hammer helped her escape over twenty years ago. Since he found out started to search for them, every time he got close she was gone as a result he was no longer himself, Hammer was always breaking out in a song,he stopped singing. Then one day leaving work he and Captain were leaving the office when they spotted a young girl hiding behind Cap's truck. When they went to investigate there wasn't one girl but two and they weren't lost they were looking for him, they were his long lost daughters. That was the beginning of their life and journey together, after talking to the girls and finding out the woman that raised them, loved them had been kidnapped, they all had but she made sure they escaped. Now Hammer had another mission, find Pita and find her he did what he also found was that she didn't need rescued because she rescued herself. They didn't become co-parents they became a family. GREAT STORY!!😍😍😍
This is the 23rd book in the Tenillo Guardians series (but the 12th book about the Time Served MC). While it is a standalone, I truly believe that reading the previous books 1-22 in the series will enhance your enjoyment of this book. This book is about Hammer (aka Hugh Reynolds/Denny Grey) of the Time Served MC and Pita (aka Gabriella Gomez). Do you love a man that sings (sometimes at the most inopportune times)? If so, Hammer is the man for you. In this book we learn about how Hammer became the man he is today enduring some of the most tragic things a person can and how a woman named Pita brings back the joy and the songs to his life. Pita is truly the best match for Hammer. This book has it all it sexy times, laughs and a few answers.
Cee writes stories of wonderfully strong women who meet and fall for strong, protective alpha males and this one is no exception. I really would love to be part of this girl tribe (aka the Crazy Coven). This series is a bit darker than her other series, but I loved it.
A few more clues as to what is going on in the not-so-sleepy town of Tenillo, Texas but we will need to read more stories to get all the answers. I can’t wait for all the rest of the stories and if I could; I’d live in Tenillo, TX.
The series will alternate between the Time Served MC (by Cee Bowerman) and the Ares Infidels MC (written by Ciara St James).
Hammer (Time Served MC Book 12) by Cee Bowerman blew me away. In this series, Hammer has been a bit of an unknown, a mystery to solve. Turns out, there is a whole lot about Hammer to be revealed! His past is unusual, heartbreaking, tragic just to name a few elements, and made me wonder at his happy go lucky attitude in previous books. But that attitude takes a severe shift after the trip to New York which has his club brothers and their ladies extremely concerned. Turns out there's a really good reason to be concerned! Enter Pita, someone from his past that changed his future and rocks his present. She's a force to be reckoned with and that is putting it mildly. Overall, Hammer's heart is healed as a long awaited reunion is made possible thanks to Pita. Admiration from a distance that lasted over time becomes love and finally the family he has always wanted and longed for. This book, for the long overdue HEA and so many more reasons, is not to be missed. I read an ARC of this book and voluntarily share my review.
The jokesters with the big smile are the folks that are quietly hiding their pain on the inside. Hammer is always bursting into song, any song that he thinks fits the occasion. It drove his brothers crazy but its even worse when he stops. The past is a weight he has carried for so long but that finally comes to an end. I went through so many emotions. I always liked him, he was such a great character but I knew he was more than he seemed. Pita was a part of that mysterious past, a bigger part than he ever knew. She fantasized about the man for years and now they are finally together. She is one tough lady, a perfect match for Hammer. A formidable woman, she could have taken over a country without breaking a sweat. I loved her and she was a wonderful edition to the Coven! So flipping entertaining, I wish this series would never end!
I have absolutely adored this series so far! Especially mixing it with the Ares Infidels series too. This book was good but I feel as though it was rushed and not quite up to par compared to the previous ones. It makes me sad because I was soooo looking forward to Hammers’ book and to see what woman would take him on and love him. Honestly I wasn’t a huge fan of the FMC in this one, she seemed a little selfish/unfriendly but that could be because I felt this book was too short, I’m not sure. The connection between her and Hammer seemed to be lacking a little too..
Overall, I still highly recommend this series and the AI series that goes with it. This book just fell a little flat for me.
This was everything I hoped for and then some. While every member of the coven has been perfect for their Tenillo Guardian it was obvious Hammer was uniquely damaged by his past and the loss of his family, and that it was going to take someone truly spectacular to bring him peace. I absolutely loved Pita and how she and the girls fit in seamlessly with the Crazy Coven and their emotional support cheese. Thank you for bringing us these amazing stories that provide moments where we find ourselves emotionally invested one moment and laughing out loud during another.
Ok, she has a ton of connections, but couldn't let him know that she has his children? If this was reversed, she would be livid that he had taken her kids and not let her know anything for years. How was he not mad? Yes, they had a lovely life and education. But she bought his kids, basically renamed them, and didn't let him know anything for YEARS. Her main reason was that it wasn't safe bc her husband was after him. But her husband and father were after her and she didn't give up her kids. The book was ok, but nope. I would be raging if I was him. Instead, he's just happy the kids got a good education and they are back now. I just don't get it.
Once again, absolute perfection. I have always loved Hammer and all of his singing, so I was really sad to see him so sad. When I found out why I totally understood. This is a wonderful story of it never being too late to find love. There's tragedy, heartbreak and love in this book and I know this is so redundant but I have never read a book by this author that has not been absolute perfection. I cannot say enough good things about this book! If you haven't started the series go to the beginning and start now! If you've read the series then what are you waiting for? Get this book!
Hammer's story is one I've definitely been waiting on, and it didn't disappoint! There were some things I was not expecting, but I definitely loved the spin on things. Cee is so good at that!! Now I want to be Pita when I grow up. This woman is definitely kickass she is know wilting flower she fits in with the Crazy Coven perfectly. It was amazing how the two could come together and be a happy family even if Hammer got a crash course in living with three females, two being teenagers. This was quite entertaining!!
Hammer and Pita's story was so good. Hammer his children, Pita and her older children each went through horrible things in their life. To find out how strong and capable Pita is to survive, and survive she did. Pita is definitely a good fit with the crazy coven. I enjoyed reading about the women and what they've been up to. I missed them. I am so glad the women and men of Time served were all an important part in this story. I really enjoyed it Hammer's story is one you don't want to miss out on.
This book has all the feels,Hammer’s story is heartbreaking and heart warming,I’ve been looking forward to Hammer’s story since we first met him in the beginning of the series, wondering what type of special lady would win his heart and Cee did not disappoint.I cried and I laughed and I loved this story ❤️🖤 If you have not read Cee’s books yet do yourself a favour and start now.
Lots of MS Bowerman faithful readers have been waiting on Hammer and she did not disappoint not in a million years would I have imagined his story. In all the other books he showed up in you saw pieces of who he was. His beginning how he took care of his family and then how he fixed things for Gabriella. Then came the crying part. I will say this this part of the book even though the worst made this story so much more understanding Hammer. Thank you, Cee Bowerman.
I didn't stop reading Hammer once I started reading from the prologue. I loved the snippets of Hammer's character throughout the books for Tenillo Guardians series and was excited to get his full story! He found the perfect match in Pita and it's always great to keep up with the rest of the characters we all know and love. Knocked it out of the park again Cee Bowerman!
Lol, omg I laughed so hard at parts. Cee did a great job on giving us the backstory to Hammer and it moves you to tears. She gave him a strong woman that did something surprising but not really unexpected when you think of a mother's love. As usual the crazy coven does not disappoint with their hijinks. If they pick a book series to make into a tv show this series and their partner series Aries Infidels) need to be top running!
Cee Bowerman has done it again. Hammer is an example of how the people we see happy, smiling, and singing all the time have internal turmoil. When you notice you friends or family change rally around them and don't stop asking questions like Time Served family. Great example of how a family can be the people you choose, not just born with. Great job Bowerman!
I have been Looking forward to Hammer's book for a while and was excited to see what kind d of woman would catch him. I am very disappointed in this book that really seem rush and very lacking in chemistry between him and the female lead. I just feel like this book wasn't as good as the previous ones. pita just seemed to over the top and self centered and stand offish. I just didn't feel her for Hammer.
I truly enjoyed this book. The characters are zany, funny, moral and tough, men and women. Every page was more entertaining than the previous one. I hated when I finished it. Highly recommend. It is humorous, but not slapstick. This entire series by Cee B is one I have enjoyed reading several times and now I want to go back and start all over again. HEA, no cheating, no cliffhanger.
I love, love every moment of a Cee Bowerman book and am always sad to see them end. I particularly enjoyed Hammer. He seems so psychotic but we get to see the true man behind all the songs. He and Pita are a great match and seeing them get together is heartwarming. It gives hope that anyone can find their match. If you get an opportunity, please read anook by Cee. She writes more than just MC romance and every book is a great adventure.
I've loved Hammer since his first introduction into this series. He's hilarious and his breaking out into song is just perfect. Reading about his history was heartbreaking. Pita is one helluva kick ass lady. She fits in perfectly with The Coven. As per usual this book provided a lot of laughs and it was great to get reacquainted with all the characters. Missed everyone since reading the last book which took place in New York. Hoping there's more coming real soon.
Hammer has lost a lot in life. Things begin to fall into place once he meets and helps Pita escape with her children. Little did he know that she'd be his salvation, too.
This story begins with action and ends full of action, too. My only question is, will there be more coming where they apprehend the other villain in this story?
This is the 12th book in this phenomenal series and what a great addition this story is. This is a well written story which has engaging and realistic characters, witty banter, humour, intrigue, suspense, twists, danger, challenges, emotions, and love which all leads to an entertaining, unpredictable, and steamy, thrilling page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
This is another good book in the series and I loved finally finding out Hammer’s story at last and read about him finding his woman. The story was good and I liked that there was another little step forward in the overarching storyline and I’m starting to get excited as it appears the end is closing in. I loved the characters and that the FMC was a really strong one who could hold her own not just with Hammer but with the rest of the TSMC.
I have wanted Hammers story since we met him and what a story it was! I was expecting this book to be light hearted and jovial because come on its Hammer, but it was anything but, yes there was humour but we also had the angst Cee is know for writing. I absolutely loved Hammer and Pita - plus the girls. Was an excellent book and can't wait to see what happens next!
There's so much in Hammer's past that affects his future. He is a sweet, loveable man but he isn't always as carefree as he seems. So many surprises throughout the book but it explains so much about the way he is and I think in the end he will be singing even more than ever
