A kiss, a crush, and one big secret.AARON Holding onto a flame for a forbidden crush, Aaron might’ve pushed himself a little too far out of his comfort zone this time. Like every other severely underlaid twenty-something, Aaron was looking for someone to fill that hole. And that’s where his best friend’s brother came in…oops!
Will Aaron accept the love he’s manifested?
CHRISTIAN Leaving Shaftdale several years ago, Christian left an impression on Aaron’s lips. And now he’s back to start a business. He’s matured into the true Daddy he was always meant to be, and ready to rekindle a passion with someone special.
But can Christian make up for lost time?
Kisses, crushes, and a good time are coming to Shaftdale.
The Cinnamon Roll Crush is the third in the Shaftdale Daddies series. This series is low angst, high heat, and stuffed with feels. Visit Shaftdale and find your Daddy today.
Heya! I'm Joe Satoria, I write sweet and spicy MM romances.
I mostly write Daddies and D/s dynamics in my pairings... some soft and sweet, other dark and dangerous.
As a queer person using he/they pronouns, I am an own voices author, which means you're reading through the eyes of lived experience... only the gay relationships part, definitely not the dangerous Daddies... oops!
I just don't understand how these adult people can tell other adult people, who they can date, who they can see, and who they can love....and expect them to adhere to it??? The other thing that I don't get is that the people that are being given this order, actually, almost always listen to them!!!. Maybe someone can someday explain this to me. In the meantime, ... We have Christian who has had a major crush on Aaron, who is his best friend’s little brother for years and he knew, since he had been informed numerous times, that he was supposed to be "off limits". They are actually at this time sneaking around with one another...they share a house for goodness's sake! After a kiss that was also supposed to forbidden, neither of them could forget, or go back to keeping the ridicules promise to leave one another alone. These grown men are hiding in the house they share, sneaking around and waiting for their "happy ever after" to sneak up and bite them...or for their "friends??" and family to catch on to them. I wondered if they were going to send them to their rooms if they happened to catch on. It also amazed me that all these friends and family all had keys to the house and let themselves in whenever the spirit moved them! Christian had, years ago, moved away from their town of Shaftdale, but had used the time to learn how to be the best "daddy" for the "boy" he had left behind.
I actually liked Aaron. He's sweet and also a bit stubborn which made some of his defiance towards the friends and family funny instead of being quiet so nerve-wracking. The Daddy/little part didn't exactly read or fit too well with these two. Christian was okay but Aaron wasn't very believable in his part. Maybe it was because Christian being new to the "Daddy" role he done some research while he was away in anticipation of asking Aaron to date. He takes care of Aaron, but he's not heavy handed which was good. I like the "Daddy" kink stories, but sometimes the dominant part of a person is a little more overbearing than expected or necessary. Aaron still has a lot of independence while having his needs met.... which included a lot of interaction with a cactus. It was entertaining and I didn't dislike it, but I liked the first two books more.
The Cinnamon Roll Crush is the third book in the Shaftdale series by Joe Satoria. This book is about Aaron and Christian. Their story was sweet, sexy, full of feels and very well written. I loved it.
This book was sweet and low-angst once you got past the brother's best friend drama (in which the brother is super-opinionated - which I wasn't entirely fond of) with a small age gap, some botanical age play and some spicy roommate shenanigans...
I am glad I didn't let the drama at the beginning of the book stop me from continuing, because I found a lovely daddy/boy romance and some fun reading!
A Plant Loving Little & A Relaxed Daddy; I Loved It
No angst Best friends brother Similarly aged MCs Daddy/little (-lite) Plants! Dual first person POV
If there's one thing I love in my books it's cinnamon rolls! Ice never read a book by this author but when I saw the title I had to check it out. It is ADORABLE and I enjoyed it so much! Also, I absolutely love plants so reading a book about someone who loves plants and does all the ridiculous stuff that's "normal" in my house was so fun!
I'll be honest - brother's best friend/ best friend's brother is probably my least favorite trope (along with best friend's dad) so I was pretty nervous about this. But all the things I hate- the guilt, the paranoia, the web of lies and schemes, and especially pining - were MISSING. It was awesome. Don't get me wrong, there's some sneaking around and lies told but Aaron wasn't filled with guilt and the brother/best friend Aden was honestly way too in their business. Each lie would never have happened if he hadn't been so hands on with a relationship that wasn't even his. He was ridiculous but it didn't add any drama, surprisingly.
I really liked being in Aaron's head, too. He's really sweet but also the teensiest bit stubborn which made some of his defiance towards Aden funny instead of nerve-wracking.
The Daddy/little bit was very light. I'd say Aaron is "young child" when he is in little space so no diapers, bottles, pacifiers, etc. There were some playdates and fun foods, baths, stuffies, and dress up which were all adorable. Christian is new to being a Daddy but it's a role he researched in anticipation of asking Aaron to date. He takes care of Aaron like a good Daddy Dom should but he is not heavy handed which I appreciated. I love Daddy Dom's but sometimes the dominant part of a person is a little more relaxed than expected. It was really nice to see. Aaron still has a lot of independence while having his needs met.
Overall, really cute and the writing isn't as juvenile as some other books in the subgenre. Definitely recommend!
Aaron has been crushing on his best friend’s brother for years, he was supposed to be off limits. But a forbidden kiss neither of them could forget, set the ball rolling for their happy ever after.
Christian moved away from Shaftdale but used the time to learn how to be the best daddy for the boy he left behind.
A secret relationship too hot to be kept under wraps for long and a daddy learning how to be the very best for his sweet boy leads to a low angst , high heat story and the happiest of ever afters.
It was great to be back in Shaftdale and seeing more from the boys and hearing what their daddies have been doing for them. I can’t wait to see Jackson get his HEA
I love when we have a series that keeps dragging you back for more. This is definitely something Joe does on a regular basis. I love that all of the boys in this series have a little bit of a different obsession and they can find common ground to play together. Plus the steam factor is always changing. I am ready for more.
It's always a pleasure reading a sweet and low angst story. And Joe is amazing in creating that kind of world. You can read it when you need a cuddle-book. Definitely recommended! I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
I have loved each of these books as they came out and this one was no exception. The group of boys are such a lot of fun as they all (except one) find their daddies. This one ends with a super hea where Aaron gets everything he's dreamed of.
I find myself passing this and DNF'd. I don't feel the chemistry and I'm more annoyed at the brother being all up their asses about not being allowed to be together. Thought it was just gonna be a quick thing but he kept mentioning and reminding them that it took away the fun for me personally.
I loved this book. Aaron's forbidden crush is back. Christian is Arron's best friend's brother. Which means he off limits. Christian lefts seven years ago but now he's back and ready to find someone special meaning Arron. Will they let the obstacles get in the way of true love?
