“Your wrath will consume you, Michael Lieberman, and when it does, there will be nothing left but my power. All that you have, were, or could be, shall join the army that is my might. You are mine, boy. You have already lost this fight.”
This sequel lives up to and exceeds every expectation I had for it, and I only wish I could hand this book to every single reader who loves paranormal thrillers. The author perfectly blends elements from mystery, urban fantasy, and thriller into this fascinating story, creating a dark and gritty tale that will keep readers on the edge of their seats.
The story centers around Michael, a former special agent with a secret, finds himself on a search for answers, navigating a world where supernatural exist while new threats and enemies appear.
The great character development in "The Book of Sathanas" is one of its biggest strengths. We get to know Michael, a complex character, blending his angelic origins, the determination to uncover the truth behind his sister's actions and the hidden forces, all while dealing with the different internal conflicts that will arise in this sequel. The supernatural elements are well-balanced by solid grounding in Michael's day to day life.
The story blends together different plotlines and perspectives, Michael's constant pursuit of the truth, Sara's transformation and new abilities and the unfolding conflicts in his world. The dynamic between them was something that I really liked, and how in the end they were able to have better communication. Also, we are really able to connect with Sara on another level in this book, especially everything that she goes through.
This exactly what I have been looking for, it has an original plot, interesting characters. As the narrative unfolds, we are introduced to a fast-paced urban fantasy world teeming with action, demons, and intrigue. The action scenes are very well described, with a mix of adrenaline and palpable tension. Whether it's Michael battling supernatural threats or navigating the treacherous dynamics of rival gangs, the author's skill shines through. His descriptions paint a portrayal of New York City's streets and atmosphere, effortlessly blending the supernatural elements with the gritty urban environment.
Overall, I highly recommend this book, it had all the right elements. Is a remarkable addition to the urban fantasy genre. An outstanding sequel. After that epilogue, I will be looking forward to the release of the next part in the series.
