Ironically the 'book' I read immediately before this was Enoch the Prophet, which I'd never read before, but decided this year I will be exploring all facets of religion and spirituality (specifically gnostic literature, old world paganism/symbolism and Islam). By completely unrelated means, commenting on a video about AI in which religion was never mentioned on the thread, a random stranger commented "you should read this book... I think you'd like it." He was correct. I have been fascinated with cults and commune living since I was a young child. They psychology of where they go wrong and transition from the latter to the former is what is so interesting to me. While this is supposedly a functional story, it very much reads as a recruitment. In all transparency, putting aside my skeptical and logical frame of mind, I find myself thinking "...well, he clearly states at the end of this book that this is in no way a cult... will never have a leader, is a collective effort of equality and respect..." did I just join a cult? Hahaha.
I have this rule in life that if something is mentioned to me three times in a row, I owe it to myself to find out why the universe is directing me to that energy. Having said that, this book came recommended through three different sources in one week. I didnt have any expectations going into it, and therefore read it with my mind open to the possibilities.
I was impressed not only with the creative story telling, although I have to say was corny at times, but also by the information presented throughout the chapters. If the author wasn’t spoken to through divine intervention, then he definitely put in a lot of work gathering the knowledge to tell this story and pass this information on to those of us seeking for it. It was a whole new, but ancient reimagining of how the world could be ran with the possibility of the next generation living in harmony with nature. I’m not sure if the ideas expressed here on these pages are even possible on a large scale anymore because of the way the world has evolved, but that isn’t to say that we won’t someday find ourselves looking to these pages as the blueprints of how to restart a new way of life after a world war or unforeseen disaster.
One thing for sure is that this being my first book of 2024 has definitely set my expectations pretty high for this year. I went and purchased books on herbal remedies and back yard farming as well as living off the grid as a result of this read.
Very cumbersome edgy teenager philosophy crammed into a bad story with extremely compelling characters and plot.
The theoretical foundation of the philosophy has some merits, even if faulty and incoherent (IMO) at times. But the biggest problem of the book is that the author tries to convey the message by putting it into a story. The story is boring, characters uncompelling, dialogues are essentially "god" talking and characters saying stuff like "I could feel how god's points all are compelling.". It feels fake, lazy and about as deep as a puddle.
The premise could be interesting and theoretically there is an interesting philosophical direction underneath it. But this book fails at laying it out and creating a compelling narrative.
Absolutely AMAZING! I've heard about this book for a long while know and I've finally finished it! MIND BLOWN! it did not disappoint! So marvelous!! The audio version is amazing also as he adds his own musical inputs and his own songs in too. His voice is so amazing.
Really opens your mind to another dimension and let's you think about life and how it really should be like! Amazing read! Definitely recommend to the World! 💚💚
While it is always interesting to learn how individuals connect with deity and how it impacts their lives, this book was so poorly written it was painful to read.
