If Only She Knew #4

What She Doesn't Know

Rate this book
When her estranged husband shows up on her doorstep, Ginger Mallowan thinks she’s finally getting her happily ever after…until he disappears again.

Rick Mallowan had never been the type of father to play catch with his sons. Or the kind of husband to stick around. But when he shows up begging for another chance to win Ginger’s heart, she can’t deny her first love.

As he proves he’s a changed man, for Ginger it’s a dream come true. Until it twists into a nightmare when he vanishes once again. Unlike his previous disappearing acts, this time he leaves behind a trail of terrifying clues:

The cryptic note doesn’t sound like him, but she recognizes his handwriting.
The blood found is his, but a body hasn’t turned up.
The bullet aimed at her missed, but it came with a deadly message.

Despite the missing years and unanswered questions, nothing can scare Ginger, Tara, and Sloane away from digging into the past to save Rick…along with Ginger’s heart from breaking all over again. As their search drags them back to 1976, will flower power be enough to uncover The Who behind the threats?

While the truth might be dangerous, what she doesn’t know might kill her.

To know PAMELA CRANE, you first need to know her husband. He sleeps with one eye open. He checks the knife block to make sure none are missing. Why? It could be because they have four kids and a farm full of mischievous animals. Or it could be because she writes murder mysteries, and about the occasional woman who has lost her marbles (not based on her real-life psyche, she swears!) Don't worry—her husband is safe...for now. Her books range from witty whodunnits to psychological suspense and even humorous women’s fiction thrown in for good measure. She’s a USA TODAY bestselling author of over a dozen novels (who’s counting?), but her biggest accomplishment is keeping her zoo of animals alive…and her husband in check. My favorite savvy sleuths are baaaack, and this time I've handed the mic to Sloane Apara to tell you a little more about herself in this book. I'll admit I was nervous when I first created her, inspired by a Deaf Nigerian-American friend of mine who begged me to write her into a story. Writing a main character like Sloane was admittedly intimidating. Could I write Sloane authentically if I didn't fully understand her experience? But I was encouraged to try, and so I did. And I'm glad for the learning experience of it. I hope you enjoy getting a deeper look at one of my all-time favorite characters, because she's more than just an Instagram-famous face. She's got a background you won't believe until you read it. And she's got a secret up her sleeve that could destroy her...

I hope you enjoy this next book in the series as Ginger's antics get even crazier than usual, and Tara's pregnancy could become a wedge between the gals. When Ginger puts her heart before her head, it could end up costing her life... along with the lives of her friends.

It's so nice to catch up with the ladies of Bloodson Bay again! My favorite team of lady sleuths! Hearing about Ginger & Rick's beginnings was fun and it sounds like she had a fabulous life - catching the Who in concert, and brushing elbows with Diana Ross at Studio 54! Rick, on the other hand, left me feeling like she could have done so much better and it pained me to hear her struggle so much with trying to emotionally disconnect from a man who seems like nothing but trouble from the start. But when Rick comes back into her life this time around, he seems to be a bit of a changed man but then suddenly disappears again and may be in serious danger, dragging Ginger and her friends into it with him. Ginger, along with Tara and Sloan, find themselves digging into Ginger and Rick's past for clues, finding nothing but surprises, lies, and secrets. As usual with Pamela's books, I was drawn immediately into the story and these characters that I now love and know so well! I love getting bits and pieces of everyone's history with each new mystery in Bloodson Bay and I will absolutely be back for the next one!

Rick is missing for three days, and Ginger starts to receive some cryptic messages that are sent from some old-dated 1970’s yellowed newspaper ad clippings with some telltale underlined letters.

When the trouble-trio Ginger, Tara and Sloane launch their own investigation, the ugly ghosts and the dark secrets from the past keep coming back to haunt them, especially Ginger, and put them in dire jeopardy!!

I enjoyed reading Pamela Crane’s latest WHAT SHE DOESN’T KNOW (If Only She Knew Mystery Series) which is a well-paced, entertaining (love the humors), thrilling with unexpected twists and turns that keep me guessing till the end!

I am fond of these trio female characters who have their own flaws and secrets, especially Sloane who is deaf and communicates with ASL, and yet they are strong together!

Omg this book 3 was amazing. More murder, craziness and suspense. Ginger’s long lost husband shows up after being away for years and the baggage he brings along is a very heavy burden. The twists and turns are more bizarre than ever. This series is so much fun to read and Ginger is my favorite character. She’s sassy and hysterically funny. I highly recommend reading the whole series. It will keep engaged and it’s very entertaining.

Tara’s Angels!!!

Just when I thought that this series would fizz out… it only got better! Ginger, Tara, and Sloane (Tara’s Angels) are at it again. There are always secrets from everyone’s past and this time it’s Sloane and Ginger’s (mostly Ginger) time to confront them.

Ginger’s husband, Rick had done very shady dealings back in the day and now they are coming to haunt Ginger. While Sloane has her own secrets somehow they tie into Rick and Ginger!

Keeps getting better!!

I have read all the books in this series so far. And LOVED every One of them! The suspense, the twists, and the characters keep you guessing about what will happen next. The only issue I have with this series, is that I'm caught up and so I have to wait for the next book! Argh...😉

Ginger's estranged husband is back, after all these long years. He says he is a changed man, but it sure doesn't look that way when he disappears again. But Ginger keeps getting these strange messages with hidden clues that she needs to figure out to find him. Humor and wit is weaved into this story.

This book brought even more emotion and depth to the story. 💔 Secrets were uncovered, and things that had been building since the beginning really started to unravel. Pamela Crane did a great job pulling everything together while still keeping the suspense alive. I can’t wait to see what happens next in Tell Me What She Knows! 📖✨

Very thin plot

I kept waiting for the book to engage me but it never did. There was a disappointing lack of art in the writing.
