We all love ourselves and wish to be happy.
To love something is to derive pleasure from it.
Therefore, to love is to be happy.
Love and happiness are therefore the same thing. You cannot love when you are not happy, and you cannot be happy without love. To love is to be happy. Love is bliss.
In seeking love and happiness outside ourselves, we neglect the source of fulfillment, which is our very own Self, and therefore prevent the experience of the very thing we most desire.
Like the sun searching for the source of light, or the eyes seeking the source of sight, the quest for love and bliss is bound to disappoint unless you turn within and discover that, like sunlight and eyesight, you are the Source.
The most momentous discovery in the universe is that the source of love and bliss is you.
The realization that love and bliss are the same thing whose source is the one Self puts an end to the futile pursuit of fulfillment. There is no need to seek love when you are love, no need to find happiness when you are joy itself. Your nature is love and bliss. Love is simply the name given to bliss shared with the beloved.
The purpose of life is to realize this truth for yourself; it is simply to drop the notion of some seeker of truth. It is to give up the belief in a separate self.
When bliss is discovered to be your true Self, self-interest enlarges to embrace the Self of the universe as love.The new religion is love.
