Hannah’s finally going back home to her family’s farm in South Dakota. What is supposed to be a joyous reunion goes sour when one of Hannah’s old rivals ends up dead.
Will Hannah’s family accept her beloved cats and Ben? Will Hannah end up spending most of her vacation in lock-up?
It’s going to be up to Razzy Cat and the boys to get to the bottom of this convoluted mystery and save Hannah before it’s too late. The killer’s still out there, and they know Hannah a little too well.
This was definitely one of the sweeter adventures in the series!
Hannah's going back to her hometown to visit her parents, and of course, Ben, Razzy, Gus, and Rudy have to come along with her!
However, it seems like Hannah may need to stay longer than expected when her old nemesis gets murdered, and Hannah is considered to be one of the suspects! *gasps*
Looks like another sleuthing job, with cat-antics along the way! I gotta say, this book just gave me all of the warm fuzzies imagining Hannah with her parents, and the cats charming everyone again, same as always!
Hannah takes Ben and the cats, Razzy, Gis and Rudy home to meet her parents at their farm in Edgewood. Of course, where Hannah goes, so does murder, so when someone who Hannah was bullied by as a child is found dead, Hannah become first in line for the local Sheriff to question.
The main reason for the trip home is so Ben can meet Hannah's Mum and Dad, her Mum will be fine but shes not so sure about her Dad, will he like Ben. Then there are the cats, her parents don't know of her ability to understand and converse with the cats; then there's her Dads view is that cats live in the barn, not the house.
I really like these books, they're light hearted pieces of escapism, quick witted in places and touching in others. I cant wait for the next book to be released.
Each book is a standalone mystery, however to gain the most enjoyment from this set , the books are best read in order of publication to preserve continuity of the characters and series.
I'm really excited to read theres a new series starting soon, a spin off from this series about the Clowder of cats introduced in the book previous to this one, Murder on the Mountain. The Clowder of cats from that book helped to solve a murder, and now they get their own series.
It pains me to give this one 2 stars, but I was so disappointed. It was too obvious. I figured out who done it just by reading the book description. By once again sending them all out of town, Anastasia was also missing, and she's one of my favorite characters. Other than having the cats talk, there was no development of Hannah's growing mystic powers and no real sense of danger. This was just a murder mystery with all the standard tropes of the main character being a murder suspect with no reasonable cause; a sheriff who doesn't believe she is guilty but considers her a person of interest anyway; the unenforceable order not to leave town which would require a court order, not just the sheriff's say so. I liked meeting Hannah's parents, but the rest of it was like the first effort of a newbie or a fan fiction imitation of the real Razzy Cat. Did Courtney McFarlin even write this one?
Hannah takes Ben to meet her parents on the farm. Hannah meets the girl who once terrorized her throughout her school years. When Jenny, the bully, is murdered, Daisy, her best friend screams to everyone that Hannah was the one who killed her.
Hannah's parents tell her that they are getting too old to manage the farm and if she likes the idea, they would sell and move closer to her and the cats. Hannah has confided in her mother that she and Ben can talk to the cats.
On their way home, Hannah gets a call from Ashley saying that her water has broke.
Hannah goes home to South Dakota and is accused of murder, but with Ben, Razzy, Gus and Rudy investigating, they'll have it solved in no time. If you are a cat lover, and you're looking for a sweet, loving, imaginative series, this is the one you're looking for. I've read the entire series and every time I finish a book, I feel good. And maybe a little sad because now I have to wait for the next one.
Getting ready to start A Clowder Cats Cozy Mystery, No 1, Resorting to Murder, but MS McFarland recommended reading Razzy Cat Cozies 11 and 12 first. Glad I did. Will be back to read the first 10, but Resorting called my name. Did finish this one first. Ben and Hannah and the cats are involved in all kinds of murders which need to be solved. This one does not disappoint. Thoroughly enjoyed it and relish the thought of more to come.
This is an awesome series! I just love Razzy, Gus and Rudy! It would be wonderful if I could talk to my Sydney and understand what she says! I'm not sure if the next book is the last of the series, but I sure hope not!!!!! I'd just hate not to be able to read more about Razzy, Gus, and Rudy's adventures solving murder mysteries. Please don't end this series!!!!!
Fun series that's a quick read. This one felt a little rushed on the mystery side. But, it was lots of fun to meet the parents and see a bit about how Hannah grew up. It was also great to see how Ben interacted with her parents too. It's going to be interesting to have them come closer to them. The mystery wasn't as difficult to figure out as usual and was pretty straight forward - sort of second place to the homecoming portion of the story.
What is better than taking your boyfriend to meet the parents? Is it taking your clouder of cats. Oh, by the way did you earn your parents that you can understand what they say? Oh, remember that your dad thinks a cat’s place is in the barn? What a great read is what happens. Well, for you humans who can not understand what stories your cats could tell you this is a good substitute for that conversation.
Being a cat lover, how could you not totally enjoy the three cats, Hanna and Ben’s adventures. Each one is just different enough to get totally involved. It’s very nice to have a good, clean story without all the vulgarity and sex in so many of today’s books. Just the right length, too.
The three cats are such great characters that you almost forget that they’re cats. And Ben and Hannah are refreshingly loving and sweet. Three cheers for Razzy, Rudy and Gus. I’m hooked on this entire series. Cudows to Courtney McFarlin, one of my newest favorite authors. You did good,, lady as Gus would say.
There’s snow, farm chores, old childhood scores settled, and the cats come to the rescue. None of Courtney McFarlin’s stories are long or complicated, but they are charming and very cozy mysteries indeed.
I just can't get over how often I get teary eyed reading these stories. To be able to write the stories with twist and turns to the main plot but still and yet convey the emotional aspects at the same time is just fabulous!
You would think Hannah would not have waited almost 10 years to visit her hometown and her parents. The murder was a bit predictable but the characters were spot on.
I love these stories. Can't get enough of the three amigos Razzy, Gus and Rudy. Ben is no slouch either. Great story line.makes you want it to go on and on.
Love all the Razzie cat series. This was the last one. I already miss the characters. That being said, I'm now embarking on the clowder cat series. I'm guessing I'll love that series just as much.
It was so sweet to be back with these characters that I just adore!! I do feel like the books in this series could use a little bit of editing for typos and for overall craft, but the characters and plot make it worth ignoring the typos!
