The catalogue for an exhibition of work by Robert Cumming, held at the Corcoran Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C., February 14 - May 9, 1976. In celebration of the nation's bicentennial, the Corcoran commissioned eight American photographers to document Washington, D.C. The work was presented in a series of solo exhibitions, each with a catalogue. The artists were Cumming, Roy DeCarava, Lee Friedlander, Jan Groover, Lewis Baltz, John Gossage, Joe Cameron, and Anthony Hernandez. Photographs and essay in the form of a letter by Robert Cumming; foreword by Roy Slade; introduction by Jane Livingston. From an edition limited to 3000 copies. Staple-bound self-wrappers; 24 pages; 22 b&w illustrations representing 12 works + a self-portrait by the artist; 8 x 8 inches.
