She must leave her past behind in order to become who she’s meant to be.
Being treated like a servant instead of a family member pushes Ivy Fowler to answer an advertisement for a mail-order bride. Her brother and sister-in-law promise to take her from Montana to Colorado in the back of a covered wagon as long as Ivy agrees to cook all of their meals, do their laundry, and take care of her three-year-old niece.
Ivy agrees. She cannot stay in Montana any longer. Her brother and sister never gave her love, but now she’s in danger of losing much more. While her groom-to-be doesn’t promise love, he at least promises kindness and respect. Both of which she longs for.
After Lee Griswold’s wife dies in the avalanche of Woodstock, Colorado, he takes his son and moves to the town of Pinewood to become sheriff. When a mail-order bride shows up unannounced to marry Lee, the ladies of the town come clean about the advertisement they placed on his behalf. He decides to forge ahead with the marriage, if for no other reason than to have a mother for his son.
Trouble and danger follow Ivy at every turn. In a race against time, Lee must discover the culprit before it’s too late.

I loved this story. I didn’t know much about this author and now she is on my favorites list. Great believable characters. Great plot. Perfect story for those who love mail order stories. I received a copy of this book and these are my opinions.
Wanting to escape a difficult life, Ivy answered an ad for a mail order bride, not knowing the intended groom’s dearest friends had placed it unbeknownst to him. Sheriff Lee had sworn to never love again after losing his wife in an avalanche, leaving him to raise their son alone. But did God have other plans and would he allow the walls around his heart to crumble? Despite tragedy and suffering , the message of the nearness of God flowed throughout this book, bringing hope and joy and bringing a smile to my face! The author writes from inspiration deep within, causing life to spring forth into the very soul of the reader.
This story opens with much sorrow for Lee who loses his wife and is left with an infant. They move on to another town and learn to live again. But some sweet ladies in the town decide Lee needs a wife and Mattie needs a mother, so they write letters to a mail order bride. Lee is surprised and angry but soon learns Ivy needs him as much as they need her.
Lee learns to love Ivy after he almost loses her also. Their faith in God grows as their love for each other grows. The epilogue is a sweet ending.
This story is sweet, clean, and wholesome. I enjoyed it very much.
I received an advanced reader copy for my voluntary opinion.
This is a sweet and endearing story that is faith-based. Ivy is tired of being treated as a servant by her family so she responds to a letter for a mail order bride. Her brother and his family promised to deliver her if she promised to cook their meals, do their laundry and take care of her neice until they arrive. Lee lost his wife in a freak avalanche. He takes his son and moves to Pinewood where he takes a job as sheriff in the town. He is surprised when a mail order bride shows up to marry him. Apparently there are a few older ladies in town that love to play matchmaker.
I was blessed to receive this book for free in exchange for an honest review. When Lee's first wife died, he didn't think he could ever love again. Ivy spent so much of her life taking care of all those around her and not having anyone to care for her. Sometimes God can use three very caring elderly ladies to make a situation better. Even at a fearful time in Ivy's life, she was being kind to people who were hurting her. It is only because of God that both of them were able to move past their fears and to find the love that God had in store for them. Very well done!
Ivy and Lee had gone through so much in life before they met. Three sweet woman who young Mattie called grandma's (Nana, ma-maw, and grammy) decided Lee needed a wife and Mattie a mother and a mail order ad for Lee without Lee knowing. Ivy and Lee did end up marrying but as friends and that's all Lee could promise. The story shows how Lee came to care for Ivy. You have to read the story to see what happens to make Lee finally decide to let his walls down and love Ivy.
Some people get the bottom of the barrel when it comes to family and Ivy is definitely one of those people. Joi Copeland brings us a good addition to this series with this book. We get a mail order bride (sort of), a precocious little boy, danger, humor and some twists and surprises. I enjoyed this book.
This was a very good book to read. Joi Copeland has captured the characters in a very good light. From Ivy’s brother and his wife as mean and uncaring to the three lady’s who ordered the bride for Lee. Lee needed help, Ivy needed help so why not put them together. Very enjoyed£.
I enjoyed the book! Ivy had never had love from her siblings but she found it when she met Lee. The three grandmas for Mattie mad the story more interesting. There is excitement near the end. I recommend reading this book!
