Terence Dooley (Cornualles, 1950) es poeta y traductor de poesía española. Es autor de The Why of It (Argent Press, 2016). Entre sus traducciones, que publica en la editorial Shearsman, se encuentran las de Eduardo Moga, Selected Poems (2017) y My Fathe r (2021); Mariano Peyrou, The Year of the Crab (2019) y Possibilities in Shade (2023); Mario Martín Gijón, (Sur)rendering (2020); Mercedes Cebrián, Affordable Angst (2022); Daniel Samoilovich, The Enchanted Isles (2022); Jordi Doce, Master of Distances (2023); y las antologías Streets Where to Walk Is to Embark. Spanish Poets in London (1811-2018) (2019) y Ten Contemporary Spanish Women Poets (2020). Además, ha editado los ensayos y las cartas de Penelope Fitzgerald, de quien es albacea A House of Air (2003) y So I Have Thought of You (2008), respectivamente, y ha escrito epílogos para las traducciones al español de sus novelas, como Inocencia (2013), La flor azul (2014) o La librería (2018). Vive en Cornualles con su familia.

Tocoloro recoge la poesía de Dooley en edición bilingüe inglés-español; la traducción y el prólogo corren a cargo del poeta Eduardo Moga. Los escritores Mercedes Cebrián, Jordi Doce y Daniel Samoilovich aportan breves notas epilogales, y la primera es, además, autora de la ilustración de cubierta.

Terence Dooley (Cornwall, 1950) is a poet and translator of Spanish poetry. He is the author of The Why of It (Argent Press, 2016). Among his translations, which are published by Shearsman Books, are those of Eduardo Moga, Selected Poems (2017) and My Fathe r (2021); Mariano Peyrou, The Year of the Crab (2019) and Possibilities in Shade (2023); Mario Martín Gijón, (Sur)rendering (2020); Mercedes Cebrián, Affordable Angst (2022); Daniel Samoilovich, The Enchanted Isles (2022); Jordi Doce, Master of Distances (2023); and the anthologies Streets Where to Walk Is to Embark. Spanish Poets in London (1811-2018) (2019) and Ten Contemporary Spanish Women Poets (2020). In addition, Dooley has edited Penelope Fitzgerald’s essays and letters ‒he is her literary executor‒, A House of Air (2003) and So I Have Thought of You (2008), respectively, and has written the epilogues for the Spanish translations of her novels, such as Inocencia (2013), La flor azul (2014) or La librería (2018). He lives in Cornwall with his family.

Tocoloro collects Dooley’s poetry in a bilingual English-Spanish edition, whose translator and introductor is the poet Eduardo Moga. Writers Mercedes Cebrián, Jordi Doce and Daniel Samoilovich each contribute with a short afterword, and the former is also the author of the cover illustration.
