A stubborn and possessive gargoyle alpha. A sweet and sheltered fox omega. Can they find harmony and happiness together?
Ramsey Mason felt like he’d never really lived until he was sent to join the council enforcers. He sometimes struggles with authority, but he wouldn’t trade his new life with the council for anything. His most recent assignment hits him especially hard, and he begins to question their mission. Can he continue on while dealing with the degenerates of the paranormal world? Does he want to?
Phineas Nelson has spent his entire life in hiding, running from a deranged man obsessed with him and his twin. When his older brother is offered the job of running the general store for the paranormal council, they see it as a chance to finally start living a somewhat normal life. But Roman’s protective instincts are difficult to curb after so many years of hiding his younger twin brothers.
An urgent call from Ramsey’s brother leads to a chance encounter that surely the fates had something to do with. But Ramsey is determined to not claim his sweet omega mate for fear of losing him as Raiden almost did. Can a gargoyle’s beast stay away from the gift that the fates had deemed perfect for him? Will the sweet fox shifter be able to change Ramsey’s mind and win him over?
Ramsey is Book Nine in the Paranormal Council Enforcers series. Each book in this series will focus on a different couple, but these books are not standalones and should be read in order as there is an ongoing backstory that won’t be resolved quickly. This is a fated mate story in an MPreg world, and there will be babies in this story. You should expect all the normal shenanigans, heats, biting, knotting, and remember that sometimes even fated mates need a little help.
It was good. Have to say, seeing Ramsey and Phineas get together was really sweet. I enjoyed it a lot. Now, I'd like to see Roman and Philip get their own mates at some point.
Another good read by Taylor Rylan. Ramsey is a gargoyle shifter, and is an Enforcer with the Paranormal Council. He has an identical twin Raiden, brother-in-law Alexander and a wee nephew Rowan. Ramsey and Raiden’s birth clan are a*seholes. Phineas is a fox shifter, who along with his twin brother Philip were raised by their older brother Roman. Their mother was m*rdered while pregnant with the twins. Her m*rderer wanted her as a mate even though she was already mated and didn’t take kindly for being told no. Her mate and their father was away working and held on long enough to contact Roman, and for Roman to take the twins and keep them safe. He couldn’t live without his true mate so they were both essentially m*rdered. The man who k*lled their parents wanted the twins so Roman, protected them for years.
They never stayed in one place long, well that is until they ended up on Treasure Ridge running the General Store. Roman, is still extremely protective of the twins but he’s had a reason for being over protective. It was great being able to see another side to Roman, and that he’s got in altercations with the Enforcers who come sniffing around. It isn’t that he doesn’t want the twins to find their mates he just doesn’t want the Enforcers to just want the twins for one night. Ramsey freaks out when he finally finds his mate since Phineas is a tiny fox shifter and he’s got some trauma after his brother-in-law Alexander ended up nearly dying when Rowan was born. He also got an infection so can no longer have children. Gargoyle pregnancies are hard as f*ck on the body. It isn’t that he doesn’t want Phineas it’s just that he’s terrified that he’ll lose him.
It doesn’t take him too long to get his a*se into great, well with some stern talking to by the created Gargoyle shifter Alpha Daegal and the created Warlock Master Edison. He also got magical balls thrown at his head by Master Edison lol. I do wish that this book had a bit more action and adventure but still a good read. I really want to know what the mysterious presence is on the mountain that seems to be protective of pregnant omegas. I’m glad that Taylor said that this series is going to be quite long, as I’d happily read as many books that Taylor chooses to write, especially from this universe. I’ve already pre-ordered Castiel’s book which I’m looking forward to reading when it’s released. I’m looking forward to Phineas’s twin Philip and their older brother Roman finding their mates. The traff*cked omegas, especially Abel after he fixated on Ramsey since he rescued him and he’s the first person to ever show him kindness, and the Council Enforcers totally deserve to find their own happily ever afters as well. I’d definitely recommend this book, series, universe and author to everyone.
Loved this one too. Ramsey is as possessive and sweet with this mate as his brother was. Loved to see more of him. Phineas was so innocent, he was such a cutie pie, loved him. I loved them together
So - sweet - overprotective alpha who is a bit of a dumbass- cute, tiny omega - short pregnancy. No real angst or even plot development. Actually about a 3.5/5 . Reread - same
Ramsey by Taylor Rylan is the 9th book in her Paranormal Council Enforcers series. You should read the other books first to understand the workings of her paranormal world as well as the characters that have previously been introduced and the plot line of what is happening. Ramsey is a gargoyle enforcer who has watched his twin brother find his mate. He is hopeful that he will find his also, but is worried because his brother-in-law had a horrible time birthing their gargoyle son and almost died and he doesn’t want that for his mate. That is why he is hesitant when he actually does meet him, and this leads to needing to have magic thrown at his head to understand that they are fated and are meant to be together. The story continues as he comes to his senses and does indeed mate with Phineas who is a little fox shifter. And, as in true Taylor Rylan fashion, he becomes pregnant right away, although without the serious consequences Ramsey’s brother’s mate had. Phineas helps his twin brother and older brother run the council store. They have had to constantly move around because of what happened to their mother and other bad alphas that are after them. Luckily, they are safe on the mountain with the created ones and the enforcers. As time goes on they get to know one another and fall quickly in love and when their baby arrives they are very happy. I am in love with this series and have enjoyed all the books in it and this one is no exception. Ramsey was kind of out there when he was first introduced but in this story he is protective and caring. Phineas is cute and eager to please, even though he doesn’t know a lot about how things work since his family was isolated and often on the run. Their families also play a big part in this story as they get used to them being mated and also give good advice. And that pesky being who protects omegas from danger also makes an appearance and we are all still wondering exactly what it is. The paranormal world that Ms. Rylan has created is very unique and I learn more about it in each book as she goes forward with the enforcers finding their fated mates and also dealing with bad leaders who are hurting others around them I highly recommend this book and am looking forward to reading the next one in the series.
While reading ‘Parker’ I was hoping to learn more about the brothers who ran the council store and ‘Ramsey’ gives us the first story (and hopefully not the last) about these 3 brothers! Phineas, an adorable fox shifter, has grown up massively sheltered by his older brother due to tragic circumstances and feels a bit out of his depth after meeting his older and more worldly mate Ramsey. I look forward to learning even more about him and his family as I hope his twin and older brother also find love on Treasure Ridge.
Ramsey is scared to mate his little fox shifter after seeing what his brother and his mate went through and it takes some convincing for him to approach Phineas. After a rocky start, Ramsey and Phineas learn to communicate and build their relationship despite still having concerns and reservations. Thank goodness for close knit friends and family who help guide them both and teach them all about learning to depend on each other.
This book was great as it allowed us to see such a different side to Ramsey. Up until now we have seen the sort of goofy twin brother to Raiden who seemed to constantly be getting in trouble. We now see a deeply feeling side who is scared of mating Phineas out of pure concern for him. We see him love deeply and worry about being a capable father. It was really nice to see.
I am really enjoying reading about our beloved enforcers finding love but I do wish there was more emphasis on the missions they go on and some of the action as the Council has been created for a very specific and important reason and we have slowly moved away from more time spent there.
I eagerly await ‘Castiel’!
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
This was very cute. The twins who run the store with their brother have intrigued me since we first met them so I was really happy to get to know more about them and why Roman acted the way he did. I’m not saying that Roman’s behaviour is totally okay but it does make a lot more sense why he’s so defensive of his brothers. He’s a sweet guy I think at his core and I’m looking forward to his book. Phineas and Ramsey were an interesting pair. I will admit that their lack of communication was a bit annoying sometimes; however, I guess that’s the problem in reality, some people just jump to conclusions instead of actually talking and it can cause all kinds of issues. I was glad that mostly resolved by the time Phineas was pregnant. Their relationship beyond that is sweet and I was glad that Phineas actually understood Ramsey’s fears enough to help him and support him. I do think though that some of these alphas need to realise that omegas are plenty strong and aren’t as fragile and incapable as some alphas act like they are. Phineas was tough and I hope as time goes on Ramsey can see that more and appreciate it instead of assuming Phineas will break at the slightest thing. That comes with time though especially given Ramsey’s trauma. I’ll admit, this wasn’t my favourite in the series which is sad as I had been super excited for Ramsey’s book, but I still enjoyed it and now I’m really hoping that Roman gets his wonderful HEA!
This is another enjoyable and engaging instalment in the Paranormal Council Enforcers series in which gargoyle Ramsey unexpectedly stumbles across his fated mate Phineas, a fox shifter. Their first meeting doesn’t go well as Ramsey walks away without explanation leaving Phineas to wonder why his mate left him. Ramsey has his reasons but does see the error of his ways after intervention by members of the Council. Phineas and Ramsey do struggle with some communication issues as both learn how to be in a relationship for the first time. That doesn’t stop the instant connection between them, as experienced by fated mates, so steamy times happen quickly alongside plenty of cuddle moments. As their relationship strengthens so does the love they have for each other and their unborn child.
I found this to be a very enjoyable and easy read with a dash of angst balanced by a lovely fated mates romance between two very interesting and likeable main characters. I would strongly advise reading this series in order to enhance the reading experience.
Although we didn't really know anything about the twins and their brother prior to this book, I still felt like I knew more about both of these MCs going into this book. We knew Ramsey has been a bit of a loose cannon, at least at work, so it was nice to see him soften for someone, after he got his head out of his ass of course. The whole beginning miscommunication was so cliche and annoying, but after that it was fine. I still think they could have shown the building of the communication between them a bit better, but overall I think the progression of the relationship was pretty standard for this series. Did we really need the random bear attack though? I'm just glad they chose to re-home the bear instead of killing it, like they did with the mountain lion a few books back. There was no reason for either of these animal attacks, unless it was someone planting these poor animals specifically to cause mayhem, which I think they've ruled out. I really want to know who Roman ends up with, honestly.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
This is probably my last book by this author, which is a shame because I loved their writing. However it just feels like the same story over and over. Big strong alpha meets their mate. Runs away. Smaller mate finds them and all is forgiven immediately. Big strong alpha knows all and is a sex god. Smaller mate is usually virginal or sa survivor and doesn’t have much or any experience. Big strong alpha knows what’s best for teeny mate and teeny mate gives in every single time. Example: “I usually prefer going barefoot but my mate wants me to where socks, so socks it is’. Umm what?!? Teeny mate is treated like a child and NEVER knows what best for himself. Teeny mate changes EVERYTHING in his life and big strong alpha changes nothing but a bigger house. The relationships are so unbalanced it’s frustrating. This one is no different.
These guys... ya'll (they are so cute). Ramsey and Phineas couldn't be more different... So what happens when a strong, silent type gargoyle meets a sheltered but secretly-strong silver fox shifter? Sexy fireworks, of course, but their struggles are not their compatibility, but their assumptions about how it's all supposed to work. They get their happy ending, of course, but Taylor Rylan has once more woven these new characters into her existing, amazing Paranormal universe... I just can't stop reading. This is the next chapter in the expanding world of bears, wolves, warlocks, vampires, dragons, gargoyles, foxes, faes, and whatever new shifter species she can bring in... You will not be sorry you dipped a toe into the water. Even better, start at the beginning... Honey Creek Den with War's Mate! Enjoy!
Ramsey and Phineas story was the perfect addition to the series. Up until now we’ve seen the funny and rowdy Ramsey. It was great to see his emotions and love for Phineas. Phineas on the other hand was just so stinking cute and also loving. The beginning of their story was very heartfelt and funny at times; however, as it went on, we got to see both open up to each other. Their friends, family, and the created ones were around to support the couple from the beginning. We also got to meet a new created one and dive more into the family at the store. All in all, if you have followed the series, you won’t be disappointed and you do not want to miss this story. I can’t wait for Castiel story and see whose he is mated too.
Lost one star for lack of steamy moments. I’ve read all of this authors books from way back at the start of Honey Creek Den and all those sexy alpha bears. I’ve loved every book including this one but have noticed a drop off in the amount and voracity of hot steamy scenes between the mates in these newer books. I’m not saying you need smutty stuff to make these books good but now that I’ve grown so used to those moments it feels like there’s something lacking in these new relationships without that component. I never found those scenes over done or thrown in just to fill space. Regardless of how high the heat got or how often it rose up those moments helped to show the growth of the relationship and desire and devotion that the couple had for each other.
Bjo
What an awesome read. Ramsey was saying how he would love to have his mate, but I. Reality, he is scared with what happened with Alexander. When his brother Raiden asks him to go the store for diapers, he scents his mate. Phineas and Philip were raised by Ramon from a day old. They were constantly on the move and sheltered. When Phineas scents Ramsey, he is overjoyed and the. Sad when he ran out of the store. After two days, they were both struggling. Ramsey finally went back to the store and spoke with Phineas. This started their relationship in finally getting mated. Great world building, chemistry and high heat. And my all time fave of mpreg. Love this and cannot wait for more.
I liked the twist that the alpha in this story, Ramsey our gargoyle, was actually more scared about finding his mate then our small little fox shifter omega Phineas. Ramsey did have good reason to be hesitant but definitely should have communicated that better! Phineas is such a sweetheart and just wants a mate to love and please. Their physical intimacy definitely comes first as Ramsey figures out how to let loose, love and have faith. They have hot chemistry, but I ate up the quieter moments when they would hold one another. Despite his fears Ramsey was so protective of his omega which I adored.
I really enjoy this series because each book tells a different story from the perspective of different alphas and their mates. Ramsey and Phineas' story is particularly sweet and romantic. Ramsey is a gargoyle and Phineas is a fox, and they immediately recognize that they are mates. However, Ramsey has some reservations because he is larger than Phineas and doesn't want him to experience the same difficulties as his brother's mate. Despite these concerns, their story is a heartwarming and low-stress romance. I especially love the interactions between the twins and their protective brother Roman. I can't wait to read the next book in this series!
Ramsey is the ninth book in the Paranormal Council Enforcers series. The3y really need to be read in order to get the full experience of this series. Ramsey is a gargoyle shifter and Raiden’s twin brother. He seems like he may be the more wilder of the twins. He is mated with Phineas, one of the fox shifter twins that work at the council store. Phin’s brother Roman has worked hard to protect and raise him and his twin after their parents' deaths. These two were really sweet together. I loved that they needed to learn to and work hard to communicate. Overall, a sweet story, well written with nice pacing.
This was a pleasant read. After having binged this series I can tell there is a certain formula that the author usually follows with the stories. There is nothing wrong with that. I just should've given a break between books.
One complaint I do have though is that the author brings up plot points that could go somewhere interesting just to drop them or for them to be resolved off page, which is extremely frustrating to say the least. That too has become part of the authors formula in a way.
Anyway I will still probably pick up the next in the series when it comes out as it seems I have become invested in the lives of the paranormals at the council.
I could not put the book down once I started. Ramsey and Phineas had a bumpy start, but they finally figured things out with a little help. IMO it was a good balance between the main character, the paranormal council’s back story, and meeting new and see old side characters. Can we be done with being reminded the Everett was not a nice person previously? It’s getting really old seeing that in almost every book lately.
I have wondered about the brothers that run the store since they were first introduced. Boy, I never imagines this was their story. Phineas and Ramsey do not have a great start due to Ramsey's fear from his brother's recent mating. But once this is discussed, these two fall in love. There are a few twists in the story that might not be expected.
This is another great addition to the world that Taylor Rylan has created and keeps you fully involved in who will fall in love next.
No spoilers of any kind included. So all I will say about Ramsey is I absolutely loved it. But then again everything that Taylor Rylan writes I love because I think she is a very talented story weaver. So it will be yes I most definitely do recommend this book, actually I recommend the whole series because it’s awesome and because it’s better to start with the first book since they are all tied together even though it’s a different couple for each book.
I'm not sure what I was thinking picking this up as it's number 9 in the series and I have only read the first book, which I didn't love. I would have put this down and gone back to book 2, but I needed to read it for a challenge so I stuck with it, but found it confusing as obviously I was missing some of the back story. I generally like fated mates, and this book has a lot of positive reviews, but I keep getting unlucky with this series.
After reading Raiden, I was quite keen to get to Ramsey's book - and his mate is perfect for him!! I love Phineas!! He may be small, but he is mighty...the miscommunication at the beginning of the book was fairly eye-rolling but once they got their acts together, I enjoyed watching the two come together (along with their families). Ramsey was not as much of a troublemaker/prankster as I was expecting but I didn't mind too much.
Paranormal Council Enforcers Book 9 Everything you've come to expect from the Paranormal Council Enforcers series! Ramsey and Phin are a beautiful couple who bring out the best in each other. With a bit of help from the Originals and all of the siblings, these mates are good to go! Love it! Highly recommend!
Ramsey............ Ahhh, Ramsey & Phineas are the sweetest fated mates couple....Phineas with his pure innocence and Ramsey with his ability to be kind and caring....Ramsey, Enforcer Gargoyle has found his fated and the love that develops between him and Phineas is beautiful... Another absolute 5 star winner from Taylor Rylan!!!! Definitely worth buying the book for your home library!!!!
I greatly enjoyed this new edition to the Paranormal Council Enforcers series. Ramsey and Phineas are so sweet together. Watching their relationship grow was very satisfying. Again, Taylor Rylan has given us a book with rich world building and in-depth characters. I have loved every story in this series and highly recommend them!
Ramsey finds his mate and is scared to claim him. He worries that since he is a gargoyle that his mate could suffer. Phineas is a tiny, sweet fox that is Ramsey's match. They get off to a rocky start since neither one is good at communicating to each other but, with help their bond grows. This is a really sweet read.
