About the author

Seymour Victory Reit was the author of over 80 children's books as well as several works for adults. Reit was the creator, with cartoonist Joe Oriolo, of the character Casper the Friendly Ghost.

A pop-up book of unusual sophistrication traces the history of flight from Daedalus to some not too distant time when the first station is built in space. When you open the page with the Wright Brothers' airiplane, the book all but flies from your hands.

This fabulous pop-up book traces the history of flight from Greek mythology to space stations and beyond.

Beautiful illustrations burst out from the pages ranging from the many winged aircraft from the 1800s that tried to fly but couldn’t, the Lockheed Vega that took Amelia Earhart across the Atlantic in 1932, the “Spruce Goose” – the largest plane ever built that flew once in 1947, to the space shuttle, and a large space station being assembled.

Also included is a punch-out plane model to assemble. Great for both flight and space enthusiasts alike! Enjoy!
