More than thirty thousand years before Mathion, this is the story of Azgharáth the Betrayer. Born to a family of nobles but treated as a pariah, Azgharáth begins to plot, and exact, revenge on his family by waging a three thousand year war that will ravage his father's once-beautiful kingdom.
A longtime fan of science fiction, horror and fantasy, I have always dreamed of writing something that would impact people's lives and experiences, both literary and personal.
My biggest inspiration for my writing was and is The Lord of the Rings by J. R. R. Tolkien, as well as his entire Middle-earth legendarium.
I don't just limit myself to fantasy novels, though. I've also written a few screenplays and I'm an avid movie buff (to say the least).
MATHION, and the MAVONDURI TRILOGY as a whole has taken the better part of a decade to develop, and I hope that you enjoy the series as much as I enjoy writing it. The second book in the trilogy, THE LAST ASCENSION: BOOK TWO OF THE MAVONDURI TRILOGY, is currently forming itself and hopefully should be out soon. Anyway, check out the Mavonduri Trilogy Official Blog, subscribe to my YouTube channel (TheMavonduriTrilogy) and my Twitter (@Mavonduri) for the latest updates and general rambling from me!!
Just finished reading this today and oh my god, it was excellent. I'm not even going to try to pronounce its title but this was written like a journal from the point of view of Azgharath the werewolf king and his ascension and the destruction of his Kanin rivals.
This was a haunting read and allowed me to know more about the werewolf king without feeling sympathy for him while still feeling something for him (if that makes any sense)
This did exactly what it was meant to do, get me to read Mathionand for me it definitely has accomplished this for it is definitely my next read!
This is an excellent insight into an excellent character. Azgharath is the main villian of Mathion and I really enjoyed the chance to get inside of his head.
Even though this takes place before the main work, I consider this a great bonus read. I actually think this works better if you have read the main work first, but hey that is just my opinion.
This is a great little introduction to the Mathion series and tells the origins of the Kanins and of the path Azgharath took to war against his family and the White Wolves. This novella shows Azgharath's mindset in setting out on his quest and whets the appetite for the Mathion series.
