The bestselling authors of Yesterday’s Gone, 12, and No Justice bring you a brand new series that blends mystery and suspense into pulse-pounding, revenge-seeking thriller action.
After Stan sees his big chance go up in flames, he and Mo must now rely on Detective Mallory Black to break the case, only she’s being watched from the inside. They’ll have to do it themselves.
They must go to Stan’s safety deposit box in Texas to get the evidence back, but they’re being followed. A female detective and a bunch of dirty cops trying to keep them from getting to the bank, and if their pursuers know about it, somebody close to Stan must have talked.
Stan calls in even more favors, this time from Household Services, the fixers he’s used in the past, but the cleaner running the show only seems to be in it for the money, and his price is far too high. Stan must convince him to help get the evidence before Stan and everybody he loves is killed on the road.
Cold Reckoning is the second book in the new King & Wright Cold Vengeance series. Start reading your favorite new vigilante-noir thriller today!
Nolon King writes smart psychological thrillers designed to leave you on the edge of your seat. His stories are dark, twisty, and often decidedly close to home.
He’s not afraid to explore the darker side of human nature through stories featuring families torn apart by secrets and lies. If you enjoy reading authors like Darcey Bell and Harlan Coban, movies like A Simple Favor and The Hand That Rocks the Cradle, or shows like Ozark and Dead to Me, you’ll love Nolon King.
When not writing you will find Nolon drinking black coffee and observing humans in their natural habitats.
This is another winner by Nolon King and David Wright. The characters are awesome and by now feel like old friends. The story is fast-paced, non-stop, and very difficult to put down.. One thing I particularly liked about the book is the changing dynamic among the couples. The men still feel like they have to protect "their women", but the women are getting a chance to show that they can take care of themselves, too. These are not wimpy little girls that need their big strong men to take care of them. And I thoroughly enjoyed the chance to get to "know" Haggis better. He is quickly becoming a favorite. I can't wait to see where the next book leads on this righteous mission and how Stan and his team mete out the justice so desperately
It has been a while since I read cold justice. And it took me some time to get back in the groove with the characters. And then I was done; it seemed to end abruptly and left me wanting more. (Just fyi- I prefer to read completed series sa as not to be left wanting. And not to have to drudge up previously read info from the depths of my memory)
I can’t wait for the next; so that I can continue on and see how it all winds together. Note: this story line is not a stand alone and should be read in order.
Draws you in to each character in the story until you feel like they are your personal acquaintances. Sometimes I want to hug them sometimes I want to smack them. I read until I can't keep my eyes open, put it down to go to sleep and continue to create the rest of the story in my head. I feel like I'm a part of the story. But the way this one ended was weird there has to be a next book coming soon I hope.
I enjoyed reading the book, but there were a lot of characters to keep track of. A warning there is a lot of violence, rape, and sex in this book. I tried to follow the main characters as good as I could, but it was sometimes very hard. I recommend this book if you’re into. A violent, kind of book.
