James Shipway - Making stuff up since 1992.
I was born and raised in Cornwall but have spent some time in London and Plymouth where I studied music. I typically read and write anything horror, sci-fi or fantasy, the more unusual the better. My favourite book at the moment is The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August by Claire North, which was a big influence on my decision to take writing more seriously. I hope you all enjoy reading my first novel Thatcher's Tree, at least as much as I did writing it. If all goes well then I have many more stories to share.

GREAT AND SIMPLE!

A lot of people, including myself, see music theory as an insurmountable subject within the context of their musical journey. This book shows how simple it actually is and can grow you from a guitar player who memorizes a few chords, scales and songs into a guitarist who has the tools to create and bring music out of themselves. James Shipway writes about music theory in a way that musicians at any level can understand and simultaneously covers areas of music theory that can challenge even seasoned musicians as well. I’ll definitely be revisiting this book in the future!

Books 1 and 2 are excellent for beginners

This first two books are great for beginners in understanding chord creation and progression. Very thorough explanation without getting overly technical.

Loved

Made a difficult subject readily understandable. Clearly written and without all the complexity. Feels like a good foundation and I can now delve deeper in areas if I desire.
