I really enjoyed the intro to Spirit World but the Vigil story I've already read - in the mess that was Lazarus Planet. City Boy's story was also very familiar, but that could be because I used this comic to wrap a present for my nephew.
It's great they're introducing these new characters and trying to represent more people, but City Boy is a weak character so I don't see him going very far. Spirit World (does she even have a name or is that really what she's going with?!) was the real hero here, and I can get behind her and her story.
Vigil interests me but disappointed they just copied over the same story. Still, can't complain when it's free, I guess.
A decent intro to these characters. It will be interesting to see if they take off.

The Envoy: A Spirit World Story
Xanthie Zhou is at Grandma Lo’s grave.
Cool artwork; good colors.
Xanthie has dreadful style. The shaved sides of her head and the mom jeans are not cute.
Vampires in the cemetery: the jiangshi.
Batgirl shows up to help Xanthie. Batgirl has much better style.
Thankfully, John Constantine shows up as well. He’s hot.
The pieces of paper do not do what Xanthie had hoped…
The Vigil: See No Evil
Lazarus Resin has become quite a hot commodity in Gotham.
Mr. Hood chases a female.
Good action, but cloaked in excessive mystery.
City Boy
After a series of unfortunate events—and that’s not counting the chinstrap beard and flood-weather pants—Darkwing comes to the young man’s rescue.
All three stories are quite lackluster.

I enjoyed this book it. I enjoyed all three stories. How will the new kids on the block fit in to the old establishment of Gotham. I am looking forward to all three upcoming stories.
