Book 1: The Sheriff, the Gimp, and The Queen of the Underworld

Rate this book
Utah, 1875 and in the small town of Tooele there is turmoil. The town may have been filled with sin and degradation, having their sinful needs satisfied at the local saloon or whorehouse, but the townsfolk enjoyed the comfortable feeling of safety. The balance of power had enjoyed calmness as Aunt Phyllis, the leader of the criminal underworld, and Sheriff Posey understood each other’s role in preserving peace and order in the town. Their conflicting approaches as well as their storied history led to a quiet tension that never broke. The sense of safety is quickly shattered when a young kid, who is riddled with scars and walks with a limp, strolls into town and murders many of the town’s most beloved figures. The Gimp, as they call him, receives letters from a mysterious cohort who guides him to his next kill. Aunt Phyllis and the Sheriff with his most trusted deputy, Leena, take their own measures as they seek to preserve the sanctity of their beloved town. And still, peace is elusive as the Gimp continues his rampage. Myth and lore haunts the town of Tooele as it’s rumored that the Man in the Mountain is gathering strength to regain power and rule once again. No one dares mentions his name. Chaos ensues as battle lines are drawn and alliances start to form in the once peaceful town. Join the carnage!
