Forgotten Destination

Rate this book
Earl Robinson always did things to please others, even if the choices meant he would be unhappy in life. Since he was a child, he never made a decision of his own. Now, at 46, he’s wondering if he’s living the life he always wanted, or is there something more out there. Even his boss thinks he needs to start putting himself out there and be more outgoing instead of locking himself in his office all day.

One morning, Earl wakes up and finds himself aboard Forgotten Destination, a train he doesn’t remember getting on. He soon finds out from Melissa, the woman sitting next to him on the train, that Forgotten Destination isn’t your ordinary train. Earl doesn’t know what she means by that statement, but soon finds out once the train starts making interesting stops for him alone. Earl soon discovers what Melissa meant about this not being your regular train.

Earl wants to get off this train, but it’s not going to be easy. During his attempts to leave, he finds others who are in the same predicament and they form a group to escape Forgotten Destination, but it’s not going to be easy.

I am a New York City girl and have lived here all my life. It is a great place to find inspiration for my writing. I write romance novels and poetry. My first novel is Edge of Love and I am currently working on my first poetry book. I wrote my first story when I was 6 years old and my first poem when I was 9. It was then I realized my love for writing.

Unusual story

This book kinda reminded me of a Dean Knots book. At first I wasn't sure about it. As I kept reading I enjoyed it. Its worth the read. If you are fond of thrillers try this book.

Great read!

I was engulfed in the story from the very first page. We can all relate to the protagonists story as we've all been in the same predicament, metaphorically speaking.
Definitely recommend reading, especially if you're currently in a position where you feel stuck in some aspect of your life, work, relationships, you name it. 😉

Actually ok!

A tightly written allegorical piece. a lot of typos and somewhat transparent use of a tired trope but well enough done for what it is.

A discontented man finds himself on a mysterious train with no memory of getting there. This is not a spoiler. The trouble is, it also kind of is (you'll see what I mean...).

The story seems intended as an allegory and I was at first in danger of NFing. But I stuck with it and though I was disappointed in the predictability and unoriginal use of the trope, the story was competently enough executed if saved somewhat by its brevity. There are enough typos to notice but not so many as to distract from the read overmuch.

Unoriginal, contains typos but an ok, harmless short yarn. Would recommend as light transit lounge reading. Or if you've never come across the concept before.
