Courtney has a torturous past, one that she has tried her best to escape. Unfortunately, her past comes back to haunt and torture her some more both physically and mentally. Sean, who is hopelessly in love with her, finally decides to approach her and ask her out. When he arrives at her door, he soon discovers Courtney badly beaten and in desperate need of help. When she awakes in the hospital, Sean is by her side. Understandably, Courtney is afraid to trust any man after everything her ex has put her through. Sean seems nice, sincere and compassionate, but she has been fooled before. Days later, after to listening to others singing his praises and having him constantly by her side at the hospital, she agrees to stay with him and his family. There are plenty of security measures in place to keep her safe, at least physically, but she wonders how she will keep herself from falling for Sean and all of his family who have taken her in even though danger may follow her. When her ex reaches out to torture her some more, Sean and his family are there to help her find the answers she needs.
Their story is emotional, a bit twisty and has a strong message of hope and faith throughout. The closeness of his family, their unconditional love and support of each other is also an important part of Courtney and Sean’s story. The conclusion of their story is especially heartwarming.
I received a copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving this review.
If you're looking for a book with all the "feels," No Mistletoe Kiss for a Cowboy is for you. I was happy to go back to Cowboy Crossing with the Irish cowboy brothers. Sean is the last of the brothers to be single. His protective instinct goes into high gear when he finds Courtney beaten and unconscious. Unfortunately, due to her past she is determined to be independent. I enjoyed the strong family bond shared by the McNeill family and how the sisters-in-law reached out to include Courtney. I loved reading about the faith of the family and reading about Courtney's faith journey. The plot has twists and turns that I didn't see coming. I would recommend this book to clean and Christian romance readers, to romance readers that like a touch of suspense, to lovers of all things cowboy, and to those enjoy reading about Christmas traditions. I would definitely read more by author Alexa Verde and feel very comfortable recommending her to family and friends. I received a complimentary copy and am sharing my opinion of this very well-written book.
Loved Courtney and Sean's story!! Sean met Courtney when she helped get Genevieve's daughter back. Sean fell for her then, and has kept in touch. Now, he's doing a surprise visit, hoping she'll agree to go out to dinner with him. When he finds her unconscious in her home after her ex-husband beat her and left her for dead, he just wants to protect her. Courtney knows she's not good enough for Sean, and who is she to listen to her heart anyway, after she picked Lowell. The more time she spends with Sean and his family, the more she wants what they have, and not just the family, but their relationship with God. Will these two ever get their lines of communication uncrossed and embrace a life together, or will it be too late?? I love this series, and loved the way these two finally get together!
I received a complimentary copy of this book, was not required to leave a review, and the opinion expressed is my own.

Finally the last book in the Escape to Cowboy Crossing Series. All of these stories have been filled with drama and suspense that has followed these ladies to Cowboy Crossings. The stories are best read in order as the characters and situations carry over from book to book. The guys in these stories are all brothers with some of them helping to run the family ranch. This story is about the last single McNeill brother, Sean. His other five brothers have all settled down in marriage. There was a fore shadow of this story in one of the previous books where Sean got to know Courtney Rogers as she helped them rescue Genevieve's daughter. Sean was very interested in Courtney but could tell she hid a lot of pain and secrets.
This story opens as Courtney's ex-husband catches her alone and after beating her leaves her in her house near Christmas. He implies he has something she would like to know. Sean is still interested in Courtney and he decides to pay her a visit since she lives a distance from Cowboy Crossing. He wants to ask her on a dinner date. When he finds her house lit and no answer to his knock, he thinks she is avoiding him. He realizes something is wrong when he finds the house unlocked and Courtney laying on the floor with multiple bruises and a broken leg. She is unconscious and unresponsive and he called 911.
When Courtney comes to in the hospital, she tells the police her ex husband Lowell had beaten her. She has broken ribs and a broken leg but thankfully not a broken nose. The hospital will not release her unless she has someone to take care of her. Sean volunteers to take her home to Cowboy Crossing to stay at the fortified lodge where his sister-in-laws lived when they came to live there.
Courtney has lived through an abusive father and then an abusive husband so she has lots of trust issues. Her life situations has made her stronger than she thinks she is and being around Sean and his family will help build up her broken confidence.
Will Courtney learn to trust that Sean is nothing like her ex-husband? When her husband finally reveals what he's been keeping from her will she turn to Sean and his family for help or will she decide to find Lowell to confront him by herself?
This was a great conclusion to the Series.
I received a copy of this book from the author and this is my honest unbieased review.
This is the final (I think) story in the Escape to Cowboy Crossing series. Sean and Courtney met in an earlier book, and this is their story. Courtney is a domestic abuse survivor who is on the run from a violent ex-husband. Sean is the last unmarried MacNeill brother. Courtney's ex finds her and nearly kills her. Sean has decided to ask her for a Christmas date and shows up at her house. He finds Courtney beaten and unconscious on the floor. The suspense continues as her ex plays a cat and mouse game with Courtney, who is recuperating at one of the MacNeill ranch houses. This story has a surprise baby, the MacNeill family dynamics, a furious girl-friend with a gun, strengrh and empowerment, a sweet German Shepherd named Ada, forgiveness and reconciliation, and in the end, a happily ever after. It was a great read.
Courtney escaped an abusive marriage and has been hiding from her ex- ever since her divorce. Her marriage is only one of the things she regrets. The other is one she will never get over.
Sean McNeill is the only unmarried son in his family. He's happy for his brothers, but lately, since Courtney moved to town, he has wished for something more. When he sees her broken body in the hospital bed, he knows he will do anything to protect her and his family will help.
This is an excellent addition to the series. I like how it brings a real-world issue to the forefront of the story and addresses some common misconceptions about domestic violence. I received an advance copy but my review is honest and voluntary.
Such a wonderful story of how good is able to come from evil. Courtney has fought to survive all of her life. As a child, she suffered from an abusive father leading her to rush into a marriage that put her under an abusive husband. After the loss of her child and her divorce she has spent her years in hiding. When Sean goes to visit, he discovers her brutally beaten. Upon release from the hospital he offers her help, protection, and peace in Cowboy Crossing. Then she discovers her daughter survived and her ex-husband had kidnapped her. When he uses the girl to try to get Courtney back into his control, Sean and his family volunteer to help find her daughter. Will they be successful in reconnecting mother and daughter?
No Mistletoe Kiss For A Cowboy ( Escape To Cowboy Crossing #6 ) Alexa Verde I really loved No Mistletoe Kiss For A Cowboy which is the sixth book in the series Escape To Cowboy Crossing. Small town romance with faith, humor, and danger that will keep you reading way in the night. This story deals with a subject, abuse, that no one loves to deal with. This is Sean and Courtney’s story. All Sean’s other brothers are already married off. Courtney has had to fight to survive all her life. A cowboy in love, but other news might tear them apart. Can they survive it all? This is a good story where Family sticks together for each other. I was given a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
This is my voluntary review of a copy I received from the author.
There is recent history some intense physical abuse in this one. Courtney is at the beginning stages of recovery of the multifaceted trauma that abuse causes, so many of her thoughts and actions are based on what she would have done vs what she can do now. She looks at Sean through that “before and after” lens, too.
Neither main character is great with words. It makes for adorably awkward moments, but it never seems overdone.
Such an amazing story about a difficult and terrifying problem. Alexa has written about this subject with courage, strength and emotion. Courtney suffered from terrible pain and injuries caused by her ex husband. After finally divorcing him she has started to rebuild her life. Unfortunately he finds her again only to deliver an awful beating. Sean and his family have offered Courtney a place to stay while she recovers, but his feelings continue to grow and he’s afraid that she won’t be able to return those feelings.
Courtney grew up with an abusive father and jumped into marriage to escape, not realising she went from the frying pan into the fire. Even though she is divorced, she is living in fear - justified fear as he found her and almost killed her. Thankfully Sean found her before she bled out and got her to help, then offered her a safe place to stay while she healed. When she found out that her 'stillborn' daughter may never have been dead, she was willing to risk anything to find her. I received an ARC but this review is my own.
From the first page of this book, I was gripped with anticipation. That's a heartbreaking tale, but sadly, it rings true for a lot of people. I adore how so many people came together to support Courtney in overcoming the abuse that her former husband had inflicted upon her. This book was expertly written by Alexa Verde. I urge everyone to check it out. "I was sent an advance copy of this book. All views expressed are entirely mine.
Gripping story that will keep you turning the page. (Kept me up way too late to finish it.) Courtney is a much stronger woman than she realizes. I love it when she starts to see herself as a survivor rather than a victim or the cause of the abuse. This topic is treated with respect and sensitivity by Alexa Verde. Sean is the epitome of patience and love. Such a wonderful story that I highly recommend. I received a free copy of this book and this is my voluntary, honest review.
The story starts with a bang that squeezed my heart, it saddens me that there's women going through this every day. This is a great book that kept me on the edge of my seat at times. It's a very touching story of God's healing, a second chance and a beautiful romance between two great characters. The McNeill family stepped up to welcome and protect Courtney. There is so much to this story, best to get the book and read it for yourself, no doubt you will enjoy it.
Courtney lived through a life no human should ever have to face. Unfortunately this happens to too many in today's society, and within both genders. Alexa has shown through this story what love can truly accomplish, both physically and emotionally. The story is so well written that it becomes easy to become absorbed into it. If you don't shed a tear or two then it's time to question the humanity and love there is within. This is a definate five star.
A battered female pilot finds love with a Missouri Cowboy.
Enjoyed finishing out the series. Sean and Courtney story began with some excitment. Sean and his family became her new family. But she had a lot to get through. Before true love came to her and Sean was her true love. She even gained her daughter back. So happy for all the O Neil brothers they all got just what they needed.
In this book you will read about abuse and wonderful people willing to help. Courtney had an abusive life with her father and husband. Sean is a wonderful man who is there to protect her from the evil ex husband. The Mc Neil family are truly amazing people who are always there to support in any way possible. You will be on the edge of your seat waiting to see what happens to Courtney and Sean.
After surviving abuse again, she found acceptance, hope, love and a new family who loved her for herself and so much more. Read this wonderful book and series from this amazing author Alexa Verde. I highly recommend escaping to Cowboy Crossing and enjoy all who live here.
I’ve been awaiting Courtney’s story with much anticipation. And this book did not disappoint. There was so much more history and things going on than I could’ve hoped for or imagined. This was a great, suspenseful read filled with faith and family and healing. I loved it.
I received an ARC of this book from the author and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Wow! Wow. This is the 6th book of this fabulous series
I love this book of Courtney and Sean's story. I can relate with Courtney life because I can relate with her in her abuse. I am glad how she found love and to overcome what she went through. Alexa, the you did a beautiful job in creating this heartfelt story.
Wow, Courtney's life was a mess. From childhood to an adult. Sean comes along and changes her perspective on life. When you read this book you will be in awe. My heart breaks for women who are in a position like Courtney. Alexa this is a very good book. Thanks!
Sean's and Courtney's story is a rough ride. Their road to belief in new love and trust is a slow one. The McNeil Family as a whole, however, is filled with love, acceptance, and an endless willingness to help whenever and wherever possible. Of course, the addition of children and pets are always welcome!
All the brothers are now happily married to wonderful but previously injured women. As each couple gets together the difficulties are discovered, worked through and settled. Each couple and the men's parents step up to resolve sometimes terrifying issues and each story brings closure, love and HEA. Great clean series!
Such a good story line. It’s something that happens in real life. This book makes you a part of the going ons in the story line. You get invested with their lives, sadness and their eventual happiness and the end of the tunnel into the light of happiness.
This was a sweet story with some gritty twists. I enjoyed getting to know the MCs and other characters. The plot moved along at a pleasant pace and kept me interested. It’s clean and inspirational, with just the right balance of romance and life. If that appeals to you, then check out this book!
I obtained the first book from Redbooks and I just finished the sixth book. The books draw you in until you want to visit "Cowboy Crossing" to run into your very own cowboy. Excellent character development together with realistic everyday females dealing with life's worst experiences.
This book sucks you in from the very first page! What a heartbreaking story for Courtney but one that resonates with so many people. The cycle of abuse is so hard to break but luckily Sean (along with his family) is there to support her. This book kept me reading far into the night!
I've so enjoyed this series with these foster sisters and the McNeill men. Sean and Courtney’s story is full of mystery, suspense and romance. These two had a lot to overcome to get to their HEA. It all makes for a captivating story that I hated to end.
What a well written and amazing, story filled with twists and turns. The author did a masterful job of showing the pain and struggle that someone who has suffered in an abusive relationship goes through.
