The Crown is the third and final novel in the Shifter Royals trilogy that takes place amongst Leigh Walker’s Vampire Royals series and is an exciting and romantic conclusion to Tamara’s story.

After a vicious attack on their King, the werewolves of The Realm are anxious. Though no one is certain their exact enemy, Rhys and his pack are preparing to defend their new home and will do so until the death. As they prepare for war, the competition to become King Rhys’s bride is also drawing to a close. The final three woman know that soon one of them will be chosen and for Tamara Layne the hope is that she will be the one Rhys decides to spend his life with. Having been in two dating competitions---one with vampires and one with werewolves----Tamara knows that whatever the outcome, hearts are bound to be broken. She can only hope that it won’t be hers seeing as it belongs entirely to Rhys, but with the werewolves on edge and dangers mounting, the contest seems like the last thing they should be worried about. Will Tamara be able to help Rhys protect his people or will his desire to keep her from danger drive a wedge between them right when they’re so close to starting their happily ever after?

From the very first chapter in the first novel, Shifter Royals has been addictive reading. I’ve breezed through all three novels and highly enjoyed reading Tamara’s tale. This series is light and fun; effortless reading that readers can pick up when they’re wanting something supernatural, entertaining and romantic. Leigh Walker weaves plenty of romance and danger amongst the story alongside the paranormal aspect of vampires and werewolves. The Crown is a nice ending to the story. Walker seems to tie things up very nicely even if I feel like I could keep reading the series forever. I certainly wouldn’t turn my nose up at Duncan and Shaye tale---it’d be interesting to see more of the opinionated werewolf and Shaye is the only one of the original gals (Gywn, Blake, Tamara and Shaye) who hasn’t found love.

The Crown sees Rhys make his final choice in the competition. Obviously it goes without saying who the choice is, but I’ve still very much enjoyed seeing he and Tamara connect and fall throughout the series. Leigh Walker includes some endearing moments of intimacy in this instalment and I liked seeing the ease of Tamara and Rhys’s relationship. They also have a lot of bite to them as well as the occasional clash of opinions that makes their romance feel more real---their relationship is not perfect but they push each other for the better and will definitely make wonderful rulers.

I’m a bit sad to see the series come to an end, but I’ve enjoyed the journey and will still keep my eye out to see if one day Leigh Walker decides to explore her werewolf world further. I’d love to see that Duncan and Shaye series come to fruition as I think seeing more of Rhys’s people and their new home would be an enjoyable experience.

Now I cannot say that many of these tales in the Realm were overtly romantic. It was more obscene and slutty for the cameras. However, once the L words had been exchanged, there was a shift. Now the wolves and the girls and the people staying in the Realm were coming together and now on the same side for the protection of each other and their Kingdom.

The part that I did enjoy the most, although minor, was the gnomes. I was never so happy to see they got their HEA.

I am sure the story continues, but I think this is the end of the road for me. On to new stories!

I love this series, and I love this author’s writing!! It has been such a journey to see Tamara go from stuck up and spoiled to strong-willed and in love. She let herself be vulnerable, and she put herself out there with her heart on her sleeve for King Rhys. I like this new Tamara! She still won’t back down from a fight, and the tug-of-war for control between her and Rhys was entertaining.

There was less drama between the contestants this time, which was a little disappointing but also made sense. I loved that Tamara and the girls remained such good friends even when they had to watch each other date the king. Maya *shudders* was a surprise, and I really liked the young vampire Jenny.

There are some loose ends that were left, so maybe this means there will be more books set in this world?? We’ll have to wait and see, but I’d be all for it!!

Leigh Walker is a goddess!

Okay, I have loved her stories for years now and it seems with every book I read the greater my love becomes. I don't know how she does it but somehow she keeps my hopeless romantic heart perfectly intact. I was worried that Tamara wouldn't be able to get out of her own head but thankfully, her heart won the battle. Lots of intrigue, excitement and swoon worthy moments to keep me hungry for more. I can't wait to fall in love again!

These books are really easy quick and fun, but this one kept a lot of the things I hated in the second one. I didn't like the games being played or the fact that Rhys was really stringing along all these women. It just felt overdone and I wanted it to be over. The ending was okay, but this was definitely my least favorite of the three love stories in the series.

Way better than the last one. Finally feeling secure about Rhys‘ feelings and intentions, Tamara is back to her old self. Strong, fierce, independent and not afraid to speak her mind. You can tell by the rather abrupt ending that Leigh Walker is totally into romance and not so much into action/fighting, but that’s not what this series was about anyway.
A good ending to this series. Well done!

I loved the ending. I was hoping to see some of the other wolves find love...but maybe another book is coming for a certain other someone. I can't get enough of this world. Always looking forward to more Leigh Walker books.

Such a fun Series

I really ended up loving Tamara and this series. It's perfect because you get to hear about the other ladies from the earlier series but get a brand new story. I wonder if we'll hear about Shaye next?

Good book. Love the series and the characters but wasn’t my fav book out of the rest. I didn’t understand how she could invite Maya to her wedding after all her scams. Just was a terrible ending. And the rest of the series is so sweet about love and this was was the King snogging 3 girls.

A great conclusion to this trilogy. I felt like it wrapped up everything it needed to for this particular story arc while leaving a little bit for the next book. I liked the balance between the action and the romance.
