Sisterhood of the Stones #1-3

Sisterhood of the Stones: The Complete Series

Rate this book
Sisterhood of the Stones is a delightfully funny complete paranormal series about three women thrown together by cursed Citrine, Sapphire, and Onyx. The series is light on the paranormal, light on the romance, and heavy on the hilarious .

The legend of the stones claims that there was a pirate and a witch who shared an undying love, but something went wrong. What? It's unclear.

Fast forward a few years and Cami, Delilah, and Dr. Ember Thorn must work together to solve the unanswered mystery of Renegade Remington and the love of his life, Ariyah, or be cursed by the stones forever.

Along the way, if they're open to it and very lucky, perhaps the ladies might find the loves of their lives, lasting friendship, and oh yeah, one very lovable pig.

Citrine
It's inappropriate to wish for your ex-husband to be run over by a truck.
Sapphire

This boxset contains all three books of the Sisterhood of the Stones series and starts off with a wedding planner having to work on her own daughter’s wedding on a small Caribbean island. When Ms Cami (Camille) Danes-LaCroix turns up at the Caribbean Knights Hotel and Resort on Pararey Island, for the week long wedding party for her daughter Lorelai to her fiancé Noah Hollingsworth, the son of her arch nemesis Jolene since her school days, and will have to put up with her ex-husband Jean-Luc and his latest young bimbo as well. Finding that her suite has been given to Jolene Hollingsworth is the first of many things going wrong with the wedding. First the hotel suites and rooms, then the wedding cake, the band and so much more. It seems that nothing is going right, apart from the fact that her ex-Jean-Luc (JL) is at least paying for most of it. When JL offers to take over and allow her to have some time to relax in the sun, she takes it and visits a small market by the pier on the island. There she finds a stall with a woman selling exotic trinket boxes and the like, one with a yellow colour stone inside. It is a Citrine stone and is attached to a necklace which calls to her. Even though it costs as much as a month and a half of her mortgage, she has to have it, but still hasn’t managed to open it!

One night she gets dressed and finds the box has opened, so she puts the necklace on and goes to a small bar on the beach for a drink. There she meets a man called Remy (Ethan) Remington, who is dressed almost like a pirate, who tells her he is an actor playing the role of his distant relative, the pirate Captain Renegade Remington. A romance soon starts between the two and whenever she wears the necklace or has it close to hand, it seems that anything she wishes, comes true. A nice bit of comedy when she wishes her ex-husband could turn into a pig and he then goes missing, just as a wild pig is found running through the hotel restaurant. Arthur, the front desk manager, gets out his crossbow and starts to try and hunt it down! When her mother Penelope comes around, she tries to stop Arthur, having something for pigs and hating to see it possibly getting hurt. The Barbie like girlfriend accuses Cami of murdering Jean-Luc and ends up getting her pulled in for questioning. When the necklace goes missing, she accuses someone close to her, only to find out he is not exactly who he pretends to be. It turns out as well as being a direct descendant of Renegade, he is also a special investigator and was hired by the museum’s insurance company, to recover three special stones. Sometimes you should be careful what you wish for, but for Cami most of it has worked out right. The disaster of her daughter’s wedding suddenly seems to be fixed, item by item off her list, just the matter of Jean-Luc to solve now before the actual wedding day!

In the second book, the main character is Delilah Bradbury, an actress, who ten years before made an absolute mess of her life and career at an awards ceremony, fighting with the woman who stole her husband. She fell from grace in a massive way, but afterwards made it worse by doing a tell-it-all book about all the famous people in Hollywood. That certainly burnt any bridges still standing, that’s for sure. Now she is used to living a somewhat reduced lifestyle, only buying something if she absolutely needs it. When a man from Repo Ron came to repo her car, he fell in love with her, but still took the car! He is Nicky Pontchalac, a Cajun, who she calls Nicky or Ron, depending on her mood. He loves her for who she is now and she made a rule with him for them to start from that day on, and to ignore anything they might have done before they met. She has already had four husbands, so they are quite happy living together for now. When an unexpected invitation comes through, wanting her to present an award, but to her former foe, she is unsure whether to accept. She is out of that life now and isn’t sure if it would be a good idea to return. Her former agent persuades her to go, but it ends up in almost a reverse of the situation she found herself in before. Out shopping with Nicky, she spots a brilliant blue necklace and is drawn towards it. It will match the dress she still has from her old days. The only problem is that she starts to hear voices all the time and wonders if she is going mad!

They soon find out that the necklace is part of pirate Renegade Remington’s treasure, long lost and then found by a treasure hunter some years ago and lent to a museum, only to be stolen. Renegade was in love with a witch called Ariya and she spelled the stones, trying to get her love back after he was made to walk the plank! Delilah hears one voice quite clearly, telling her to return the stone and Nicky convinces her to go to Pararey Island and find out more. Although there is a little bit more to his wish than she knows at this time! The pressure is on to figure out what the witch wants and how the stone is supposed to be returned or whether she can actually keep it, as the stone’s powers can be quite addictive! Nicky and Delilah make arrangements to do lots of different things while they are on the island, but some of them turn out to be quite dangerous. A dive on the wreck of Renegade’s ends with her almost losing her life as something or someone seems to be holding her back, leaving an imprint of their fingers on her shoulder! Worries about whether Nicky will think she has gone mad, or leave her because of their age gap, never mind the voices from the stone, all leave her worrying about their relationship and if it will last. A visit from Cami and Remy in his role as an investigator, soon adds in another concern, but she refuses to admit if the stone is even in her possession.

Another person is added into the mix as the third book begins with Dr Em (Ember) Thorn (aka Thornbridge), a doctor at a large general hospital. She wasn’t actually on shift at the time and was in fact accompanying her mother, who had fallen over her cat breaking her hip and was refusing to have surgery until her daughter took a necklace to a small Caribbean island. Her mother has always believed in spells and potions, telling Ember that they are from a long line of witches, all the way back to the original witch, Ariya Thornbridge, mistress of the pirate Renegade. Her mother was supposed to fly to Pararey Island that very day, so eventually she agrees to get her mum to have surgery, but has no real intention to do so. She puts the necklace in her locker and goes to help out on the unit, only to be called to see her boss, having made a pretty big mistake, sending the wrong person to the morgue! She has to apologise to the patient, but still ends up suspended and then told the patient is suing her and the hospital. Not good! Lots of other little accidents happen, which she tries to put down to bad luck, but her mother insists are because the necklace needs to be returned to the island. After a few too many accidents for them really to be just by chance, she ends up agreeing to go to the island and seeing what she can find out.

On the flight out, she is seated next to quite a handsome man and they start talking, but when she gives her first name, he asks if she is a doctor and gives her full name. It seems fate has it in for her, as he is the son of the man she tried to send to the morgue! She and Will Remington are the only two getting off on the mainland by the island, but again fate means her luggage doesn’t arrive with her. The ferry ride to the island is on a very small boat with an odd old lady and a pig, who accelerates from the dock, throwing non-swimmer Ember into the ocean! She starts to sink as she can’t swim, but then feels something pushing her back up to the surface, with a voice and image of a pirate telling her to return the stones to the sea. When she and Will Remington arrive at the hotel it is to find it almost full, as a film is being made about Ariya Thornbridge and Renegade Remington. Delilah Bradbury, former actress, is directing the film and Ember was one of her biggest fans. She sits at the table beside her icon, as her room isn’t ready yet, and overhears her telling her friend about issues with needing a doctor on set to abide by the regulations for filming on the island, plus issues with their main actor. Ember interrupts with suggestions for both, with herself as the doctor and Will as the replacement actor, since he is a descendant of the pirate himself! When the lead young actress hears a nobody is going to be starring opposite her, she quits, leaving Ember having to do the role, being a direct descendant of Ariya, she at least looks like her!

She soon finds out that Delilah and Cami also have one of the stones, with Ember’s being a black onyx which allows her to stop time. She only finds that out by accident and then tests it out a few times, thinking she is crazy first of all. The three of them visit the museum to research more about the pirate and the witch, finding her journal under a glass case. The very journal Ember’s own mother has a few pages copied out of. Maybe she should have been a bit nicer to her other and believed all this witchy stuff she had been talking about for her whole life! It seems Aiya is getting more desperate to get back to her Renegade and her curse on the stones allow her to do quite a few unexpected things, with a pox on one of them and even possessing another. Lots of fun times as Will and Ember are used by Renegade and Ariya and not remembering what has taken place each night, but never waking up where they expect, nor dressed as they were the night before. The women need to figure out how to return the stones to the sea, but there is a bit of a ritual and spell that needs to done at a very special turn of the moon. Only Ariya doesn’t want to be returned to the sea, she thinks she can use one of them to be back with the love of her life. She has spent many lifetimes trying and she will do whatever it takes to get there and Ember won’t be able to stop a witch with her powers and years of experience. Maybe the film itself and changes to the tale to follow the more factual side of what really happened to the two main characters, will allow them to have some peace at last. Amusing ending and nothing is ever going to be straightforward or easy, that’s for sure! Lots of romance in each storyline and some amusing happenings along the way linking all the way back to the original pirate and witch. Great fun to read. I received an ARC copy of this boxset from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the books above.

Citrine Wishes
This book left me howling with laughter. I think any of us with an ex in our past can sympathize with what Cami’s going through. Likewise, all of us with family connections. There’s so much of this story that, while living down to some of the worst possible stereotypes of Murphy’s Law, is just so quintessentially part of the human experience that it’s immediately and immensely relatable. It also showcases one of my favorite things to laugh at: the absurd in the everyday. This story is completely over the top, but I think that’s what I loved most about it. Now I’m already looking forward to what mischief the next piece of the treasure will bring.
Sapphire Omens
This story made me laugh and sigh and “squee!” with delight. While a big portion of this story stands well on its own, this is the second book in the series and I don’t recommend starting it without having read the first. We encounter several characters we were first introduced to in the previous book, and the story of the stones, themselves, is a continuation. I adored Delilah. Even though I don’t have experience with her particular fall from Grace, there are definitely elements of her story that I can recognize in my own. And Nicky? If anyone knows how to pull a hero out of a book and clone him, let me know. I plan to start right here with Nicholas Pontchalac. He’s sweet and supportive. A bit of a bad boy – I can’t give you details, that would be getting all spoiler-y. All-in-all, what my book boyfriend dreams are made of. As we learn more about the mystery of Renegade’s Treasure, I’m more desperate than ever to discover the rest of the story. I can’t wait to see what the next book brings us.
Onyx Interruptions
Ember and Will are both logical down-to-Earth people who really don’t have a lot of patience for mystical woo-woo magical nonsense. But they’re about to learn that sometimes magic happens no matter whether you believe in it or not. Oh my gosh! That was the most amazing ending to the series. It was not at all what I was expecting and took several sharp turns into places I hadn’t even thought of. It was the perfect way to wrap up the legend of the pirate and the witch, but I’m going to miss this collection of quirky characters now that it’s over.

Citrine Wishes:
I absolutely loved this book and all the crazy unexpected twists and hilarious turns. While trying to plan her daughter's dream wedding Cami is thrown into complete chaos when nothing seems to go as planned. When a sexy pirate and a Citrine jewel enter the picture things take some crazy, ott, fun, turns. This story had me completely captivated and once I started reading I didn't put it down until the last page. I definitely recommend this book and these amazing authors. Citrine Wishes is book one and a fantastic start to the Sisterhood of the Stones and I can't wait to read the rest of this series.
Sapphire Omens:
Sapphire Omens is book two in the Sisterhood of the Stones series and I am loving this series. In this book we get the story of the second stone of the trio of cursed stones. Delilah a former famous actress purchases a necklace at a flea market and finds out she is given the interesting power of being able to hear people's thoughts. This is a fun, captivating story with great characters, humor, drama, romance, and an ending that left me wanting book three asap.
Onyx Interruptions:
Onyx Interruptions is book three in the Sisterhood of the Stones series and it's the story of the third cursed stone. There's a lot of bad luck going on in this book but it all made it that much more entertaining. This is a captivating story with great characters, drama, humor, magic, unexpected twists, some steam, and so much more. I recommend this book, this series, and this author trio to 0everyone who loves reading great books.

OMG....So Much Cursed Fun!

What a delightful and wickedly funny set of interconnected books! I only wish there were more cursed stones so we could have more stories! Each cursed stone finds its way into the hands of people who come from a particular lineage (or have a potential partner who does). The citrine stone grants wishes, the sapphire stone allows you to read others’ minds, and the onyx stone has power over time. As this involves cursed stones and long-ago family mysteries that must be disentangled, it could have been a heavy series. Instead, the authors chose to go the hilarious route. These three books literally did have me laughing out loud, which is so rare. As someone who's been through a divorce, I can certainly relate to the heroine of the first book! The heroes, each of them, are the perfect book boyfriends in their unique, swoony ways. I'm so glad the authors bundled this into a single collection so that I could read them one after the other without even needing to pause to download the next book. If you enjoy well-written paranormal romance stories that make you laugh and root for the good guys, this series will probably charm you as much as it did me. Good fun and highly recommended.

I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.

Legends and Curses . . .

This hilariously funny cozy mystery series is about three women thrown together by cursed stones: Citrine, Sapphire, and Onyx. The legend of the stones describes a pirate and a witch who shared an undying love until something went wrong. Now Cami, Delilah, and Dr. Ember Thorn join together to solve the unanswered mystery of Renegade Remington and the love of his life, Ariyah. If they fail, they will be cursed by the stones forever. Mystery and magic together will captivate the reader as we enjoy these wonderful stories! Having all three together in one collection lets you keep reading all the way to the end!

The three books in the series are:

The stories are well written and easy to read with a intriguing and fun cast. The setting provides the perfect setup for our stories. Our heroines are wonderful and provide plenty of humor as they try to solve their various mysteries. This series focuses on pirate Renfro Renegade Remington and Ariya Thornbridge and their cursed love story. It follows the three women, Cami, Delilah and Ember who found their stones. The citrine, sapphire and onyx. It's a fun series that has some hijinks and some heat and lots of trouble of our forty-something trio. Overall, it's a great read with very sexy leading leading men to help the ladies, a few cooky side characters and a pig. Well worth the read. I volunteered to read this book via booksprout.

Three magical-but-cursed jewels from a pirate’s treasure, six unlikely fated mates find each other, the ghosts of the pirate and a powerful witch, laughs every few paragraphs, hot romances - what else could you ask for? This is the best way to read the series, complete and in sequence. I read them as individual novels, but the impact is greater when you binge on all three. I loved this funny, feel-good, romantic series written by three of my favorite authors.

I have never read anything like these 3 books. The stories were so good that I couldn't stop reading then even when a couple of my favorite series new books arrived. I needed to see how each character's story turned out and more importantly how they all came together. It was awesome and so happy I had all 3 books in one set. Loved everything about it. The main story topic of 3 stones, the vivid descriptions of each character and the romance. A must read.

This series was a lot of fun. It had clean romance with a mysterious paranormal twist. I really enjoyed each story that led to a satisfying conclusion. The first book in the series had me laughing out loud and I don't think I will ever look at a pig the same way again.

Lots of surprises

This was an interesting book. It's divided into three parts, roughly sequential, involving magical stones, love stories, and a beautiful Caribbean island. I really enjoyed it, and I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoys the genre.
