Harvest

Rate this book
Harvest, a relatable collection of poetry, explores cultivating joy and self-love while inspiring you to set your own foundation for love and abundance.

Throughout its four sections, Elodie Parthenay’s second poetry book reflects on high-vibrational love, breaking up with unhealthy relationships and reaping the rewards of growth and healing.

Delicate, raw and uplifting, Harvest is a call for joy as a practice, and self-love as a celebratory act.

A must-read for poetry lovers, anyone who’s ever felt disconnected from happiness and anyone trying to find their way back to themselves.

Recommended for lovers of Michaela Angemeer, Yrsa Daley-Ward and Morgan Harper Nichols.

Known for her raw and emotional poems, Elodie Parthenay is a storyteller based in Tiohtiá:ke (Montreal), Canada

Harvest , her second poetry book, is a call to celebrate joy and abundance after a season of effort and planting seeds.

The first, The Sun Always Knows Where to Find Me (2021), a story of heartbreak and comeback to oneself, was praised for its depth and ability to mirror readers’ feelings. Her work also appeared in Woven with Brown Thread (2021), a collection of poetry curated by Upile Chisala featuring 25 Black poets from all around the world.

Elodie studied poetry and creative writing at UCLA, where she was nominated for the Allegra Johnson Prize for Fiction for her work on an upcoming fantasy novel. A hopeless romantic and die-hard optimist, Elodie’s poetry revolves about love, loss, sisterhood and self-love, as seen and experienced by a queer woman of color.

She lives with her daughter and their fluffy rescue cat, Flerken. When she’s not creating poetry, she practices mindfulness meditation and writes about lifestyle, health, relationships and astrology for Women’s magazines.

“…the universe knew exactly what I needed
and how to wrap it to make sure I wouldn't miss the delivery.”

Thank you so much @elodiewrites for a gifted arc! I really resonated with your previous collection The Sun Always Knows Where to Find Me and I was thrilled when you sent me Harvest!

Elodie is an extremely gifted and talented writer. She deliberately weaves raw emotion through her words in such a bright and spiritual way, making you feel seen. Sometimes poetry about healing can feel so dark and heavy, but this collection does not. It is vibrating with color and warmth.

If you love poetry and are looking for something warm, enlightening, spiritual and hopeful I highly recommend picking up Harvest. It’s out today!!!🫶🏻🍊🪷

this collection took me on a journey and a half. Parthenay finds her strength in her second book of poems, and she shares that in the utmost beautiful, spiritual, and harmonious type of way. to me, each section felt like continuing on a road trip, where you're facing and reflecting on everything that made you who you are today. moving forward in life can sometimes be so difficult, but these poems will remind you that there is safety in growth - and there is safety in the adventure it takes to find healing. i just felt so much lighter after reading this, and more appreciative of being in love. not only can this author just simply write good poetry, but her words feel unique, raw, and authentic - which is something that can be hard to come by in this contemporary genre. thank you, Elodie, for sharing your truth. i feel genuinely inspired & moved by this read.

I really enjoyed this. It focused on relationships and cultivating ones self in a way that did not feel self loathing and unhealthy and terribly dark, like so many similar collections do. I would absolutely read more from this author.

I received a copy of this ebook in a Goodreads giveaway. I found these poems to be very repetitive and I think I prefer poetry that is a little less optimistic.
