Commander in Briefs #4

Interpreter: Alternate Cover

Rate this book
Kristy Marie brings all the feels in this heart wrenching, emotional journey of overcoming obstacles, and finding love in the most unexpected places.

Cryptic.
Veiled.
Enchanting.
Timaeus Lambros, with his herculean shoulders and immovable scowl, annoyed me the minute he stepped into my classroom—well, our classroom now.
The former military translator is now my broody new co-teacher—for eight long hours a day.
But I'm good. I can deal with Tim's tight smiles and patient glares for the rest of the school year.
After all, I'm a professional.
At least, I was, until Tim flashed me that half-smile.
That's where I went wrong.
That smile led to some not-so-safe-for-work activities and whispered pillow talk where I shared my dreams, and he shared his pain.
We weren't supposed to become friends.
We most definitely weren't supposed to fall in love—our pasts wouldn't allow it.
But I'd soon learn that Tim's past wasn't all that it seemed.
It was worse.

Kristy Marie is an international bestselling author who loves writing temperamental heroes who fall hard for strong and witty heroines.

She enjoys harassing her three children and husband for all the hugs and will attempt to grow anything green. She also reads all things romance and can be caught being naughty by enjoying a chapter or two before her 9 p.m. bedtime.

When Kristy's not writing broody alphas or hugging babies, you can catch her in pajamas watching baseball and yelling at the TV. Go Braves!

We all have our unicorn authors. They write books we automatically one-click without even reading the blurb. We fall in love with their heroes and heroines every single book without fail. They make us feel all the feelings and carve out a permanent place in our heart. Kristy Marie is one of those authors for me, and Interpreter is a perfect example of why.

Tim soaked panties all across the world in Gorgeous, book 2 of the Commander in Briefs series. Anybody that's read the fire pit scene in that story knows exactly what moment I'm referencing. I can't imagine anyone not being at least a little curious about his character after that. I certainly was, and that's one of the reasons Interpreter was one of my most highly anticipated reads of 2019.

Tim, a broody, broken marine, loses his hearing due to a hereditary condition inherited from his mother. He always knew it could happen, but when it finally does, Tim struggles with accepting his new reality. It gets to the point that he barely leaves the house, so at the suggestion of his therapist, he gets a job at the local school to try to help him move on and socialize with people outside of his family. That's where he meets Milah, a Costa Rican foreign language teacher in the US on a work Visa, and Oliver, a little boy destined to one day lose his hearing as well.

The emotions!!! You guys, if you don't feel your heart squeeze reading this book, I don't know if you're even alive! There are so many amazing moments in this one that made clutch my chest, and yes, I even fucking cried a time or two! I couldn't help it! The author made me feel so much for these characters. It was impossible not to!

That being said, don't expect some depressing tear jerker. There were sad tears, but even more so, there were happy ones. I also laughed my ass off throughout the book. The cast of characters in this series is epic! Literally one of my favorites in all of romance!

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Each time I read one of these books, it feels like going home. The characters feel like real people to me. I don't know what I'm going to do when this series is over. My heart will never be the same.

Beautiful. There is no other word I can use that more accurately describes this story to me. Milah and Tim have such an intense, intimate connection that you can feel it pouring off the page. The amount of heart that went into this novel can also be felt in every type of relationship portrayed in this book. Expect nothing less than all the feels!

If you're a fan of sassy female characters, broken alpha heroes, amazing humor, and a phenomenal cast of secondary characters, this one's for you!

After reading every one of Kristy Marie's books, after falling in love with each of her heroes, I was curious as to how Tim would win my heart. I swooned over his silence, I craved his music, and I thirsted after his heart. Tim caused me to cry five tears and therefore his story gets all the stars!!

Timaeus Lambros... child prodigy, double major graduate, honorably discharged soldier, and broken man. Tim had all but given up hope of ever living out his dreams. The one person he could always count on was gone. His passion, his greatest love, fell on deaf ears. Nothing was truly worth it anymore. Or was it? When his newfound family pushes him to get out of his shell, to embrace life again, he's incredibly reluctant. He puts up barriers, reinforces his walls, and holds everyone at arms length. He can't get hurt if he doesn't let you in. However, Milah cared nothing for his boundaries. She swooped in with her caring heart and compassionate soul, obliterating every obstacle he thrust in her way. Theirs was an easy love, one they fell into without even realizing it, making it even more beautiful for its simplicity.

Interpreter reads more like a romcom than anything else because it was funny and charming and sexy and deelish! Kristy Marie created a story full of elements you can't help but adore. As soon as you were consumed with one person or one part, she threw something or someone else at you to love. Tim obviously owned me in this story, but there were so many other people to gain my favor and worm their way into my heart. I cherished every moment I got to spend with little Oliver, the times I got to witness Tim's weakness when it came to his sweet niece, and the brotherhood that Anniston established when she brought these men together. I'm so excited to see each of them find their happy and I can't wait to see who wins next!

***4,25 "No matter what, I will always hear you!!!" stars***

I won't lie!!! This was my first book by Kristy Marie, but even me, i can see why Tim's story was so anticipated from the writer's fans!!!!
This story was unique, full of passion and so sweet!!!!
It was emotionally overloaded and i enjoyed it very much!!!!
Now, I'm literally kickin' my ass for not reading her stories earlier, but i will get there!!!!
And even though, i hadn't read the previous books in the series, it wasn't very hard to follow and i'm so happy for that!!!

"I never want to feel that kind of pain again. The pain of losing everything. Hope is a dangerous thing to lose."

Well, Timaeus Lampros hasn't an easy life...
He is a former soldier, a former prodigy in piano and nowdays, he is fighting with the loss of his hearing!!!! A loss that he has taken very hard...
His friends are very close to him and they are trying very hard to make him start living again...
And just like that he is finding himself to be a co-teacher in Milah Inglesias's classroom!!!

Milah is a strange person, but soooo cute!!!
She has a very big heart and she is obsessed with high heels!!!!
Her position in the school is in jeopardy and she is afraid of what the future is holding for her...
She has to find a solution soon or else her big dream will vanish into thin air!!!!
What doesn't help at all is the presence of broody, but oh so hot, Tim Lambros in her classroom!!!!

"These boys changed my heart. They gave me something to believe in..."

I loved this couple very much!!! They were having so different personalities , but they were fitting perfectly together!!!
I loved the way they were approaching each other and how they were capable of healing each other...
Tim was a very troubled man and my heart was aching for his behalf!!!
Milah had lots on her plate too, but her feisty and passionate personality was winning you over from the first moment...

I won't say much more about this book, but i loved many other people in here!!!!
I loved Oliver so much!!! He was a very sweet boy!!!
I loved Felipe and his... too much persona!!!!
I loved Ms. Pike and the way she was handling Tim...
I loved Dr. Parker who was forcing Tim all the damn time to do things that he didn't want to do...
And of course, i loved this crazy bunch in the foundation!!! That bunch that Tim was loving like real brothers and sisters!!!!

***Thanks so much for giving me this ARC.***

Beta red this baby!!!

“And what if you can’t fight it, Timaeus? What if it’s too strong to fight alone? What if I lose?”
“Then you build an army and go down with honor.”

It's been way too long since Kristy released a book. I mean it. I can't stand all this waiting. It's too hard 😭😭😭😭 but it is worth the wait. Every damn second. Cause diving into this stroy, into these characters, it's like coming home.

Now, a on a serious note. The above quote is something that not only defines this book but the whole series. It's a family. Every part of it as messed up as the next. And that's what makes this story so beautiful. This isn't a story about perfect people with a perfect family and a perfect life. This is a story about messed up people who through shear stubbornness found each other and they fit together. Their crazies match. And it's a beautiful thing to watch.

In Interpret, we get a closer look at Tim. We see how he struggles with deafness, how his world changes. How he suffers and deals with the demons both past and present. And how through love and a whole bunch of crazy banter (which is one of the trademarks of this series) he overcomes them. We get to see how a crazy high heels wearing latina fits into this tale, and most of all, we get to see love at its purest form.

There aren't enough superlatives ti describe Kristys writing. There isn't enough praise to heap. The girl can write, that's for sure. And she's one of the best there is. You'd be doing yourself a disservice if you didn't read this bad boy.

So dive into a story of love, forgiveness and redemption, the likes you've never read before. You'll cry, you'll laugh and then you'll be doing it over and over again amd loving every second of it. I know I did!

“Then at least I will know I tried. We are not handicapped because we have one less sense than others. Nothing is ever put on us that we can’t handle. If anything, we are the stronger ones. We are the fighters.”

My heart was left on the pages of Interpreter. Kristy Marie took me on a wild ride with extraordinary characters that I never want to get off of. With every book Kristy tops herself. You can never have just one favorite.

IMG-20191129-WA0024.jpg

It took me a while to finally write my review because I couldn't find the words to express how I feel and how good of a book this was. My words still won't do this book justice.

Tim Lambros is being strongly coerced by his family and doctor to take up a job so he becomes the new language co-teacher to Milah Iglesias. They do not get off on the right foot. Tim is broody and silent while Milah is a chatty and sassy. Milah does not see the point of having a co-teacher, especially with budget cuts, so she doesn't know the reason why Tim is in her class. He is so closed off and that intrigues her but although she really really really wants to peel back the layers, and his clothes, she can't because she might not be there for much longer. Getting attached is not something she can afford to do at the moment. Tim has lost his hearing so he just wants to be left alone but Milah makes it difficult. She makes him want to live again and not just survive.

I need to be completely honest here. I couldn't remember much about Tim from the previous book. (I'm sorry Kristy) The reason being is that I tended to only focus on the main characters and not really enjoy the side ones but after reading Tim and Milah's tale, I'm everything Tim. He was such a freaking alpha. Oh Lord, did he make me drool. I wanted to jump him but I couldn't be a hussy, that role was already being stolen by the saucy, little, Ms Milah Iglesias. She wanted Tim and she let us know by the constant state of her panties. Although Milah wanted to be all over Tim, it took her quite a while in the book to do that (which I absolutely loved) because I hate when characters hook up in the first couple of chapters. I live to see their build up and the ever growing sexual tension. And when the finally succumbed to their carnal desires... my kindle was on fire. Hot Damn, was that hot!!! Timaeus, you sexy beast! Milah was perfect for him. She did not take his b.s and pushed him when he needed it. Milah and Pe's banter (Milah's best friend) made me crack up on every occasion. Pe was so extra that he was a perfect fit for Theo. They are so much alike.
Oooh and let's not forget Tim in uncle mode = ovaries exploding all around the world.
He was so adorably sexy.

Interpreter has been a highly anticipated book and it was definitely everything I thought it would be and more. I devoured this book. Kristy has me hooked on her books. It's like crack to me. I constantly want more and one fix is never enough.

Interpreter was an anticipated read for me, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on Tim and Milah’s story.

I loved that we got to see all of our favourite characters again, in the guys and girls that live at the compound. I must say that my favourite character and my favourite relationship in the book was Aspen and the relationship she had with Tim. My ovaries just went BOOM!

Tim is mad at the world. He’s lost his hearing due to a hereditary condition and he doesn’t know how to deal with it. He thinks he’s putting everyone out by them having to help him and sign. The only person he lets in, is toddler Aspen who helps calm the storm within him. That is until he is forced to start a new job and meets Milah.

I absolutely adored Milah. She didn’t treat Tim any differently and when he was being out of order, she would tell him. She didn’t coddle him and I loved that.

”Let us share this moment with you.”

There are certain scenes, that I won’t spoil for you that gave me chills and made me so emotional. The way Kristy describes everything happening, transported me into the book and made me feel like I was experiencing it too.

A heartwarming, emotional read that will having you laughing your heart out, give you chills and leave you breathless.

A stunning 5 star read.

5 EMOTIONAL & OVARY EXPLODING STARS!!!
Just when you think that you can’t love this series more than you already do...the author gives us Tim! I smiled, I swooned and I balled like a baby. Tim absolutely stole my heart and exploded my ovaries when it came to his love for Aspen and Oliver!

A veteran, a musical prodigy, a man who feels like he has lost everything, finds his way through with the love of his family and a sassy little spitfire he never expected. He knew he would eventually end up completely deaf, but the reality when it happens is different. Now he needs to find a new normal. It's not an easy transition for him. But a new job, will open a whole new world for him.

She's in the country on a temporary visa. She's a sassy Latina that takes no crap. Milah teaches the fifth grade and has just been assigned a co-teacher. Now she just needs to keep things professional. Tim is going to make things as hard as possible.

The chemistry is SMOKIN' HOT! These two just sizzle when they are within touching distance. When their attraction culminates it is one of the HOTTEST scenes I have ever read. It's sexy and incredibly emotional. It's mind-blowingly emotional.

The author will tug at your heart strings more than once. This was an emotional journey filled with poignant moments that will steal your heart. Grab the tissues!

It's been days and I am still thinking of Tim and Milah. This is an all-time favorite series and it continues to be one that I look forward to. Each new story gives me more characters to love. It says a great deal about the author and the story's she creates when I can never get enough and I always come back for more.

Oh. My. Swoon. Prepare yourself, because Kristy Marie’s Interpreter delivers all the feels! I’ve loved the previous three, standalone books in the Commander in Briefs series, but this latest installment is my favorite although it is hard to choose. Tim is a former Marine, who lives in a group home for veterans who are trying to get back on their feet. They’re his family in every way except blood, and they push him to get a job teaching at a school to help pull him from the depression that he’s been dealing with since losing his hearing. He’s grumpy and a little surly, and he clashes with his co-teacher, Milah, when he first meets her. Well, they clash in the best, sexiest way possible. They have explosive chemistry, and Milah is fascinated by Tim and begins to chip away at his defenses. They develop a genuine connection, and she helps Tim come to terms with his deafness. I was captivated and deeply affected by his journey, and I was rooting for him every step of the way. Milah is his perfect match — challenging him, supporting him, and loving him when he needs it most. Interpreter is a captivating, emotional and swoon-worthy romance with so much heart, and you’ll laugh, cry, smile, blush and probably swoon.

Rec to appear on Frolic soon.

YAAAAAAASSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!
I have to tell you that I am absolutely at a loss for words because this book is a literary masterpiece as far as I am concerned. So be patient with me while I try and tell you why you should be reading this bad boy!
I had the most amazing time readied this book, from the first page I could not put it down and I'm extremely glad that I didn't have to, it meant i got to spend this entire day cuddled up and devouring this book from start to finish. There is absolutely nothing lacking in this story, there is laughing, in fact I laughed out loud several times in public, and then there was the crying, which I had chocolate to help me through. The banter in this family had my heart singing because that is what true family and love is all about. The support and love that they show each other, in their own way, had me so fulfilled and that doesn't even count the true happiness between Tim and Milah. These two could not be more opposite and yet completely the same had they tried. I think for me, this story covers the epitome of what true love is, wether that be the love of a man/woman or the love you have for a brother or child, Kristy really showed us how to value it all. The reason this book was such a success for me is that yes, there was some crazy amazing banter, and the sexy times were beyond awesome but the story, of love, true and pure love and how family is truly what you make it is what set my soul on fire.
I can't wait to see what Kristy has in store for us next from The Compound!!
This is my honest and unbiased review.

5 OOOORAH Stars

My book buddy said I don't need to give this one a review and she is right, I don't as the words speak for themselves.

This book made my face do a Heilin' fling, my eyes lifted, my mouth curved, I smiled, I burst out laughing and I bawled like a baby. It had so much emotion but so much power behind the words and message.

Like Timaeus, I suffer from genetic hearing issues and I loved that Kristy Marie told his story (and his Mother's) and how this should not hold anyone back. It doesn't and it won't. It must have been quite a challenge as an author to bring this story to life but she did.

So many feels, it was heart-wrenching at times but I loved reading the emotional journey of Tim and Milah and the love they found in the most unexpected places.

A really incredible heartfelt read for me. I hope there is more from this crew.

Great couple

I absolutely loved Milah in this one. Not that there was anything wrong with Tim, but Milah was hilarious. Her inner thoughts just cracked me up. This was a little too slow for me. It took forever for these two to get together and then it felt rushed. Tim had a lot of baggage to deal with and this bogged the story down a bit. He was way too hard on himself. Tim was such a sexy guy and the author could have heated it up a lot more. Nevertheless an enjoyable read.

This book was sent to me as a member of the blog tour for an honest review.

After reading all of the other stand alone books in the Commander in Briefs series, I jumped at the chance to read and review the next installment, and as usual I was not disappointed or let down by Kristy Marie.
This book is about Tim and Milah and their live story. This book is so funny in places yet so touching and heartbreaking in others too.
Tim has stolen my heart! Which has happened with every one of the men in this series!
This book is very much like a rom-com in its style.
Seriously, if you've not read this series you really need to!
This is one of my favourites in the series so far and I can't wait to read the next book when it comes out.

Please buckle your seat belt, Mr. Lambros is one crazy ride.

I can't describe this book better than the quote above does. Every time I finished a book in this series, I think it can't get any better than this. And then comes the next book and knocks me off my feet instantly. Interpreter is, hands down, the most emotional book in this series and I couldn't get enough of Tim and Milah.

Always be brave. Especially when you're scared.

Tim is such a beautiful soul, you want to hug and cuddle him all the time. Not to mention what his hotness might do to your female parts. He's sexy inside out and I don't blame Milah for falling for him.

Milah is Tim's perfect match in any way. She's the fuel to ignite his fire to its full potential. She's such a caring soul, putting others always first before her own needs.

Milah's and Tim's chemistry is off the charts and their story will break your heart in more ways than one.

"I feel you here," he whispers, placing my hand on his heart.

I didn't think Kristy Marie could ever write a story that would make me fall in love with someone more than she made me fall in love with Major Cade Jameson.

I think she just did with Interpreter and I'm not sure if I'm okay!

I absolutely LOVE these Marines and their ladies and Theo and his Commander!

This story is beautiful, touching, feisty, funny, emotional, steamy, and everything else in between! Tim and Milah are EVERYTHING! This story is EVERYTHING!

Thank God Kristy Marie gave us Theo! He keeps it entertaining and makes us laugh right when we need it the most!

As I got further along I started taking my time reading. Not because I was losing interest but because I didn't want it to end. That's the worst part of the book - when it's over!

Everytime I read a CIB novel, it's as if I'm home. Kristy Marie has this way of making the reader feel like they are part of this group. It's not like I'm watching everything unfold from the sidelines, I feel like I'm right there with them in the mix.

If you don't know who Kristy Marie is, you SERIOUSLY need to go and read her Commander in Briefs series. Start with Pitcher and just keep reading. (Thank me later!)

Every book in this series keeps getting better and better! Interpreter is book four but if you've read the series from the beginning, then you've already met Tim. There are so many amazing characters in this series. I'll be honest, while I loved all the books, so far Interpreter is my favorite. Tim has had my attention for a long time and I was so impatient for his story. I'm also eager for Vic's story too.
Kristy Marie has an incredible talent when it comes to putting pen to paper. Her books are angsty, emotional, sexy, and humorous. I truly appreciate the humor in her books because the premises are dark and even sad. Her balance of all the emotions is perfect. The attention to detail and the research that went into this book was so appreciated. I was heartbroken at times. Tim was such an intense hero. He had been through so much and his story is downright heart-rending and distressful. Tim is a strong-minded man. Also, stubborn. When he meets Milah, Tim slowly realizes that he is missing out on life by hiding away.

Milah, was the perfect heroine for Tim. She was beautiful inside and out. She instinctually knew what Tim needed and when. Rarely do you read about a heroine so attuned to her hero. They were soul-mates. Perfect together in every way.

I am so glad I got a front row seat to Tim's happily-ever-after. It was so worth the agonizing wait! This is a series I highly recommend. Yes, Interpreter can be read as standalone but because of all the interaction with secondary characters, you'll be eager for their stories. I promise you won't be disappointed!

I’m sorry for not giving more details about the premise of this book but I feel you would appreciate reading all this perfection on your own.

This is my honest and unbiased review. Thank you for taking the time to read it.

✨ DENISE’S DREAMY REVIEW ✨

You know when you pick up a book and just feel like you’ve come home because you love and have dearly missed ALL of the characters?!

This book, this series, and this author does that for me!!

Kristy Marie continuously blows me away book after book in her Commander in Briefs series and I. CANNOT. EVER. GET. ENOUGH.

Everything about Interpreter just made me FALL. IN. LOVE. EVEN. MORE. with all of Kristy’s men, especially Tim, because OH MY GAH. Can I just say he (ALMOST) gave Cade a run for his money? 🙈🙊

But Tim, oh Tim! My heartbreaking, broody man who made my heart soar! I’ve been waiting for his story and GAH, I just fell soooo in love with him! Right from the start!

And my girl, Milah! So sassy, hilarious, and everything I love in a heroine!

And sweet little Oliver, GAH! He just stole my heart by being him! I couldn’t get enough!

YOU. NEED. THIS. BOOK. IN. YOUR. LIFE.

More than anything, Kristy Marie pulls you in because the way she weaves a story is absolutely breathtaking! She brings her characters together and even though the main focus was Tim and Milah for this book, she was able to bring the rest of the characters to life and be part of their journey! I adored and cherished every single word!

**BETA read** I have never laughed so much, yet be emotionally pulled in with all the feels!! Interpreter is hot, spicy, heart warming, emotional overload. I can't wait for y'all to read about Timaeus and Milah! It's good to be back with the crew in CiB!!❤️

*FULL REVIEW!!*

Interpreter is part of Kristy’s, Commandeer in Briefs series, about Timaeus Lambros. I didn’t fully understand how addicting, emotional, love bubble absorbing, and fulfilling Tim’s story was going to be.
Kristy writes with such force that you are emotionally driven while reading. These emotions can range from all out comedy, drowning in tears or an overall feeling of satisfaction. It is hot, spicy, and heartwarming. Interpreter hits on all these points and then some.
When reading any book from the CIB series, you just get this feeling like you are returning home. The boys and girls are written so that you feel that you are part of this wonderfully inclusive club, where no one is biologically related, but every single one of these characters is your brother or sister. Tim is no exception.

Timaeus is one of the Marine veterans that Anniston had picked up in Commandeer in Briefs. He has always been somewhat reserved and in Interpreter, we find out why. When Tim is going through an upheaval in every aspect of his life, his ‘family’ is there for him, including Aspen (who is ABSOLUTELY adorable throughout this book). Aspen is the one thing to help Tim begin to accept what is going on in his life. With the rest of his family, he begins to step out into the real world again and it is through this that he meets Milah.

Milah is a delight. She is feisty, driven, adorable, quirky, and in a bind. MIlah is completely lovable with all her idiosyncrasies. She is family oriented, has a certain affinity to a little boy named Oliver, and a deeper appreciation for the hearing impaired and ASL speaking community. Through all her Costa Rican feistiness, she is truly a teddy bear inside, albeit a feisty teddy bear.

I’ve already alluded to some secondary characters in this book but haven’t touched on all of them. Milah’s best friend, Felipe, is a character. He is there to help her, whether that be with fashion tips, men, or reality checks. I think everyone should have a friend like Felipe! The boys of the foundation, along with their significant others are hysterical. They bring so much comedy, it’s nice to revisit with them and their usual banter.

Kristy brought her all when she wrote Interpreter. Interpreter is without a doubt, hands down my favorite book. I still love Cade and his story, Gorgeous, but Tim is magical. She has totally hit it out of the park with Interpreter. I fully believe that this is her best book yet. You will be in for a treat!!

Interpreter is an incredible and heartfelt read! Kristy Marie delivers an emotional book filled with laugh-out-loud moments, all the angst from a broody hero, witty banter, and so much sass from a strong Latina heroine!

I absolutely devoured this book! Interpreter was my first Kristy Marie read - I know I'm so disappointed in myself right now, and I was blown away by what I've been missing! I was literally trying but failing to conceal my laughter with this one. The fact that Kristy Marie can fit all that humor in with heart-wrenching angst, and still have a plot that flow,s speaks to the caliber of the writing. In addition to the humor and emotion, Interpreter is also extra swoony and incredibly sexy. Main and side characters were well developed, and although part of a series, it was easily read and understood as a standalone.

If you're looking for an angsty and emotional read, filled heart, humor, and heat, Interpreter by Kristy Marie is absolutely the book for you!

I love this series and the characters so much.
Tim is one of the kind man that has to accept or change his life in better but as always, it’s a long and hard process to get there.
Milan is sweet and caring and wears killer stilettos in the most awkward situations.
Together they are fire and prove that love doesn’t have limits.

Holly sh*t! 😱 I thought Theo was my favorite character from all the Commander books, but no, Tim is my new bookboyfriend forever.
He's not only handsome 🔥 but also intelligent and funny. Despite all the tragedies that happened in his life, he fight to stay sane and alive.
Milah is a beautiful and badass women that knows what she wants. She is beautiful, smart and...crazy 😂. She has a  hilarious humor and a heart of gold. She is feisty and has zero patience. Ask Tim, she couldn't follow instructions if her life depended on it.
You just have to love them. They are so perfect together 😍
Kristy has done it again. She has ones again create a story that made me cry like a baby and laugh aloud, even when I was on the train and everyone looked at me like I'm a lunatic 😂😂😂
I love Tim and Milah. They are hilarious and the intern monologues that they seems always to have let you cry from laughing. Their deep connection is so damn beautiful and their story lets you cry like a baby. Don't think this story is only funny and steamy, it's definitely is, but that's not the point 😉. Like all Kristy's books this story has a very serious topics and one of them is deafness. This book lets you think about this terrible disease in a complete other dimensions.
I don't know how to describe this book without spoiling it, but it's definitely a must read for all romantics with HEA lovers.
If you didn't read Kristy's books before, you should read the other books in the series too.
They are all unbelievable emotional and heartbreaking, but also hilariously funny.
You would also understand the dynamic of the group better.

"I let Tim’s intent gaze fluster me. He made me feel exposed when I was fully clothed. And when his eyes tracked my lips, watching, reading every movement…. Gretchen just thinks men with babies make the best porn. They don’t. Men who lip-read, who rely on reading your body to communicate, now that’s porn."

That quote from the book right there should be enough to get you to read this book! Gah. I loved it so much. I loved Tim's passion and Milah's sassiness. Add in the camaraderie of the group and I had tears in my eyes at one powerful moment that proves family is who is there by your side, not who shares your DNA. This entire series is amazing and I can't wait to read more of Kristy Marie's books!

I can't even believe it's been a year since I first met Tim in "Gorgeous" and claimed him for myself.
That infamous scene y'all... wink-wink.
Oh, we have so many of those here and they take on a whole different meaning and depth - aside from being hot as all f-ck, obviously.
I've waited and Kristy Marie did not disappoint. Ah, as if that's even a thing that would happen.
Sure enough, she delivered and gifted us with yet another beautiful, heartfelt storyline that will give you all the feels.

If by any chance you've read one of my reviews before, you probably know that I tend to focus more on the feelings, emotions and thoughts conjured by the book than indeed about the characters or the plot.
This case is no different. If anything, this is the one that'll likely clue you in on why that is. Every single release in this series has been highly anticipated and gushed over once it actually lands on my kindle: every time, it's like coming home. I officially want to move to Madison, Georgia.
These characters have become such a big and important part of my reading life that I struggle to imagine how I'm going to cope when all these stories are finally told.

All of the ones published so far have a special place in my heart and there's no such thing as "my favorite": just like a mother, I love them all equally - with all of their singularities.
Theo and Anniston have a relationship that's anything but conventional, a story anything but plain and I freaking love them hardcore for it.
Cade and Breck... there's no way they weren't born destined to be eachother's soulmates; that kind of bond is otherworldly.
Hayes and Bianca taught us that you don't have to be the poster child for whatever "perfect" is supposed to be - you just need to be your best, and everything will fall into place. Maybe sacrifices or choices are required, but what's that compare with what you can have? You'd probably willingly make them, just like Bianca did.

Tim and Milah are living proof that, no matter how many situations seem unsolvable and unfair, no matter how bad life seems to wanna take you down, you can always choose to stand tall and fight for what you want, face your fears.

By the way, I don't know if you're reading this review and considering taking a chance on "Interpreter", but I'd highly recomend all the previous books as well. You can obviously skip them as this is a standalone and there's no need for knowledge of previous events, but you won't regret a single second if you give them a try.

So far, Tim's story as been the most anticipated one - due to mainly (but not only) - a very specific scene in "Gorgeous" that caught everyone's attention and kept us all in the edge of our seats.
Well, like I said in the beginning of this review, that scene can now be looked at as being both a sexy demonstration of power - kinky! - or a simple yet beautiful and intimate gesture, a display of a deeper connection.

Kristy Marie is a true rockstar and the little details like these are the reason why her stories are felt so deeply. She has a way of, so effortlessly, breaking you heart and mending it in the same exact paragraph.
How?!
I honestly need to get emotionally ready for each new release because I just know some beautiful yet profound and compelling plot is coming my way.

Oh my God, and Aspen?! What the hell are you trying to do to me? Ovaries non-existent at this point. Geez.
I can't to see her grow up surrounded by overprotective uncles.

I mentioned Tim's story being highly anticipated by me and now that it's here please don't mind if I do, I'll just leave this here: Kristy, we've talked about this and I got even more anxious and excited so I'll reinforce that, my next hugely awaited character to get their happily-ever-after... Mr. Kane Kurtzman. I mean... I told you, is growing on me. I swear, your jerks are so freaking appealing.
And Mason? Talk about mystery man!!!

I think I'm gonna leave it here since you're probably bored and tired of me at this point, so I'll be going.

TL.DR: definitely give this story a chance and I know you won't regret it. Grab the tissues. Oh, and maybe some extra underwear might be handy, just on case. It's my Tim we're talking about here after all.

Once again Kristy, you're f--king amazing.
That is all.

With each book in the Commander in Briefs series it just gets better and better. Interpreter, the fourth book which is Tim’s story definitely brought the emotions and left a lasting impression on my heart. And that heart is scattered within the pages of this book. I’ve been anticipating and wanting his story, and as much as I’ve loved all the previous books, I’m not lying when I say it’s hard to choose a favorite, but this book and Tim ultimately became my favorite.

Tim is a former Marine who lives in a group home for veterans who are trying to get back on their feet. He’s recently lost his hearing and is suffering with depression. He’s mad at the world and doesn’t know how to deal with his recent hearing loss. He’s grumpy and he keeps to himself not wanting to let others in and have them make changes to their lives in order to help him. But with a little push, and the help from the men he considers his brother’s, they help him get a job and that’s where he meets Milah and it’s also the precise time his life starts changing.

Milah was an amazing heroine. She’s feisty, compassionate, considerate, sassy and funny. I adored her so much and loved how she didn’t treat Tim differently. She gave as good as Tim did and didn’t waver in the least.

Milah and Tim clashed right from the start when they first met, but in a good way. There was no denying their explosive chemistry. They develop a genuine connection, and Milah helps Tim come to terms with his deafness. Tim’s journey tugged at my heartstrings and I was rooting so hard for him. Milah without a doubt was Tim’s perfect match, she supported him and challenged him, and most of all loved him when he needed it the most.

Interpreter is a heartwarming, captivating and emotional romance. You’ll smile, laugh, cry, swoon, and most definitely fan yourself. It’s filled with so much heart that it’ll leave you feeling all the feels. I love this book. I love Tim and Milah. I especially love the kids, Aspen and Oliver. And of course, I love this brotherhood and their women who make up this amazing crew. Kristy has done it yet again, just phenomenal.

Definitely Recommend

Another great book from Kristy! I am completely in love with these characters from this series. Not only Tim and Milah, but ALL of them. Theo and Anniston. Cade and Breck. Hayes and Bianca. Aspen. Vic. Mason. Felipe!! Kristy has this indescribable talent of making you fall in love with this whole tribe of family.

Interpreter was such a passionate, flawless story. As we all know, Tim lives with a hearing impairment that is slowly taking the ability to hear away from him. What we also know, is Kristy doesn’t give us perfectly, pressed characters. They aren’t flawless. They have pasts that aren’t pretty. Tim is no different. He has to find a way to push through this difficult time, but he’s not sure if he can.

Until Milah. Oh my goodness. I LOVE MILAH. She is everything we think about when we picture a Latina woman. Feisty. Fiery. Beautiful.. and a bit psychotic. (Nothing against Latinas, you know it’s true.) She. Is. Perfect. I LOVE her back and forth with Tim. The banter they throw at each other is what I love for in a book. Tim is a sassy asshole, but Milah doesn’t that that fly. She gives back as good as she gets.

This story had so many factors that were brought together that made me fall completely in love with these characters all over again. Kristy always slays with her story and Interpreter is no different. I have complete trust in her when it comes to her writing. No matter what she gives us, it is powerful, passionate, and incredible.

I know Kristy struggled a bit with this story because Tim and Milah weren’t speaking to her, but I am so glad she took some time to get their story right. I never want an author to rush for a release and not give us the flawless story they know we want. This story is everything I need and so much more!

Beta Read this Perfection!!!

I've waited for Milah and Tim for a long time, and it was worth every second!!

This story brings Milah a Costa Rican immigrant who is looking to fulfill her family's dreams and find her own path in the process.
Tim a Marine who has just discovered that he is becoming totally deaf and has to fight with it and with the ghosts of his past.
None of them have time or energy to fall in love, but fate is always ready to take action, because they are two people with real problems like not first world problems, but real ones, that in between all that shit, they find this attraction that is an oasis.

Kristy knew how to represent both sides of the coin. A girl who has nothing and everything to lose and a boy who has everything and is losing it out of fear. When they meet they complement each other, and from that they open the way for more people who need them.

As always the secondary characters were perfection. Felipe is my new imaginary best friend, Oliver is beautiful and the guys in the Foundation are always the best and now with the girls and babies they are swoon worthy.

This book made me laugh, cry and feel that beautiful and satisfying heat that remains after reading a good book.

Finally I want to thank Kristy once again for taking the time to meet and write about a different culture than her own. For trying to represent Milah as well as possible, as a Costa Rican woman, immigrant, one of the thousands that exist in the United States from different countries, who wanted to find a better future for herself and her family and found love along the way.

Latin power baby!

Tim & Milah!

Humor in well-placed moments, heartbreak in others. I had smiles and frowns while reading.

Milah is a hoot. She’s definitely got sass and a crazy way of looking at life. Tim may be angry but his heart is huge and his lack of belief in himself was heartbreaking. Between the two there is so much love and compassion with intense intimate moments. And I really loved Tim’s journey. It wasn’t easy but the change was breathtaking.

The characters are flawed with obstacles to get to that HEA. Plus there are fantastic and fundamental side characters in Ms. Peak, Oliver, Pe and the crew. It’s a great group of characters. They are, no doubt, a family. And fingers crossed we’ll get more of them.

5 STARS!!!!

Let me tell you guys, this story it's so heartbreaking yet so beautiful and special. I've been waiting for it since I finished Drifter..Tim, he's such a kind soul and a beautiful character.
The book is amazing, I mean, I knew and I totally expected this but it was way more than that, I'm speechless! We not only learn more about him but everything he's going through and the difficulties of his inability to hear and what he feels, that broke my heart in a thousand pieces, and then she appears, Milah, ugh, this girl just like every other female heroine on Kristy's book, she's wild, sassy, humble and most of all selfless, she couldn't have developed a better character than this one..I love her from the very first moment, besides she's Latina, just like me..and let me tell you it isn't common that an author talks about a character like this in such a perfect way, she totally nailed it with her, the vocabulary, the expressions, her best friend, I mean Felipe was everything and more and most of all she managed to show us that warm and friendly welcome Latinos have.
The kids!!! I'm still swooning over them, they just melt my heart with every word and show of affection with Tim.
The whole group, Theo, Ans, Cade, and everyone! I just can't get enough of them and this is why they would always have a special place in my heart. The warmth, protection, and loyalty they show towards another.
This is why this book is a five-star read, and I would definitely give it more if I could.
