Didn’t really expect to get so emotionally attached to these characters so quickly, but I’m hooked. I think spending this much time focused on Kelsey becoming Queen and her rise is a great foundation for the series. The historical element of the entire book hoooooked me I loved it so much. Will definitely keep reading the rest of the series.

The writing and intrigue and the complexities of the characters has you devouring this book. After having just finished a book that was an absolute sludge to get through this was a delightful pivot. The writing, characters and story are compelling and the author unveils just enough to keep readers guessing without giving away too much.
