The latest awesome choice in Charlie’s Let all her friends die, or marry the man planning to kill them.

Charlie’s friends have been beaten, starved, and accused of treason. And thanks to her uncle’s watchful control, she’s been cut off from any underworld connections that could help. But if Charlie claims her birthright and marries the Prime’s son, she might be able to save them — and lose herself.

She’s practically royalty, but that doesn’t mean she’s noble.

There’s a reason she ran three years ago.

The Prime has plans for her. Plans that might be worse than watching her friends die.

A gripping teen dystopian world for fans of Shatter Me and The Handmaid’s Tale.

So, I enjoyed the first book. It’s an interesting world, and the story held my interest for sure. But I cannot get over how self absorbed and immature the main character is. I can understand this in the first book, but now she needs to grow the eff up and think about someone other than herself. Luke is a bad person, and of course everyone else around her is in survival or power-grab mode. There doesn’t need to be a love interest, but if Luke is supposed to be that in this series, just yuck. She is not in any way a player, even though it seems like she should have the skills to play the game and make lives better. I’m disappointed and will not be continuing this series.

Charlie is back and in this one must make some choices with huge consequences. I enjoyed returning to this crazy city and its wild ways. It drew me in as I had to see what Charlie would do and what would unfold next. Lots of action, danger, surprises, and I found it both inventive and entertaining. And enjoyed learning more about what was going on and enjoyed the twists and surprises along the way .

We find ourselves back In this gripping teen dystopian world and back with Charlie who has a choice to make and boy what a choice it is! The author does an incredible job drawing you in as we see Charlie face her struggles in this action packed and danger filled read. Exciting, captivating and brimming with more twists and turns to keep you spinning, this is a great second book and I can’t wait for the next one.

Control of a dictator

Wow, that was a horrifying life of control by a terrible dictator. It made my stomach churn in the evil lurking at every turn. The book ended in another cliffhanger which I hate. I should have checked it see if all the books were published before starting. Darn!

a Good Dystopian Read

Not too heavy on the romance, but great on both dystopian and futuristic technology details. I really enjoy it. I can picture what the author writes about, and I find myself invested in the character's hopes and despairs in equal measure. Cant't wait to read the next one!

Fun action and danger! Entertaining 2nd book! Really enjoy the dystopian setting. Charlie has to make sacrifices to hopefully save those she cares for, but even then, the sacrifices might not make much difference. Enjoy her survivor mentality. Looking forward to more!
