For one night—that was what Amina kept telling herself after her first encounter with Pierre.
After landing a position as a junior illustrator, Amina moves to Jacksonville, FL. With a new job in a new city, Amina has enough on her plate. Adding a stranger who was supposed to be a one-night stand is out of the question.
Except… Pierre has every intention of making Amina his. But can one night lead to forever?
amina, the female main character in this book is INSUFFERABLE. i truly don’t understand what pierre saw in her. she was dull, boring and just plain annoying. pierre is literally pouring into her trying to build something with her and she’s like “i can’t.” “i’m scared” “i gotta go” like GIRL YOU ARE GROWN. use your words and stop acting like a scared kitten.
then when pierre finally gets tired of her wishy washy behavior and walks away, amina had the nerve to tell her best friend “he walked away from and left me crying” 🥴 why did he leave you on the sidewalk crying, amina?! because you playing games and he got tired.
i don’t even know how pierre fell in love with her. they had sex one time and he’s like “this is my forever!” likeeeeee is it your forever or a great piece of ass? absolute foolishness.
Who would have thought a one night of pleasure would be the start of forever for this couple. Now, I must say, Amina had the most annoying personality, always seconds guessing and the self doubt thingy that nearly drove me crazy. Pierre was far too patient for this lady. I am happy they worked through her doubting and always running away from her true feelings. I liked and enjoyed this story -I wish there was more storyline about the happy times than the reticence.
I really enjoyed this story. Amina was scared and almost let fear rule her but she finally decided to put fear aside and let Pierre love her fully. Pierre knew exactly what he wanted and he was very intentional with Amina and I loved that. Amina was a little annoying with letting her fear rule, but she was relatable because fear can keep us from doing things we know we are meant to do and sometimes you need that push and tough love from a friend or family member like Amina had with Carmen. I highly recommend this cute and sweet read.
I think it's always funny when a 1 night stand turns into more. Amina got some penis one time and was hooked. She kept telling herself she didn't need or want Pierre, but her kitty said otherwise. She tried her hardest to deny what she really wanted but her body said otherwise. She needed more than just that 1 night with Pierre. She needed him for her mind and soul. Loved this story and this author
So I definitely like a happy ending but……… I think Pierre deserved better . Amina was a red flag that Pierre should have ran from. Amina literally played with feelings even though she said she was in love with him. Now Pierre was amazing with how supportive and was willing to proceed at Amina’s pace.
Who would have thought a one night stand would lead to love... Pierre and Amina when she spilled her drink on him would lead to this. I loved how he broke it down to her but being afraid caused problems but I loved how would not chase her and she had to figure it out for them to make it and she did.
Well hats off to the ever annoying Amina for making this book so irritating and cringeworthy! We often think most of the times women are the prize when in some cases it’s the man. Amina didn’t deserve Pierre she was annoying for no reason other than to irritate the readers. Bye
This book was good. Amina got on my nerves sometimes. Pierre just wanted to love her. I hated how she was unsure of them. Glad she finally realized this man wanted all of her.
Pierre and Amina were so beautiful together! A love story that I'm glad I got the chance to read and know... I was so happy that Amina came around and gave Pierre that love her wanted from her and the love they both deserved. So romantic...
Women looking for a good man and Amina gets one but she’s running hot and cold with this gift called Pierre! Doggone it! I was sick of Amina! Why are you having these challenges when he is perfect for you???? Ugh!!
I love LOVE! Insta-love is so romantic, this one had my nerves bad. Amina made it hard for no reason. Pierre was a dream and didn't deserve the strain she put him under. Overall it is a Nice easy read.
When hurt leads you right into the arms (and bed) of your forever person. Amina and Pierre experience an attraction that neither is expecting but we know that fear can be the hater. Amina was quite irritating for parts of this book but she got her sh*t together in the end.
This is the first adult romance book I’ve read by a Haitian author, and I loved seeing my culture represented in this book. I liked the plot of the book and was interested in Amina and Pierre’s journey. I thought they had good chemistry and banter. I liked that they built a friendship in the middle of their situation-ship. Amina annoyed me throughout the book. Pierre was very clear and active in showing how much he was feeling Amina. But she kept him at arm’s length and she was saying and doing two different things — I just wanted to shake some sense into her. But Pierre ain’t innocent either. Communication would’ve fixed everything for these two, especially at their big age.
I wasn’t in love with the writing and pacing of the story or really engaged in the story, but I did like how it ended; it was romantic. I’ll give this author another try.
