4.5⭐️ Eeeek Dax and Rori’s story is finally here! I had been (im)patiently waiting since I finished Prisoner. They were already a couple in book one, so I was very intrigued to find out how they met and how their relationship progressed. My excitement for them was through the roof and they did not disappoint. A strangers to lovers, dark mafia romance with a possessive hero and resilient heroine? Say no more.
Nephew of one of the most notorious mafia leaders, Dax had known cruelty and danger growing up in the First District. When his family disappeared, his sole purpose was to get them back. At all costs. However, his attention was diverted once he laid eyes on the silver-haired beauty.
Rori managed to escape the clutches of her abusive foster family. Until she crossed paths with Dax, she was on the run living in the streets for two years. She finally found some normality and the last thing she expected was to be on Carlo’s radar. He knew where she came from and took advantage of that information. In exchange for shelter and safety, she was asked to distract Dax from finding his cousin.
Els created a tale of soulmates, secrets and heart-wrenching love. Rori’s journey was laden with heartache, betrayal and manipulation. Vulnerable at times, but definitely resilient and intelligent. She came a long way from being a timid birdie to a feisty swan. Dax played a huge role in her growth, helped rebuild her confidence and teach her self-defence. He was protective, kind and understanding.
While they hit it off from the start, I loved how he gave her time and space to come to her own. Their emotional and physical connection were incredible. Of course, this book was packed with super spicy scenes. Overall, I highly recommend Saviour. It was amazing, devastating, heartbreaking and beautiful all at once. The cliffhanger at the end of the book skyrocketed my expectation for book three.
