Because failure is not an option for Daisy, the Angel of Mercy and Death Counselor. In a parallel plane created by a disgusting mullet headed, crotch grabbing, magic stealing, beer bellied, half winged sharp toothed, small tailed ugly being Nephilum-dragon-wannabe named Mickie Muggles are some of Daisy’s family trapped and quickly dying if she doesn’t hurry to save them. But she’s got loyal friends and family with all the power in the universe on her side.
“‘Let me get this straight,’ I said, pacing the kitchen to keep my thoughts in order. ‘Dimple creates bad luck. Jolly Sue makes people act on their worst impulses and Lura Belle makes people see the worst in themselves?’”
Dimple, Jolly Sue, and Lura Belle are a trio on Daisy’s side and they will use their “gifts” to take down the dragon. In fact, they’ll take a page from Candy’s book and eat the enemy, if necessary.
This book had a great ending that is actually not an ending, because we are left needing more, but at least Daisy’s friends and family are safe for the moment… well, most of them. There are actually a few very important people unaccounted for and Daisy will tear through Heaven and hell to find them and bring them back home. Next time Daisy isn’t holding back. The dragon will pay.
Next is book 11 “A Leaner Meaner Midlife”, but we have to wait until next year, March 18, 2024 to find out how Daisy wins again.
Robyn, you are a genius writer. It was difficult for me to put this book down. It wasn’t until 4:30am and 48% through the read that I finally forced myself to go to bed. I stayed awake the second night until 7:30am to finish. I had to know what happened!
Since the next book in this Midlife series hasn’t been released yet, I am going to read a book by JB Lynn that was released only a couple of weeks ago on November 9th - “The Hitwoman and the Flash Mob”.
