The Wolves of the Northwoods have never taken threats lightly, and they’re not about to now that Sage is being threatened. They have a healer to save, and a new threat to destroy. Sage is about to learn that her place is beside her mate in the Northwoods Pack.
**If you like paranormal romance with fated mates, protective males, and strong females, this series is for you. This is a clean romance series. Each book in the series is full-length (90,000+ words), and features a different couple. Each book can be read as a stand-alone but is best enjoyed as part of the series.
A. J. Manney lives outside of Philadelphia with her husband and four kids. Some of her favorite things to do include reading, family days, being a pastor's wife, and watching football on Sunday afternoons with her family
"The Healer" is a much better read than the previous book. It put the series back on track for me. However, the storylines are becoming pretty formulaic. I'm not interested in reading a bunch of books with basically the same plot in each of them. I will say this though, the plot is starting to build to an epic showdown between the vampires and the wolves and I definitely want to read about that.
"The Healer" is Talya's best friend, Sage's story. After being captured by vamps, Sage loses her memory. While Talya and her husband are on their honeymoon, she decides that she wants to get an apartment and a job. Paul, the pack doctor knows that Sage is his mate he just doesn't know the best way to win her over. Just like the other males in this series, they overcompensate to the point of stalking their intended mates. However, Sage impresses Paul further when she heals one of his patients who is struggling.
The vampires now have Sage on their radar and what does she do? Just like the other women in this series she walks right into their hands thinking she is protecting her friends. It always ends up making the situation worse. Emma is pregnant and Sage wants to make sure that she can help ensure Emma has a safe delivery. Before that can happen, the vamps kidnap Sage and inject her with some sort of serum.
There is a lot going on in this read. Most of it was quite entertaining. I am actually looking forward to reading the next book in the series because I believe that it will take us closer to the epic battle that is destined to come. Hopefully, the plot won't be so predictable this time.
Book three kept me overall interested, but some sections dragged and the plot holes were annoying. There needs to be more explanation of the gestational length of a non-human pregnancy. If the MF is called by her first name through most of the book then suddenly calling her by her first and middle name does not make sense. In one section things moved quickly plot wise but then a random scene was referenced that had no time to take place because an explanation was needed for why the MF gained a skill she suddenly needed. Multiple females who could all do the same thing suddenly show up just in the nick of time when previously there was only the MF and one other female who had the same power. There is a theme with all three of the first books where the MF is terrible at making decisions and lashes out because of her trama at the people who consistently show her kindness. This novel had the added layer of panic attacks that made her constantly want to run away and they just did not make a lot of sense and were not mentioned in the second novel where her character first appears. So good ideas when it comes to world building and overall story line, but needs a lot of work on character personality and story details.
Sage is little miss independent. Not be choice, by making. Her parents abandoned her and showed no love. More so than Emma or Talya ever thought they were independent. Paul has the patience of a saint. Until he doesn't. Then he be deadly. Sage had the memory loss from her kidnapping. Until she had an unwanted visitor awakens her memories. Then she went dumb, because independence can be detrimental when you can't ask for or receive help. This led to another kidnapping. Which leads to her and Paul almost killing each other. It was accidental of course. Along the way she saved some mom and babies during delivery. Saved another healer. No big deal. All in a days work.
Fewer mistakes in this book, so thumbs up. Is the Master Vampire different than the creator? Not really clear. Did Alec die? He was absent in this book. Not missed mind you, just noticeable. First rule of fight club, don't talk about fight club. Nobody said anything about dreaming or visions. So, all's fair in love and war.
It's vampires and werewolves, but with a new lore spin to it. But more importantly, the characters were the stars of these books. Especially the women, who have gone through rough times, and some very bad situations. The wolves may be the "heroes", but the woman don't just sit back and let them do everything. They stand on their own two feet, and grow their strength chapter by chapter.
The men of the pack also have their difficulties and hurdles to overcome, and together, they help each other overcome obstacles and problems.
I'll have to admit though, there were a couple of times I rolled my eyes.. when the man spews out a large paragraph of devotion, adoration, and promises. A wee bit too much, I've never heard a guy say so much all at once. Can't help thinking if I did, I'd think he was trying to hard, and being over the top. BUT... that's my only grief, I still highly recommend the books :)
Compared to other books in the series solid 4 stars bc the book felt more developed and interesting and I liked that it was longer so we got a more full story. Books in general it’s just a solid 3 bc it was enjoyable but the writing could use a bit of work. I loved Paul and Sage. They’re seriously my favorite. I don’t understand why they didn’t ask the other healers before she was on death’s door but whatever. It’s cute she’s pregnant and they’ll have a kid bc that’s all she’s wanted and I actually believe their romance bc they were friends first and it was gradual. Hopefully Madison and Talya will have kids soon too. Also I’m excited for the next book since that’s the one I had originally wanted to read until I saw it was an interconnected plot.

I am in awe of this story and Sage!! Her book had so much details that I was curious about. She was definitely the one that made me curious how she was going to fit in when she was introduced in book two. I love how she turned out to be a Healer and Doc was her mate!! I love them together and the fact that they make this dynamic duo saving lives together!!! I am glad that the whole thing with the vamps are coming to and end in the next book. I’m getting real tired of them.
I will say this it’s good that you get the finder and the dreamer in the stories but I will say it would be nice to have them a little more present.
4.5 stars ⭐️. Enjoyed this just as much as the previous ones. They are all slightly different but the same. I love Paul 💕. His calm and steady presence is magic. To see him get all wolf crazy was great. There were some moments of angst that were heart stopping. There were also some areas that dragged. Some that were like huh??? Why the return to the homeless shelter 🤷♀️. It could’ve not been back in there. I kept thinking it was a link to something more. Nope. Just disappeared like in the first book. Waste of book space. Ready for the last story and finish.
This may be the among the most page turning books I have ever read. I started and read until 6:00 a.m. Finally slept when Sage slowed down enough to shower and sleep. The next morning I was going at again and read until finished. I usually get bored and fall asleep. Not this series! Can't wait to see what is in store for Max. I wish there was more details about the other guys like Wyatt. Keep this series going.
The Healer was another great book in the series! I like how each of the main girls are so different and the love they find with each of their mates. It was also cool to see how Samantha, Rose, & Ava came to live with the pack--as I read Samantha's book before I even found this series. Sage and Paul are cute together and work well together as the doctor and healer of the pack. Can't wait for the next book!
I absolutely loved this book! The 3rd one in the series, and they all are awesome! I was disappointed when the book ended because I wanted to keep the story going. I like how one book flows into the next, and they all connect in the storyline. Can't wait for the next one! You must read them you will love them.
This book was simply amazing. Who knew that sage would have such a huge role in The Wolf world. I love the relationship between her and Paul how it steadily grew. Of course the best part was Emma and Garrett finally having their baby. Have to admit I cried it was so emotional. Can't wait for the next book in the series.
I absolutely love all 3 books in the series so far. I highly recommend reading all of them. Each book grabs you and takes you on an awesome journey. The author makes Each character very real. I can't say enough about this series. Just read them, you won't be disappointed.
I really dislike stupid heroines. Sage was just too stupid to live. I couldn’t even finish the book. I felt absolutely no empathy for her. I tried to put myself in her position but all I could think was that what stupid decisions she kept making. She’d realize that they were stupid and make similar ones again. I couldn’t even work up pity. Stupse.
I just can't say enough about this series! I'm gonna be heartbroken when it ends! Each book pulls you in. Laugh cry hold your breathe and the endings just make you want more! Love the fact no fowl language or explicit description of the sex is in these books. Very refreshing that I don't have skip over anything in this book! Love Love!
I really liked Paul in the other books and I was super excited that he got his own book. I loved Sage from the other books as well. Them together is perfect! They have a awesome story together. You're going to love this one! A lot of suspense, some fights, some in the ring fights, and A clean love story! Perfect!
No creepy vives in this one. I would say this is the best in the series so far. The characters are really coming together nicely. The story line moves along well. I had to stay involved with this book and finish it. Looking forward to the next one in the series.
Why do they have to run away from the hero and straight into trouble?! I don't understand why they have to give the hero such a hard time. Can we have strong heroines without the stupidity?
I love the book about the healer. She has such a tender heart and yet she is also formidable and does not back down from doing what she feels she needs to. Great clean story. Cannot wait to read the rest.
I am so glad that I found this author! I love this series, the characters and storylines. I am really glad on who has been paired together so far! Get the books and leave your reviews!
I am loving this series of stories, complex werewolves and other supernatural characters, with different abilities make for exciting reading. My compliments to this A.J.Manney ,clever twists and turns have me devouring each book.
Tayla's best friend is the healer!! I love Sage, and her and Paul make the perfect couple. The vampires are coming, and it's not good. We need the next female to win this war. She is next! I love this series.
OMG the Doc is in and I was on the edge of my seat reading this one, like wow this book had it all and the healer aspect of this read was awesome. What surprised me the most was the female lead she was surprisingly damaged and strong and it made for a good heroine.
It’s fast! You can’t put it down. I enjoy the action and that the good guys win! I also like that each story has a beginning, a middle, and an ending. No cliffhangers.
3.5 — honestly it’s hard to find werewolf that is action packed without smut. But I did with this series which is great for me. I do like some stories and characters more than others. This book is my least favorite out of all of the books in the series.
And this story just gets better and better…everything is beginning to line up and get more intense within their world, find these books very difficult to put down , I’m off to start number 4 in the series!!!
Surprised Paul & Sage are already pregnant with all the vampire stuff to deal with and so soon in the storyline. Adds to the chaos I guess. Loved it overall. Loved the proper grammar as well. My pet peeve.
I have enjoyed this series a lot. Great characters and the spelling and vocabulary for the most part are correct. It could have a bit more spice in it but still a good read
Another great addition to the series. I loved the fact that she was connected with her friend causing a duel connection with this world. I loved Paul and they were perfect together. An intriguing world, a suspenseful storyline and a wonderful romance.
It’s a good read. Lots less editing problems in this one. I do not like the young ages of all of the people but it is a good story and you don’t think about it too much. The final read should be a doozy. On to the next.
