This was such a heartwarming friends-to-lovers romance. One thing I love about the Ardor Creek series is the way each couple faces some tough, real-life problem. In this one, Gary and Justine are dealing with quite a few. Gary is a small-town cop who was shot in the line of duty years before, and nearly bled out. His injury has left him with physical issues that affect him when he tries to get intimate and his ex-wife wasn’t exactly nice about it. Artist Justine had a terrible abusive relationship with Dave in a previous book, who is now under a restraining order. Can these two friends finally become more? I loved how sweet this relationship was. Justine already has a child—Avery—and she and Gary aren’t playing coy about where they want things to go. I love how the friend network in this series is so close… couples we’ve seen in previous books come back and are interwoven into the story… every new book in the Ardor Creek series is just a cozy treat to relax and enjoy!

Ardor Creek is the kind of small town where you won't get bored. It has people with so many different stories to tell. I personally LOVE small town romance maybe that's why this series caught my interest from the very first book.

I can say one thing about the author which is she knows so goddamn well to portray a character. The character building in each of Ayla's book is amazing! I've never seen so many different kinds of characters in the same series. Also there's one more positive thing about the author that her characters always show us a ray of hope. Most of them are in their early 40s which makes them very mature and wise along with being optimistic about their situations.

Sometimes it's really refreshing reading the mature couples who actually know the meaning of life rather than some arrogant school sports God whose life starts and ends at football/soccer/rugby or some other famous sport.

Arresting Officer

Justine has had a rough go of things with her first marriage. Gary is also on his second go 'round. I really like how this second chance for love goes.

There are a couple of complications - an abusive ex and erectile dysfunction (ED) plus fertility issues. For the latter, I love how that was handled with steps forward and backwards as they navigate the challenges. As for the former? There's nothing good to say about him.

I received an author's copy of the audio book. The narrators Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross are a pair of my favorite narrators. They make you feel like these characters could easily be your friends. ❤🎧

This is book 5 in Ayla Asher’s Ardor Creek series. While this stands alone in terms of the couple’s relationship, characters and events are introduced in earlier books which make these best enjoyed in order starting with Hearts Reclaimed.

Ah! Some of my favorite tropes/themese here: small town, single mom and adorable child, friends to lovers, and wounded hero. Asher again tackles sensitive topics with compassion, grace, and sometimes a little humor. Justine leaving an abusive relationship and finding herself, Gary dealing with a line of duty injury that has him suffering with ED, and infertility. There's authenticity and relatability that people can bring emotional and physical issues into the relationship and still find fulfillment.

Gary is so sweet with Justine and her daughter Avery. My favorite part of friends to lovers is when the main characters realize that they both have been carrying feelings for each other beyond "just friends". Bonus here is that Gary has a great family friend relationship with Avery as well. So sweet.

I love, love the grand gesture ending as well as the cute little epilogue.

I'm excited to see where Asher takes Heather & Jeremy in Futures Entwined.

Note: As I'm making my way through the series, I find some of the dialogue "mannerisms" by the characters to be too similar. Specifically the endearment "honey" which every male character uses toward their FMC and most of the female characters in general. It doesn't keep me from enjoying them, but I definitely have to take breaks between them.

Narration:
Kai Kennicott & Wen Ross continue to rock the duet narration for this series. Enjoyable listen.

Amazing Story & Narration🎧 Captivating & Heartfelt!

Passions Fulfilled
Ardor Creek #4
by Ayla Asher
Narrated by Kai Kennicott, Wen Ross

Ayla Asher’s “Ardor Creek” is one of my favorite places to visit, she created something special in Ardor Creek, the world building is phenomenal and the characters are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with. It is a series of interconnected small town romance novels, each book stand’s on its own, they all feature different lead characters, some have appeared as support or secondary characters throughout the series but the descriptive details tell you what you need to know so you never feel lost or like you are missing something. That said, I highly recommend each book, not only are they amazing stories and characters but seeing them again is like seeing an old friend. It thrilled me to hear that Gary Lincoln and Justine Lancaster were getting their own story, I wanted to learn more about each of them. Justine was in an abusive marriage and Gary had responded to her home several times for domestic incidents. Justine and her daughter are free from her abusive ex and she has become good friends with Gary. She would like to take their relationship to the next step and she feels like he does too, but when they take one step closer, he takes two steps back. She wants to know why and he finally opens up to her. I loved how everything played out in this friends to lovers romance, also love how the author brings real life situations into her stories, handles them gracefully without any sugarcoating. This beautifully plotted story has the perfect balance of drama, a touch of angst, heartfelt emotions, and a heartwarming romance. Ayla Asher, thank you for another amazing story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 And for the wonderful narration, Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross continue to deliver an outstanding performance bringing these characters and their story to life. They had a complete understanding of the characters they portrayed, giving each a voice is the perfect fit for that character’s persona to a tee, sounding believable in every role they played and just as I pictured the characters to sound. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and projected them into their performance. These two are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another fantastic listen.

In the Ardor Creek series, we've read about real-life characters with real-life issues. We've had a widower, an addiction, abuse, infertility, and bullying. The author did not disappoint with this book and gave us a story of something I haven't read in any other book!

We met Justin in book number 3, Mark and Teresa's book; she is Mark's sister.
In book three, we learned that she was in an abusive relationship and got out of it in a challenging way.
In the same book, we also met Gary, the cop who keeps a close eye on Justin and her daughter Avery.

Justine was fearless and strong. She was so put together after everything she went through. She was so sweet, caring and I liked the determination she had. It's admirable to see women going after what they want.

Gary was so amazing! I could understand his fear and self-doubt. He was more realistic compare to Justin, but we all know that the opposite attract... Sort of.

Justin and Gary's connection was inevitable - and rightly so!
Justin deserves to be in a good and healthy relationship, and Gary also deserves to be with someone the accepts him just the way he is.

Like all the stories of Ardor Creek's couples, Justin and Gary's story was so realistic, and it was like sitting next to a couple of friends and hearing how they met, how they are getting along while seeing how much they care for each other.
Maybe because this author also writes (in a different pen name) fantasy books, she's giving us the sometimes harsh reality in this series but with HEA, of course.

I loved their understanding, acceptance, patient relationship.
I loved to catch up with the group of friends we met in the previous books - always fun to visit heroes after finishing their stories.
And I loved that I knew even before the end of the book who would be the next couple in the series!

I'm looking forward to the next book in the series!
For those who haven't yet read a book from the Ardor Creek series, start from the beginning - with Ashlin and Scott - and get ready to fall in love with a large group of friends that are funny, loyal, and loving!

I wish this series will go on and on and on....

Thank you to Ayla Asher for allowing me to listen to a copy of this book. I absolutely loved Justine and Gary's relationship. I know that in Resolutions Embraced, we got to see a bit of Justine and Gary's chemistry. And hearing about Gary and Justine's experiences with love and with sex had me almost crying. Gary literally shows Justine his love for her in so many ways, and they both deserve each other. They both deserve the happiness that they got with each other. I just love the representation and the diversity in the different experiences and aspects of each respective couple. I cannot wait to continue the series, even though I know that it'll be the last book I read from Ayla Asher for a little bit.

Loved this book. An easy, fun read. Such a different story than others out right now and I LOVE it everytime Ayla Asher makes sure to include the characters from the rest of the Ardor Creek series. It really feels like you're in this friend group with them, just hanging out and laughing. (I did gasp at one point in the book from suspense but it only lasted a handful of pages).

Another great book by Ayla Asher. I cannot wait for the next in the series!

Ardor Creek is like the small town next door that you want to be a part of. These heartwarming small town books just get you in the feels. Each comes with its own storyline, unique struggles and utter sweetness. This is the story of the cop and the criminal. It’s funny, sweet and overwhelming excepting. I love that authors are taking so much more depth into real life struggles adding depth and heart to thier stories. This is one of those. It’s not a thing you normally read about but it adds so much to the story. I love the small town nosy characters that remind me of growing up and as always the author creates characters that sneak into your heart and you want to keep them. The narrators did a great job and j have tk say I love it when they say the character chuckles or laughs and then narrators actually do. It’s the little things!

This is book five of the Ardor Creek series and tells of the coming together of Justine Lancaster, a year after her divorce to her abusive husband was finalised, and police officer Gary Lincoln, who has been in love with her for years and was the one that had to arrest her after she tried to defend her daughter from her husband. Her daughter Avery already likes Gary and likes to take cookies round to him, that she helps Justine to make. Justine had to suffer through being arrested and locked up after her abusive husband lied to the police about his attack on her and their daughter, then a trial as well. She had made mistakes with being in a relationship with Dean for as long as she did, thinking she loved him, even as he started hitting her and was never really nice to her! He belittled her and the art she used to make, making her believe she had no choice but to stay with him. Gary was shot in the upper leg, in the line of duty, some eight years ago and his marriage fell apart soon afterwards. His injury caused him problems with being intimate with his former wife, but it was more their immaturity when their marriage was really only about the physical, that caused it to implode. His ex-wife is about to remarry, so he will no longer need to pay alimony and he is looking forward to buying a permanent home in Ardor Creek.

After what happened to Justine, Gary has taken it upon himself to check up on Justine and her daughter Avery, even though her husband was given a strict restraining order and they are now divorced and he has supposedly moved onto another woman. Her artwork is beginning to sell well at an art gallery in town, owned by a couple from the city, where they also sell her pieces. Gary has always supported her shows and is still protective towards her and Avery. He thinks he can’t give her what she deserves after all her years of struggle, and is determined to make sure she finds the happiness she deserves with another man. Nut when someone handsome moves in next door and shows an interest in her, he has to make a move! She has thought Gary was attracted to her and thinks it is her reputation that is keeping him away, but it is the after effects of his injury that keeps him from acting on his feelings for years. Avery wants to see more of Gary, knowing her own dad is a mean man for what he did to her and her mum, and that helps Justine realise she can move forward in possibly changing their friendship to a relationship. But Gary is holding back for some reason and only her determination allows her to get him to reveal what secret is keeping them apart. It is a side effect of his injury and has held him back from wanting to try another relationship.

It will be hard work on both of their parts, to be understanding, but also not to lose faith in each other. Going back to believing in the doubts from a previous relationship would ruin what they have together, but that is where Teresa comes in very handy with her freebie therapy for friends. They have already made so many deep and painful decisions together, having to have conversations early on in their relationship that others might not make for years. They are getting on in age and these things can’t be left for too long, if they want it all. I loved little Avery, she steals the scene at times and is so open to loving having Gary in their lives. The story involves a lot of difficult subjects, as two people who have suffered from broken former relationships, get their second chance to find love and marriage. The steam has to be a bit more inventive and takes its time, as injury and performance fears need to heal. I received an ARC copy of this nook from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.

Summary
In this friends-to-lovers romance, Justine Lancaster is a single mom rebuilding her life after leaving an abusive marriage. She’s tough, resilient, and ready to open her heart again—but dating feels like uncharted territory. Enter Gary Lincoln, a small-town cop who’s been silently in love with Justine for years. Despite his love for her, Gary keeps pulling back, haunted by a past injury that has left him physically and emotionally scarred.

What follows is a deeply emotional journey where both characters learn to trust, heal, and find love despite their fears and vulnerabilities. Their chemistry is palpable, and the relationship develops in such a realistic, heartwarming way that you can’t help but root for them.
This book was like wrapping up in a warm blanket on a chilly day—comforting, emotional, and deeply satisfying. Right from the start, I was rooting for Justine and Gary, whose friendship carried such an aching undercurrent of love. Ayla Asher’s hallmark is blending tough, real-life issues with heartfelt romance, and this one hit me right in the feels.

Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross once again delivered an exceptional performance. Kai captured Justine’s quiet resilience beautifully, and Wen’s portrayal of Gary hit every emotional beat, from his protective nature to his moments of vulnerability. My only minor critique is that some of Gary’s dialogue felt slightly stilted in delivery during particularly emotional scenes. But overall, they brought this love story to life with warmth and authenticity.

Would I Recommend This Book?

Absolutely! This is a beautiful story of second chances, healing, and finding love in unexpected places. If you enjoy friends-to-lovers romance with emotional depth and relatable characters, this is a must-read (or listen). While it works as a standalone, reading the previous books in the Ardor Creek series will make the experience even richer.

Ayla Asher once again proves that romance isn’t just about the spark—it’s about building something meaningful and enduring. Passion Fulfilled is a heartfelt story that tackles tough topics like trauma and insecurity with grace, blending them seamlessly into a swoon-worthy love story.

This book left me with all the warm fuzzies and a renewed appreciation for stories about mature couples who’ve been through life’s ups and downs. Justine and Gary’s journey was one of my favorites in the Ardor Creek series, and I’m so excited to see what’s next.

Review:
Author Ayla Asher did yet another amazing job with the fifth book of this series. I was also yet again captivated with the characters, Gary and Justine, the plot of the story, and the outcome for the main characters. This was such a heartwarming friends-to-lovers romance. One thing I absolutely love about the Ardor Creek series is the way each couple faces some tough, real-life problems which makes each set of characters from each book easier for the readers to find them more relatable to them. Like all the stories of Ardor Creek's couples, Gary and Justine's story was quite realistic, and it was like sitting next to a couple of friends and hearing how they met, how they are getting along while seeing how much they care for each other. Maybe because author Ayla Asher also writes (in a different pen name) fantasy books, she's giving us the sometimes harsh reality in this series, but with HEA. I loved to catch up with the group of friends we met in the previous books- always fun to visit heroes after finishing their stories. And I loved that I knew even before the end of the book who would be the next couple in the series. Pluses and Minuses

I liked the characters at the core of this story, a single mom and the police officer friend of her older brother. Both have been married before, and their first relationships were disastrous for different reasons, hers because her ex was abusive and his because his wife couldn't get beyond his injuries sustained in the line of duty. Genre romances rarely tackle the hero’s fertility and potency issues, but this book doesn't shy away from them. The hero was shot near the groin, but not all his issues stem from what physically happened. After all, much of sex and “performance”--especially for men—is mental. This couple approached this in such a thoughtful, realistic, and compassionate way. Things weren't always perfect, even though they were strongly attracted to and had deep feelings for each other, and I liked how "issues" were typically driven by character and what was happening between them and in his life at the time.

The heroine has her vulnerabilities, too, and she simply appreciates having a man who treats both her and her daughter well; even with his issues, he is still a more kind and giving lover than her ex-husband The heroine's daughter is absolutely adorable, and even she is crazy about the hero; they are very cute together. The ending proposal scene is pitch-perfect and will feed your romantic soul. Storywise, the only thing I wasn't wild about was that the story has elements of light BDSM. I'm just not a fan of that at all in romances and don't find it remotely interesting or necessary for an otherwise decent steamy-sweet romance. (And, seriously, why does every story with this element always have both partners go crazy for it? It would be more realistic if some didn't like it, or partners didn't agree on parameters.) I also didn’t like the female narrator. She made every woman sound the same, with the same kind of snark and attitude. We're not all cut from the same cloth! I don't expect narrators to "act" a story--though that is fun--but not every character should be voiced the same way. Similarly, the female children's voices all sounded the same. Other than those issues, this was a good story. Recommended.

Eight years ago Police Officer Gary Lincoln was shot while on a call. His resulting injury greatly affected his ability in the bedroom. He and his wife no longer had much left going for them in their marriage, other than sex, and this problem was too much for his wife, Nadine, so they divorced.

Justine Lancaster had a very abusive marriage. Dean, her husband, was mentally and physically abusive to her since before their marriage. He always apologized and promised it would never happen again and she'd stupidly go back to him. Finally after he attacked her and hit their daughter, Avery, she fought back and was arrested for attempted murder. After being cleared, she received a divorce. In return for no alimony or child support, she kept the house. She also has sole custody of their daughter, Avery. Dean has a permanent restraining order forbidding him any contact with Avery.

Over the years, Gary has watched over both of "his girls". He feels that he's too damaged to ever be with another woman, especially one as special as Justine.

Justine is an artist. She paints, sculpts, draws and makes pottery. Her parents never understood her desire to earn her living with her artistic talents and dream of one day opening a gallery. For them, art is a hobby. Something to do in your spare time from your job, the job that supports you.

Gary becomes more and more involved with Justine and Avery. But can he stop comparing her to
Nadine's reaction to his injury? Can he finally believe that Justine loves him exactly as he is, his supposed flaws and all, or will he push her into the arms of her new neighbor?

As usual, the entire group of their friends and much of the town become involved in their love story.

Justine is the sister of the Mark who you meet in book 3, Desires Uncovered, and Gary is a local cop and long time friend of the group. Justine is trying to rebuild her life after being released cleared of attempted murder after an incident with her abusive ex husband. Gary is dealing with his own baggage after a shooting while he was on duty and the fall out leading to the demise of his marriage. Gary doesn’t feel good enough to be with Justine and her daughter and Justine is finally in a place to realize how important Gary is in her life and decides that being with Gary is an important part of her future.

This is book 5 in the Ardor Creek series, I was excited about getting Justine’s story and I was not disappointed. When we first meet Justine you don’t really understand her unwillingness to get free of her abusive relationship and she seems very broken. In Passions Fulfilled, you start to see a woman who is trying to finally take back control of her life. Gary is the ultimate book boyfriend that is dealing with a very real issue that could be a blow to any relationship. I loved Justine’s determination. They both have big obstacle’s to overcome but this book does a great job of realistically portraying how a couple might navigate some really big hurtles in a real way. I loved this book and the HEA was well worth it.

I listened to this book in audio and its in duet narration. The narrators are great an and the duet narration make this story even more immersive. Great book and an emotional story that is worth the read.

Passions Fulfilled was an awesome book. It was a sweet, heartfelt, friends to lovers story featuring Justine Lancaster and Gary Lincoln and the friendly small town of Ardor Creek. Justine was an artist who worked hard to leave her abusive marriage and rebuild her life with her daughter Avery. Justine is sweet, caring, and a good mother and friend. Gary met Justine while she was married and has kept watch over Justine and Avery since. Justine has been working on starting over and healing emotionally. She deserves a healthy relationship. Gary is a police officer who was injured in the line of duty. His injury unfortunately led to him suffering from erectile disfunction (ED) and to the ultimate demise of his marriage to Nicole. Gary too has been on an emotional journey trying to understand himself and overcome barriers to starting a new relationship. He was a good guy who deserved the love of a caring and compassionate woman who accepted him as is. Gary has been in love with Justine for a long time, so it was nice to see them grow together.

I liked the originality of the story and the courage of the author to write about ED, something many people don’t like to discuss so frankly. I thought the issues of domestic violence, ED, and infertility were handled respectfully, sensitively, and realistically. I also liked that the MCs were a mature couple. Asher did a good job with character development. The MCs were complex, yet realistic and relatable. I would recommend this book to readers who like small town, wounded hero, single mom, friends to lovers stories.

This was the most fun to read and the most I enjoy reading as well.
If your remember story of Desire uncover Justine is Marks sister who got arrested from definitely herself and her child from her husband Dean. Gary was the officer who was on site and arrested Justine and friends of Mark as well. Turns out Mark realize Gray was in love with Justine.

Now back to passions fulfilled.
Justine was happy her daughter Avery was free from her ex-husband abuse. Start a new life try to see what was next chapter. She had her support Mark and Teresa and her friends and officer Gary who always stop by to check on them. Her painting started going to galleries and getting more income. But one thing that had her mind was trying to see if she could started dating and find the right person for herself and love her daughter as well.

Gary was police officer at Ardor Creek who fell in love with Justine. But something happen eight years back that ruined his marriage to Nicole. Gary was welling to let Justine go. He knew he would t be the man to be with her. Because of the awful accident eight years ago.

Justine found what happened Gary eight year ago and the reason why he was acting to be friends. Their Connection was so strong. That they took the next level. Justine love Gary show him that she wasn’t like his ex-wife.

I’m not going to spoil this story. I love it I wish I can give 10. Ayla Asher you out done your self with this story and can’t wait for book 6 😉 oh yeah guys their more to come on next charter

Passions Fulfilled

Series Ardor Creek #5

Small town romance is one of my favorite, and Ardor Creek is a favorite town of mine that I just love to visit. Ayala Asher writes unique stories in this community that are relevant and easy to relate to. Justine had an abusive marriage. From the first time she had the police come, and Gary responded, he had begun to fall for her. Now single, she is ready to move on. But his injury from years ago has him second guessing that it's his time! Until Justine takes the reigns. And their story begins. This story goes to show that no matter the circumstance, with some time and effort, things can be overcome. I love how Justine shows compassion and patience with Gary. And Gary's alpha side comes out, showing just how fierce his love is. But the real selling point for me is Gary with Justine's daughter. Melt my heart. Asher throws a little suspense in this one too, and it will make you jump and even cringe a little! It gives the story depth and realism. Life is messy, and these two show just how you can clean it up.

Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross continue their narration of this series. One of my favorite teams, these two are fantastic. Kennicott builds Justine up after her dire situation, giving her courage and strength. Her kid voices are spot on too! Ross creates Gary with a false bravado, showing his true vulnerability and love. This is a wonderful listen and great addition to this series. I can't wait until the next visit!

Justine Lancaster barely made it out alive from her abusive marriage to Dean Rogers, and she is going to build a better life for her daughter, Avery. Gary Lincoln is a police officer who was shot and badly injured during an armed-robbery. His marriage was over when his wife couldn't deal with his injuries. Gary and Justine find themselves drawn to each other but their insecurities stemming from their failed marriages keep them from voicing their feelings. But Gary deals with an embarrassing condition (ED) as a result of the shooting and he's afraid that he will never be able to pleasure Justine. It's a lovely story of facing adversity with strength and belief in your partner, but it's also a testimony to true love and forgiveness. This journey back to Ardor Creek is bittersweet since this is the final story about this group of neighbors and friends. Ayla Asher gives us a trip down memory lane with a nod to many of the characters in the series. As always, Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross do a tremendous job with the narration. They do a great job portraying the characters, bringing them to life, giving each their own voice and personality. You can hear how much heart they put into their work as they capture the characters' emotions and project them into the performance. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to.

I was so excited to read this book of the series after what happened in book 3! I crammed this book in every free minute I found! Justine's story is near and dear so I desperately wanted her to find love! And poor Gary, divorced and wounded, mentally and physically. Gary secretly loved Justine for a long time but she was married to a horrible person. Now, they're both free but he has a lot of hang-ups about himself and an issue he got due to working as an officer. Justine has concerns that Gary will only ever see her as a victim. The author threw some things in that had me wondering, but she totally fooled me! The ride of this story was so phenomenal and had me clutching my chest so many times! I often pick a side of which main character is my fav, but in this book I was rooting for them both equally! The chemistry was palpable through the pages! My heart exploded. Maybe my fav of the series! Love, love, love!

Story Review: 5 stars
MMC/FMC- Gary and Justine
POV- 3rd person
Genre- Contemporary Romance
Sub Genre- Small Town Romance
Heat- this directly impacts the story and I’m not going to give spoilers.
Safety: No Cheating, No S. Violence, No Cliffhanger.
HEA/HFN? Y
Triggers- Language, Explicit Erotic Content, Infertility, Past Abuse
Tropes- Friends to Lovers, Single Mom, Medical Issues, Adorable Moppet, Delicious Desserts. And both exes suck.
What I liked- this author handles difficult topics with grace and sensitivity, and this story is no exception. A rather sensitive subject is a major plot point, and the characters work through it and with it together. I also like that the couple aren’t in the first blush of youth. Yay Older Love!
What I didn’t- all the descriptions of delicious brownies made me stay up past my bedtime baking.
Verdict- highly recommended.

Justine was in an abusive relationship and Gary was the cop who always came to the rescue. Now years later they are friends with lots of chemistry. Gary is resisting acting on the attraction because of his own personal challenges with male infertility and the remaining influence of an injury while on the job years ago and Justine can’t imagine that anyone would want to date a former attempted murderer with a kid. Together they overcome their traumas and insecurities and become the next HEA in Ardor Creek.

It was so fun to see Justine grow from her previous role in the Ardor Creek books. She and Gary were such a sweet couple, lots of challenges but very well handled. There were some parts that felt like they went too fast and were just glossed over but overall it was an enjoyable storyline with a good amount of spice.

This series just keeps getting better!
As the series progresses, we face more and more issues that typically arise in the real world.

This time, Justine (Mark’s sister) is finally away from her husband and the horrific DV living situation that she was in.
Gary suffered a very unfortunate injury on the job, and has split from his wife.

He has ED, and her prior situation means that both are traumatised, and Gary has some very unspoken fears.

I adored this story - Justine was a sweet heart, her daughter was am angel and Gary deserved all the happiness he could get. The way that Justine faced Gary’s issues with him was so well done, and I was so happy that they had their full HEA.

As usual - an introduction to characters for the enxt novel, and I’m really looking forward to it.

Narrators Kai Kennecott and Wen Ross again do a superb job. His voice? Smooth….

I absolutely loved listening to this book, Passions Fulfilled, Ardor Creek #5 by Ayla Asher because it was such fantastic second chance story about Justine and Gary. They have both had some traumatic things happen in the past and in each of their relationships. Their story was filled with steam and romance and just a bit of drama. But it is truly about getting a second chance at love. I love the cover of this book as well. I can totally picture Justine and Gary looking like this. The narrators are fantastic as well. They really get into readng this story. I love this series as well. It feels like the characters of Ardor Creek are family and love the updates of each character in each of the stories. I recieved an ARC of this story via StoryOrigin and I am voluntarily choosing to leave this review. I would highly recommend reading this series and this book.

Wow, this book was steamy! It was fun getting to know Justine Lancaster. We got a glimpse of her in her brother's story in Desires Uncovered, so I felt like I already knew her, and I loved Gary's character. He was so easy to like and just seemed like the nicest guy. Some of the subject matter in this book, like domestic abuse and male infertility is always hard to read about, but Ayla Asher did a wonderful job with each of these subjects. Hard to talk about, but it's a reality we need to hear about even if we have not experienced it. It helps us understand what other may be going through. I listened to the audio version of the book and as always, the narrators, Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross were great! I loved those two. The only thing that has been bothering me throughout this series, is the overuse of "banging". I don't know any over 40-year-olds that use that word. Hilarious...makes me laugh every time.

This is the 5th book in the Ardor Creek series, and tells the story of Justine and Gary. They have been friends for some time, he has been there for her as police to rescue her from her ex husband, and support through her rough times. Now she is divorced with a funny daughter, and also harboring feelings for Gary. He hasn't had it easy in life, his ex wife is a nut case, and his work injuries have led him to infertility and ED. But as friends start to face their feelings, truths come out and they need to make decisions about their relation ship and the future. You are going to cheer for their love, dislike their exs, cry at their truths, smile at her daughter, and feel their pain. The plots are realistic with mature characters who are not afraid to show themselves.

** For mature audiences **

Welcome back to Ardor Creek!

Two friends, who have both been hurt in the past, turn to each other for support. There's definitely a spark there, but can they move beyond their pasts and finally get what they both need and deserve?

Ayla Asher doesn't shy away from the tough topics, and she tackles them perfectly. Her characters are genuine and likeable. I love how all the stories from Ardor Creek can stand alone but are all intertwined as well.

The narration by Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross was wonderful. There's a definite emotional connection and it comes through loud and clear.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

Justine was arrested for attempted murder, but it was really a matter of self-defense, otherwise, her husband would have killed her and her little daughter. After that, she always felt scared and insecure.
Gary was shot while in action and that resulted in some issues that cost him his marriage. Now he is afraid of trying again.
I loved how Gary took care of Justine and her daughter and how Justine feel safe with him. I liked how they got to each other and find what they needed. And, of course, I fell in love at first sight with Avery. She is so cute!
A very emotional story I enjoyed reading every single page of it.

So back to Ardor Creek for Justine and Gary's story. We met them in Mark and Teresa's. Justine has been re-discovering herself after her divorce and everything that happened before that. She finds that she's extremely attracted to her friend, a town cop Gary. He's dealing with his own insecurities from his divorce and a tragic work event. Gary has also been attracted to Justine for years and adores her daughter too. Can they work through their insecurities together and navigate a path to happiness? There's plenty of laughter, passion, friendship, family, love and so much more throughout. Enjoy this emotional rollercoaster ride!.
