This was, of course, a reread. I love these stories so much, and the end of the last one always makes me sob. Winnie the Pooh has a timeless charm that no other children’s story can quite reach. These stories are beyond special, even if the end makes me very happy and very sad at the same time. Especially as a mother to three young children. I hope I will always allow those precious children time to “do nothing.”

3.5 ⭐️. Read to my 10, 7, and 5 year old. I’ll tell you what I loved: the cutest stories with the most gorgeous illustrations.
What I didn’t like: such a difficult read aloud. I don’t know why but A.A. Milne’s stuff does not roll off the tongue for me. I think these stories are best read on your own.

Such fun stories to read with our kids (though Shan doesn’t like my Tigger voice). Some of the characters are a lot less enjoyable than I remember; Eeyore in particular was incredibly annoying. The stories are also a lot wittier than I remember and had our kids rolling on the floor laughing.
