***This box set includes the full Claire Trilogy by award-winning author Tom McCaffrey. The prequel, Finding Jimmy Moran, is now available! Book #4 of The Claire Saga, Where the Ley Lines Meet, releases June 2024.

THE WISE ASS (Book 1)

When Wise Guys meet the Wise Ass and friends, all hell breaks loose.

After his brothers are murdered, a New York mob lawyer testifies against his associates and is forced to enter WITSEC (the Witness Protection Program). He and his wife are relocated to a rural area outside a small town in Colorado where he is compelled to adapt to his new life under the constant threat of mafia reprisal. Reflexively resisting his immersion into all things country, this life long city boy meets and adopts a loquacious mule and befriends his closest neighbors, who have even greater secrets to conceal.

A renegade US Marshall, a lesbian couple that includes a powerful psychic-medium-witch and an ex-army ranger completes his new circle of friends. When the mob associates are released due to the lawyer's intentionally prejudicial testimony at trial, they come gunning for him before the retrial can occur.

AN ALIEN APPEAL (Book 2)

An Alien Appeal picks up where The Wise Ass left off, expands the roster of mystical and magical characters, reunites Jimmy with his last sibling and finds Jimmy and Everett traveling through space to Proxima b to answer to that planet's elite for Everett's decisions and Jimmy's continued existence.

All of Jimmy's wishes come true, including arguing his friend's case before the highest court in this galaxy, but there are prices to pay and Jimmy's life hangs in the balance. Love is tested and irrevocable choices are made.

These colorful characters' continuing evolution embraces love, interstellar courtroom drama, loss and tears. Of course, Claire plays her central role in the resolution of it all, but nothing remains the same. Beware the law of unintended consequences.

KISSING MY ASS GOODBYE (Book 3)

This final installment of The Claire Trilogy picks up where An Alien Appeal leaves off, expands the roster of mystical characters and introduces the next generation of Terran-Centauri hybrids. When the interstellar childrens' powers are inadvertently exposed to the Internet, Machiavellian twin tech tyrants attempt to kidnap them for their own nefarious purposes.

During the ultimate showdown between Claire and her family of misfits, one of the most powerful corporations on earth and the United States military, love is tested and lives are forfeited. Where will the survivors go from here? Be ready to say goodbye.

Weirdly different!

This author’s mastery of written expression makes reading a pleasure - I thoroughly enjoyed his ability to weave a wildly imaginative story featuring a clever plot full of intrigue and unique characters. Unfortunately in books 2 & 3, he periodically curdles his smoothly flowing narrative with clotted tirades vilifying our government’s Covid response - opinions not central to the story, which would be better expressed on an editorial page. If you can forgive his moments of jangling political rants, you will actually relish this series and fall in love with his truly delightful characters - the world needs more Claire!!

Actually, I couldn’t finish it got so stupid. I really liked the premise and sounded like it should be a wild ride, but about three fourths of the way through the first book, it just started getting so ridiculous that eventually I did what I NEVER do and decided to stop reading it. Not worth your time, I’m afraid to say. Which is sad because I love crazy books like this, but all the other political bs just got to be too much.

The Claire Book Trilogy

I couldn't put the book down and read the whole trilogy in two days. It was such a great story no matter how fantastical it would get. Just when you think it can't get any crazier low and behold it does. It is written so well and is fast paced. The characters become endearing as they evolve during the course of the story. I look forward to reading the other two books that are part of the theme of this one.

Did we really need to have American political bias in the last book?

I really enjoyed the first two books but the third was spoiled by a political rant in the middle. I don’t much care on which side of the political pie you place your fork, but I didn’t feel that it added to the story.

Well written, entrancing, terrific characters. This was a great read. I'd recommend it to everyone. But be prepared, you won't be able to do anything else until you finish.

Enjoyable read

I admit the alien scenario was a bit of a stretch. I enjoyed that Jimmy grew and his expanding family. All families come in different personalities and characteristics. The fun in watching them mesh and learn to appreciate each other.

Really not interested in the author’s political views

Series started off ok, then took a turn to the bizarre. Stuck with it til his political views started coming through at which point I skimmed to the end. Will not read another of his books

Should be a TV series

I read this thrilling trilogy and immediately read it again. These characters are so incredible. And a story line that moved from one exciting episode to the next. Fell in love with Claire. Who wouldn't love a talking mule with her sense of humor. Without a doubt the best thing I have read in a long time. Totally entertaining.
