I was lucky to win this in a Goodreads Giveaway and have made 1 meal so far from it. Very delicious and hearty. Everyone I have showed the book to has said they want a copy themselves.
The book is quality from the cover to the pages inside. There are pictures from the set of Yellowstone and each recipe has an intro from Gator usually referencing the show and how the meal came about.
Looking forward to making many more meals from it.
I love this damn show! I love cookbooks! I love reading cookbooks cover to cover! And this is a GREAT cookbook. I read every single recipe and I cannot wait to start making some of this recipes and bringing my inner cowgirl out! Someone grab me an apron, it’s time to get COOKIN’!
Oh, my WOW!!! This cookbook is the best Western-American (with a dose of Creole) cookbook I have ever seen or had a chance to cook with. I have searched for years for a great chicken gumbo soup. Check! Baby back ribs? Check! A delicious roast, or better ways to create delicious chicken? Check! And, how about a biscuit recipe that is just right for a small gathering? It’s all here! And, what makes it even more wonderful is that, with the exception of picking up some fresh meat or produce, chances are better than good that you already have at least most if not all of the ingredients on hand. The recipes use simple components like salt, pepper, butter, cayenne … you get the idea. This moves from one fantastic meal to the next with ease and includes all the extras. And, in case you missed it, the book is chock full of photos from the “Yellowstone” series, where the author started as a caterer and makes on-screen appearances as the family chef as well. I know already that the pages are going to be some of the messiest ones in my kitchen, purely out of frequent use. What a great investment for a little more than a few cups of coffee!
This cookbook is filled with wonderful photos, insights into the filming of the Yellowstone tv series, and delicious--mostly southern--recipes. This is not a cookbook for the health conscious, but for those of us who want an occasional protein and fat hit, it's spectacular. Not every recipe is less than healthy, and some everyday gems are included. The Dutton Ranch dressing is a terrific recipe, and although there are only a few veggie recipes, the Potato Corn Chowder is a winner, as is the Fry Bread. My son couldn't wait for me to try Jimmy's Cowboy Beef Chili, and I have to say that it's really delicious and super simple, particularly compared with my own recipe for Texas Red--definitely meat heavy and best with plenty of grated cheese and pinto beans, plus corn bread on the side. I could go on, because there are other things my family enjoyed. Me? I thought the photos and little anecdotes about the production were even stronger.
Beautifully put together. It's an interesting take because it covers food on the show (including the two scoops ice cream/three shots vodka shake that went viral) as well as food fed to the crew. The western food, Cajun food, and personal family recipes provide an interesting blend. The author Gator is the real chef for the show as well as on the show as a character. It's a cool read for "Yellowstone" fans.
This is an awesome cookbook. Pictures of 95% of the recipes, stories from the set/why Gator chose this recipe to include, and the recipes include ingredients you probably have on hand (or are easy to get).
I received this book free through the Goodreads giveaway. Loved the recipes in this book! Can't wait to try the venison meatball one. Thank you for the opportunity.
Everything looks super tasty and I am really looking forward to trying every single recipe! Even if you've never watched the show it is a worth having cookbook
Cookbooks like this often focus on theme over substance, but not Yellowstone. Every recipe I’ve attempted has come out perfect and tasty! Excellent layout, design and imagery.
So goooood! I've made 4 recipes so far. And all have been a hit with my family. And I have multiple more post it noted to do next week. Easy, filling and so yummy!
Great recipes and great pictures of both the food and the show. If you are a fan of Yellowstone, this is a must for you. I saved a bunch of recipes for later.
