The barely old enough to drink girl I’m forced to marry is an anime-loving, manga-reading, selective mute brat who wears too much eyeliner that highlights the anger in her eyes. Neither of us want this marriage but it will happen. I’ve worked too hard for too long not to do whatever it takes to run Vegas on behalf of the Outfit.
I’m not surprised when Carina runs. What I wasn’t ready for is how much I want to catch her. Not because I have to marry her, because I want to—want her. I want her for her. Panic attacks, eyeliner, curvy gorgeous body, and all. The problem comes with convincing her.
Carina may take some to believe me, believe in me. I’m not worried. We have all the time in the world because she belongs to me and I’m never letting her go.

I came across my first Harlequin by accident and it was love at first read, no one died and happy endings? It was a whole new world and I loved it.
I wrote my first story at eight and everyone died, of course. Since then I would like to think I've gotten better and now I'm writing the happily ever afters I first fell in love with, with some hot sex thrown in along the way.
As a plus size woman myself, I have started writing the stories I always wanted to see myself in but never did. And now I'm ecstatic to give BBWs the happily ever afters with hot Alphas they so rarely get.

One thing that always strikes me about Fiona's characters is how different they are in the same role. You always find such specific and unique characteristics in each character. I love the authenticity in Sandro's personality and the originality in Carina's. If you know me, you know I love Fiona's writing style, so *perfect*

His Vicious Vow by Fiona Murphy is the First book in the Vicious Vegas Series. This is the story of Alessandro Leonetti ‘Sandro’ and Carina Parker. Carina is the youngest daughter of a don who is the Chicago Mafia. Her older sister Celia whose story was told in the book "Beautiful Broken Obsession'. It was nice to get some of the other characters in this book. I always love that. But to move on, Sandro is a older man who had to raise his younger sister Bianca but is now having to move forward in the mafia which leads him to a marriage of convenience with Carina. Sandro thinks that this will be a inconvenience but is willing to do so. But once he meets Carina he feels a connection and want he didn't expect. I love Ms. Murphy's books so this was a must read for me!

Goodfellas meets Taming of the Shrew. The premise: after his boss is moved to Chicago, Sandro (short for Alessandro) is inline to take over control of “the Outfit” in Vegas. The Don isn’t sure, but tells him he will give him one year to prove himself and that Sandro must marry the Don’s 22 year old daughter. He accepts the Don's offer and flies to Chicago to meet Carina.
Carina is a wild child. She wears too much makeup and constantly dresses in cosplay characters from her favorite manga and anime. She has a complicated and tense relationship with both parents, only close to her beloved sister Celia. When news of her father's plan to marry her off, Carina tries to run but is stopped and encouraged by a family friend to at least meet Sandro. Sparks fly, of course.
Their relationship is a mess from the start. He goes in being cold and businesslike, not expecting to be attracted to her. She is attracted to him, but not enough to fight her urge to run. She tries to run again, but is brought back. There's quite a bit of back and forth drama alongside miscommunication, so if that isn't your thing, you might not like this one. The characters have good chemistry and the story moves along well paced. Dual, first person, POV helped. Carina's brat/shrew persona were a costume she hid behind, and even while in therapy she fought coming out from behind her mask despite proof she no longer needed its protection. It was frustrating and lessened my enjoyment of the story.
Can be read as a stand alone, although there are other books set in this world to enjoy. Movie rating is NC17--the images and language are raw combined with the dark setting. Cover image is a 3/5, 4/5 stars overall rating, 3/5 hearts for the romance, 4/5 violence, and 4/5 flames for the graphic and liberal spice. If you can handle the triggers, I recommend.

I would put this on the higher end of the 3 star scale. The writing itself was nice and it was a very quick read. I also liked the neurodiversity and that our heroine was a larger girl. It was nice to see her in therapy, even if that wouldn't actually be a thing in the Mafia. And if I were rating the first quarter of the book it would have been 5 stars. Unfortunately, it fell apart in the 2nd and 3rd quarters plus it had some of my least favorite tropes-forced pregnancy and miscommunication as a main plot point. 😏 Point out that she's in weekly therapy and then blatantly refuse to do any of the "therapy work". 🤨 Should I 👏 because you mentioned it several times?! It makes it worse as far as I'm concerned. She has the tools and knowledge, but instead she's just stubbornly refusing to learn. Because she's "quirky and unique". 😏 That's different. 😉 So you take a very good beginning and mix it with a pretty bad middle and an good ending and you get meh plus.

His Vicious Vow gives us Sandro and Carina’s story of an arranged marriage that turns into much more. I liked Sandro’s character more than Carina’s as she really frustrated me at times, however I get why she acted the way she did. I felt like the suspense in this one could have been a bit better and there was a lot of miscommunication between the two that got really old. Every time it seemed like they were getting somewhere, something would happen that one of them would misconstrue and they wouldn’t work it out at all. Dear wife/dear husband also got kind of annoying by the end. I wanted to rate this one higher but the amount of grammar errors and run on or stilted sentences was just too much for me to justify it. The story also kind of ended on a cliffhanger/open ending so that also hindered my thoughts on it.

Growing Up
Sandro and Bianca may be brother and sister but they are also all that the other has! Living on the Vegas strip in a hotel is not a normal lifestyle and yet they make it work. Living and breathing the Outfit is also not a normal lifestyle and again, they make it work. Being a Brat is what everyone thinks Bianca is but they’ve also never walked a mile in her shoes and she’s not been forced to grow up. Sandro is working to climb the ranks of the Outfit and all of the responsibilities that entails while Bianca is navigating life without her anchor! Is there “A Person” for either of them? Will they tear each other apart or will they learn to compromise? I definitely cannot wait for the next book!

This is the first in a new series and this is Sandro and Carina’s journey. Sandro has brought up his younger sister and is now ready to move forward in the mafia, and to enter an arranged marriage with Carina. Carina is sassy, and she is the youngest daughter of a Chicago mafia Don, who is haunted by her past demons, and having never been loved, which results in her behaviour now. This is a well written story which has family, an age gap, acceptance, forced proximity, emotions, insecurities, danger, suspense, intrigue, twists, and love, which leads to an entertaining and riveting page turner.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

Vicious vow
I've read a few books by this author and always enjoyed them. Especially as they have a bbw as the heroine. I love mafia romance and was excited to start reading this book. I enjoyed the story for carina and sandro. She came across as young and naive but that was from the lack of care and support from her parents. Were as sandro didn't want the marriage at first until he met her. There's alot of uncertainty in carina and how she views the world and people around her. I did find it difficult to read as I felt the editing of the book was off, and the flow of the story was affected by it. It may have just been me. But that is the reason for my star rating.

Trigger warning for some readers!!
Carina's life experiences had me in tears. I think if I went through the things she did, I'd probably do just what she did! Her parents. . . I'll just leave that right there! But timid she is NOT! (I like her)
Sandro needed her just as much as she needed him. He provided EVERY opportunity for her to have what she needed as well as what she didn't think she deserved. He's even romantic in his all consuming affection for her. (I liked him a LOT) His sister. . once again, I'll leave that right there!
Their situation brought tears to my eyes more than once.
I know I don't have a choice but I can't wait to read the next book!

Carina and Sandro are set out to be married and first Sandro doesn't have any interest but when he sees her, he's goes J/P and it was great! I Love These Books
I have read all of the Sabatini and adjacent series starting with the nephews in the Dirty Billionaire series and it feels like each book is a gem. Tony while ruthless like the Mafia is, is really kind. His kindness has show in multiple books across the different series. I loved Milos and Celia's book and I loved Carina and Sandro's story just as much. I can't wait for Bianca's story.

I have really been enjoying these books by Fiona Murphy, they can be read as standalone, however I do feel you get more out of them if you have read the others that connect to this. I loved Carina and Sandro, and how their relationship developed, Sandro went out of his way to try to connect with and support Carina, however due to her past experiences, she did her best to evade him - I found how her selective muteness came about quite heartbreaking, but it helped show her true strength.

The Vegas branch is getting fleshed out. Sandro and Carina, an arranged marriage and all the angst that goes with that. It feels like this one was rushed. Needs a lot of editing ( missing words, run on sentences)

So much for love
A very enjoyable read. This just goes to show that people need to tell the truth to each other and ask questions. So much angst could have been avoided if Carina and Sandro would have really talked to each other honestly. I fell in love with them both. I could not put the book down until I finished the last word. So worth reading especially if you are a romantic.

I like this book a lot. Sandro is so sexy, smart, and kind. It's slightly different from the others' outfit guys. My favourity ML of Fiona. The story is sexy and different, and Carina is also different from all other FL. If like Fionas's books, you need to read this one. It does not disappoint 👏

After recently discovering this author, i am addicted to reading her books.
I always thought mafia stories would be filled with horror stuff (something I hate) but they are so not.
This story is a definite pageturner. The emotions I felt when reading it were love, hate, laughter and love. Fabulous storyline and can't wait for book 2. Highly recommended read xx

An amazing arranged marriage read. It has drama, danger and suspense. It will suck you in from the start as it keeps you turning the pages with some twists and turns. I loved the characters, the connection and the undeniable chemistry. Sandro and Carina will captivate your heart. It’s an entertaining and intriguing read. Looking forward to reading more.

Good story, writing could use some work
While the premise was good, the characters vibrant, the sex scenes engaging, the storytelling was amateurish at best, the writing riddled with spelling mistakes, scenes were choppy and difficult to follow at times. It reads more like fanfic than a professionally written and edited manuscript.

Good story, but needs proofreading
Not my first F Murphy book. Enjoyed the story, but noticed several grammatical errors. Needed an editor and a basic spell check. Was a lttle distracting.

I enjoyed it. My only problem was them not talking it out, he assumes she just wanted his money and she never clears it up!! Like dude. I get her reservations but he prove multiple times he cared and loved her.

The story was good, but the book was riddled with typos and run-on sentences. A typo here or there is understandable, but as other reviews have said, it is as if it wasn't proofread before publishing, and some of the errors confuse the dialogue. All that aside, the story was good.

it was free and recommended on reddit but there were a lot of vapid content, like we are reading off the entire commentary in the fmc’s brain. i don’t like the main characters so maybe that’s what’s on top. i skipped to the smutty bits but by the time i was 70% in, it didn’t feel worth it anymore.
