What if the darkest myths in human history were actually real, just distorted over time?
Building a new nation is not a simple task, and it’s made even harder with every nation on the planet wanting the Solarian Union’s advanced technology, no matter the cost.
But when terrorists unleash a devastating, genetically engineered plague into the world, that advanced technology is the only thing standing between humanity and the annihilation of our species.
Michael and those following him have done what they set out to do—they have colonized space. But they cannot cut all the ties to their ancestral home, and the sufferings of its peoples. Besides, someone needs to hunt down those who intentionally opened Pandora’s Box and punish them—with prejudice.
The AI they found at the bottom of the Mariana Trench answered some important questions about the makers of the ancient spaceship, but it also revealed a primeval enemy of humanity. All the holy books warned us about it… but we didn’t listen.
Now, from the far reaches of space, something is coming… something intelligent, and deadly, and utterly ruthless.
What dark secret about ancient aliens has the Vatican kept hidden for more than a thousand years? What is the cave inside Olympus Mons on Mars keeping safe? And what do you do when your actions may have put all humanity on the path to extinction?
Ancient Enemies By Igor Nikolic This has so much content in it! So much action, new events, characters, and lots of intriguing situations! Really kept my interest. There are new species introduced to the plot. Looks like there will be more books.
First book of 2024! Loved it! I love this series, and this third book really just blasted the whole world open with possibilities for future books. I appreciated the fun, alternative mythologies and new alien species.
I liked this series, I really did. And I wanted to like this book. I was excited when I got the notification about its release. Unfortunately the book lost my attention around 20% of the way through because it sort of devolved into this unapologetically black and white caricature of geopolitics, social movements, and society as a whole. I don’t even necessarily disagree with a lot of the political stuff, it just felt like it unnecessarily flooded the narrative and came off preachy. The conflict also lacked nuance. Don’t get me wrong, the previous books had this too, but this one felt exceptionally obvious about it. It boiled down to: MC and co. are right in all they do, and anyone saying otherwise is a blatant idiot/narcissistic asshole/cartoon villain that needs to either be strong-armed into compliance or dealt with through violence. Kinda disappointed, but looking back, I can sort of see that it was leading this way anyways, so… I guess this one just viscerally attacked the escapism I had originally sought the series out for.
The book jumps around with different crises the characters have to deal with. The idea of angels and demons fighting and being real is different and intriguing. I can’t wait to read the next volume.
So. Dealing with more terrorist as usual. And dealing with some in the preferred methodology. But not before they do significant damage. This book is all about upping the ante. The solarium union is expanding. More ships bigger ships. And more technology. However the good news is the history of the ship and much Of earth history is explained. This of course opens a new Pandora's box. The cats out of the bag and Big trouble coming on the horizon. Looking forward to the next book.
This series continues to impress me with it’s originality and innovations. I initially wasn’t in love with the backstories of the aliens, but I realized that it makes the same amount of sense as any other beliefs. My one gripe with this book is the Pope, but then again, it had a logical explanation even if not completely plausible. This really felt like a building block to get to the next book and I just can’t get enough of this series. Impatiently waiting for Solar Incursion!
Yhis book was as entertaining as much or even more tha the first 2 books. The author has built a powerful plot and time line of events that will keep you interested till the last word.
I loved the earth storylines how they closed out in this book and set up the next phase of the series and I can’t wait to see Michael’s reaction on a hidden event in this book. Cairn wait for book 4!
Loved the book from start to finish cold not put it down great characters interesting world building intrigue and action well written great pace to the story hope there is lots more to come !
“Ancient Enemies” is the third book in the Space Legacy series by Igor Nikolic, a thrilling sci-fi saga that explores the mysteries of ancient aliens, the dangers of advanced technology, and the destiny of humanity. The audiobook is narrated by James Patrick Cronin, who does a superb job of bringing the characters and the story to life with his expressive voice and impeccable accents.
The book picks up where the previous one left off, with Michael and his followers having colonized space and formed the Solarian Union, a new nation that possesses the secrets of the ancient spaceship they discovered in the first book. However, their troubles are far from over, as they face threats from both Earth and beyond. A terrorist group unleashes a deadly plague that threatens to wipe out humanity, while a mysterious and ancient enemy emerges from the depths of space, bent on destroying everything in its path. Michael and his allies must use their wits, courage, and technology to stop these foes, while also uncovering the truth about the origins of their ancient spaceship and the role they play in a cosmic war that has been raging for eons.
“Ancient Enemies” is a fast-paced and action-packed book that keeps the reader hooked from start to finish. The plot is full of twists and turns, surprises and revelations, and epic battles and confrontations. The author skillfully blends science fiction, mythology, history, and religion, creating a rich and complex world that is both fascinating and believable. The book also raises some thought-provoking questions about the nature of life, intelligence, morality, and destiny, and how they are influenced by technology and culture.
The characters are well-developed and relatable, each with their own personality, background, and motivation. Michael is a charismatic and visionary leader, who is also flawed and conflicted. He has to balance his ideals and ambitions with his responsibilities and limitations, and deal with the consequences of his actions. He is surrounded by a diverse and loyal group of friends and allies, who support him and challenge him in different ways. The antagonists are also interesting and complex, not just evil for the sake of being evil, but having their own reasons and agendas. The book explores the dynamics and conflicts between different factions and groups, both human and alien, and how they affect the fate of the galaxy.
“Ancient Enemies” is a satisfying and rewarding continuation to the Space Legacy series, a must-read for fans of sci-fi and adventure. It is a book that will keep you entertained, intrigued, and inspired, and make you wonder about the mysteries of the universe and the possibilities of the future. The audiobook is a great way to experience this book, as it enhances the story with the voice and skills of the narrator. I highly recommend this audiobook to anyone who loves a good sci-fi story with a lot of action, mystery, and drama.
different story scenarios. Good cast of characters, book a little bit too short for me could use 50 more pages.
Like the other books, I enjoyed this one very much. It is light fair. Not too heavy on violence and destruction. Could use a bit more if you ask me. The varied storylines of diverse but the book in my opinion is too short. Could use at least another 50 to 60 pages. That’s how good I think the story is. I know the author may be suffering from some malaise from COVID-19 so I wish him my very best and getting over that finally. Can’t wait for the next book. You will enjoy this series if you have not started it yet start from book one.
So much going on and so little explained First off I have to admit, I had forgotten what had happened on books 1&2, so book 3 took a while to become clear, but even then it wasn't that clear The main premise is easy enough to follow, but it's the sub plots/stories that make me question the way the SU and Michael conduct themselves The SU is so far in advance of earth, they can pretty much do what they want and for the first half of the book I understand why they don't. However with an existential threat now looming, they seem to stick with softly, softly approach with earth, when no one in their right mind would. Hopefully book 4 makes more sense
Yes you should read Max Logs. This story of a guy who finds a fourteen thousand year old space ship and part of his mind is used to create a AI is a excellent read. In this book a few of Earths legends come to life. Two are aliens and the other the folks at the South Pole. Excellent story pulled from the Multiverse.
This series keeps getting more and more intense 😲. Now that humanity has tried to kill off each other and failed, it's become the prey of the past 😣. Everything humanity has believed in is going to be shaken to the core 🙀. Thanks again Igor, I'm completely hooked on this story and can't wait to see what happens next 🤓.
The fact that he used Earth's history to instigate thought and speculation. Where did angles and demons come from. And even with advanced information could the violent human race unify and defend itself? Loved it 😀
Looking forward to the next book in the series. I enjoyed the characters in this story and the interaction with others. Hopefully when we find others in this great universe they will be intelligent and peaceful.
Cou!d'nt put it down. Seems totally believable and real!!! Can't wait for the next one!! Mr. Nikolic has wonderful command of words and ideas! Love this series. Feel like I'm experiencing every page!!
