Goblin Quest

Rate this book
Goblin Quest is a tabletop roleplaying game about slapstick violence, fatal ineptitude, and the greatest adventure of your life.. Play five goblins each (in sequence, not parallel) and watch them meet hilarious ends while failing to achieve the most basic tasks.

Will they survive the dangerous world of the Great Battle Camp and avoid the attentions of brutal orcs, murderous bugbears, mean-spirited hobgoblins and scary wizards?

Probably not. But you'll have fun finding out!

I love the central premise here, the comedic set-up of playing a series of goblins (or kobolds, or Sean Beans, etc) who all die, one after the other, on the way to achieving their ridiculous quests. Howitt still hasn't learned how to organise a book; the information is arranged in a baffling and hard-to-refer-to way (Spire flashbacks).

But the core mechanics seem fine, I'd like to give it a go but perhaps with a little less structure than is advertised. Perhaps that'll blow up in my face, but that seems a very goblin thing to happen anyway.

Very fun to read and to play. The structure of the book makes it hard to reference during play though

The game was a ton of fun and the writing style was quite amusing. However, the information wasn't laid out in the most accessible way.

Very good manual for a really rambunctious fun tabletop roleplaying game. Goblin Quest is great, but the actual rules are just a small part of the booklet. I would recommend just getting the PDF.

What can I say? A simple RPG that even works GM-less. I was looking for something to play with kids, and I think I've found it. Each player take the roles of a clutch of goblins destined to die horribly and hilariously as the blunder into the world. Includes enough options and variants to keep it fresh for a while, and with the right group it gets really ludicrous.

A great game for new or experienced RPG players, adults or children. The additions - and truly inspired - rules hacks change the basic settings and add some interesting mechanics giving the game even greater replayability.
