I hate him...but I also want to touch his abs. Is that normal?
Grace
My boss, the famous romance novelist, always said she’d open doors for me when I finished writing my first book. Only I have...and she hasn’t. Worse, I just met her new brand manager, and I know him.
Enoch “the Suit” Laskin made my life miserable in business school, right up until he seduced me. Then he took an internship with Parker Brand Management, working for my father, the other man I hate.
Enoch is a traitor. He’s a jerk. It’s torture to be around him.
Lucky for me, the Fairy Godmother Agency, a husband and wife P.I. team who help women in dire straits, have offered to make me their next client.
The Suit won’t know what hit him.
Enoch I sold my soul to John Parker, and I still haven’t gotten it back.
Grace thinks I betrayed her. She’s not wrong, but she doesn’t know the full story.
Through a few twists of fate, I’ve become the caretaker of my grumpy father and teenage nephew. I’m determined to prove myself to Grace, and to them, but everything keeps going disastrously wrong.
If I were a more superstitious man, I’d think someone was out to get me.
ANGELA CASELLA lives in Asheville, North Carolina with her husband, her daughter, and their ill-behaved corgi in an extremely small bungalow. She spends her days writing and pretending to market. She writes solo romcoms and also has three co-written series with Denise Grover Swank.
3.5 stars A Stolen Suit is the second book in Angela Casella’s Fairy Godmother Agency series. There was much I enjoyed in this story. Nicole and Damien, the series P.I. Fairy Godmother Machiavellian maneuvering most of all. Anytime Nicole has shown up in a story whether it’s the Bad Luck Club, Highland Hills or this series she’s a lot of fun. I enjoyed the supportive friendship between this story's female protagonist Grace and her BFFs Marni (the 1st book’s protagonist) and Sinclair (the 3rd books protagonist) and Andy (the 4th books protagonist). I enjoyed watching Sinclair gradually and sometimes painfully shed the influence of her narcissistic bitch mother in her own personality as she struggled to find a path forward in her career and reconnect with her sister Marni and her friends. Griffin (the male protagonist from the 1st book) Damien and Enoch’s father and nephew were good secondary characters. If I’m being totally honest despite the fact that he plays a much bigger role as Rafe’s father in the next book “The Broody Bodyguard” the Reggie character’s constantly sticking his nose into private conversations at the bar really began to irk me if not this book’s characters. As much as Grace appeared to be the most innocent of the trio of female protagonists, rarely even uttering a swear word, our male protagonist brought out the wanton sometimes kinky woman in her leading to some steamy sex scenes. The plot was entertaining but didn’t make a whole lot of sense to me. Grace and Enoch had been serious business school competitors for the highest GPA. Grace was a rich girl whose father was a legendary businessman. Grace worked hard for her grades but they still seemed to come easily to her. Future career opportunities working for her father were never in doubt. Enoch came from a poor background. He had to work hard for everything he had. He wore suits to class everyday even though purchasing them was an extreme financial hardship in an attempt to project the image of the successful businessman he hoped to become. As much as Enoch resented Grace for being born with a silver spoon in her mouth he also couldn’t avoid lusting after her in the tight pencil skirts and heels she wore to class. After being assigned to work on a class project together in the final months before graduation, proximity turns these enemies into lovers. Grace reveals her deeply held secrets to Enoch and gives him her V-card. But here’s where for me the story begins to fall apart a little. Or a lot. Grace revealed to Enoch that even though she was #1 in her class she really had no interest in business. She wanted to write romances for a living. Enoch encourages Grace to confront her father and tell him of her desire to be a writer. Her father disparages contemporary romance as smut, and threatens to disown Grace if she follows her dream of writing romance rather than following him into business. Then Enoch tells Grace he has accepted the one open position working for her father. Grace feels betrayed by Enoch. Her heart is shattered. She heads to Ashville taking a job working as a P.A. for her favorite romance author Vera Valentine who promises to mentor her as a budding author. It’s been six years now since Grace walked away from Enoch, her father and Charlotte. All those years she’s nursed a hatred for Enoch, the only man who could set her blood on fire. She’s finally finished her first book based upon her relationship with Enoch and gives it to Vera to critique and help get it published. In the meantime Vera has been gradually changing Grace’s responsibilities from a trusted assistant who among other things gives her input on her writing to performing menial tasks like taking care of her dog. Then Enoch comes to Ashville and one of his chief responsibilities working for her father is to be Vera’s brand manager which puts him in regular contact with Grace. So, here’s my problems with this story. Grace never wanted to work for her cold, bastard of a father working in brand management. So Enoch’s advice to her to follow her dreams was solid whether he took the only spot open to her or not. Then there’s the idea that there was only one spot working for her father open. As his daughter and only child is it even feasible that if he wanted to he couldn’t open another spot for her? Why did Grace even go to business school if she wanted to be a writer? She didn’t want to work in business and she definitely didn’t want to work for her father. With the trust fund her late mother had left her she was financially independent so supporting herself while she honed the craft of being an author was never an issue. Also, because her trust fund made her financially independent why did she continue to work for Vera when their relationship went sour with Vera turning into a cartoonish PG rated Disney villain? Even if she felt the need to continue to work, she certainly didn’t need to work for Vera. It doesn’t say much for Grace that after years of being treated like dirt under Vera’s designer shoes she was still so wrapped up in her early hero worship of her she couldn’t see who Vera really was. Then there was the plot point that her father after six years of absolutely no contact with Grace worked with Vera to get her fired so she had to come to work for him. Again, as her father had to be aware, her trust fund meant she didn’t have to work for anyone, so why did he think she’d suddenly have no choice but to come work for him? Why would he think she would want to after he literally disowned and abandoned her for six years when she refused to do as he wanted? Yeah, I know this is a contemporary romance so everything that advances the story doesn’t have to and doesn’t always make sense. But Grace’s relationships or lack of with Enoch, Vera and her father were the foundation of this story’s plot and so much of it didn’t make sense to me 3.5 stars was the best I could rate this story. Then there’s Enoch and his relationship with Grace. He really wasn’t a bad guy but he really was (thanks to being raised by his mother) an uptight asshole, overly obsessed with professional success and a totally orderly life for much of this story. Even though Grace could barely stand to be in the same room with Enoch, we’re asked to believe that momentarily overcome with lust for him, she allows him to practically fuck her in a public space in Vera’s house. As hot as the scene was it didn’t seem very realistic to me. Yeah, I know, it’s a contemporary romance stupid. In total this was a good story. Lots of romance, some steamy sex, happy feels of family and friendship. Thanks to Nicole and a big, sloppy dog some pretty good laughs. It’s just what I felt was too much in the plot that didn’t make any sense that prevented me from giving it a higher rating.
I enjoyed reading Grace and Enoch's story. It was full of romance, sweet times and soo much fun. I do admit, I laughed so many times that I can't even count them on. The best one for me was the case with Enoch suit 🤣🤣🤣.
Considering this the side characters were so awesome and introduced soo nicely. I loved them all.
And now the main couple - even though Grace was hurt in the past by Enoch, you can definately see that she still have feelings, but she doesn't want to admit them even to herself. It is the same with Enoch. He never stopped thinking about her. The sexy times between them were really really nice 🔥.
We did had a proper amount of drama that thankfully was not only quickly finished and of course we do have a happy ending.
***I received an advanced reader copy of this book from Grey's Promo and this is my voluntary review.***
The Fairy Godmother Agency series is full of fun. This installment is about Grace and Enoch, who had a huge rift separate them six years ago. Gracie wants nothing more than for Enoch to leave town and not look back-but that’s not his plan. This is where Nicole and Damien come in. I love the way they approach “helping” their friends! I laughed so hard at Nicole’s schemes. This one is pretty spicy when things heat up! I am a fan of stories when we friends help each other and the good guys outwit the villain. Looking forward to the next book in this series.
I felt bad for Grace for a lot of this book. You knew what Vera was doing, not sure why Grace couldn't see it. So I was glad when Grace's friends enlisted Nicole and Damien's help. Those 2 are a menace at times, but usually good for those that need it. I really didn't like Enoch at the start, but slowly he won me over. I was glad that he came clean with Grace and company, even though I did like how Nicole tormented him.
This one worked out great, those that needed to go down did, and our couple got a very happy ending on many fronts.
I just can't get over how awful Nicole is. She seems to be as bad as Grace's dad. Those stupid pranks weren't funny and for her own enjoyment rather than actually completing the task she was given.
Grace's character makes no sense. She's smart enough to be in the top of her class at business school, emotionally aware enough to write a book about her experience, but lacks an ounce of introspection and critical thinking to realize Enoch pushed her to do what was best for her.
Enoch is a solid character, and Andy is more likable in this book than the first one. Damien, at least up to 63%, is less Nicole's lackey this book which was nice. I dislike both Richard and Remi because they knew Dana was invading Enoch's privacy and bullying him. They just let it slide because they felt it was what Enoch needed and liked Dana. Why was this guy turning his life upside down for these ungrateful people?
I tried to finish the book, but I disliked so many of the characters that it was no longer worth it.

Nicole and Damien go all out for their friends. Their newest case? Helping Grace with her ex. After he betrayed her and stole her position with her sleazy father, she's hated him. So why's the man in her town trying to get on her good side? Well, no matter, because she certainly won't be giving him a second chance, and Nicole and Damien won't be making it easy on Enoch. That forgiveness? Whatever it is he wants from her, he won't be getting. He certainly won't be getting her heart...
Enoch knew back then that he'd just signed his soul over to evil. But now he's back and Grace is in his sights. Will she ever forgive him? Give him a second chance, at redemption, at winning over her heart? It might be easier if there weren't two people after him for some reason.
I love this series! Damien and Nicole are up to their usual zany shenanigans and I laughed my ass off each time they thwarted Enoch's plans. Grace is the heart, but equally so is Enoch. For a man who did such an unthinkable thing before, he sure is a sweetheart. But it's a good thing, because Grace only deserved all things good. I love these two, the humor, the heart, and their insane chemistry.
ARC provided by Grey's Promotions for an honest review.
This is the second book in the Fairy Godmother Agency series. This one follows Grace, who we met in the first book, seeing she is best friends with Marnie and Enoch who we also met in the first book briefly.
Grace works for the famous Romance author, Vera Valentine, and Enoch is now her muse. Grace is upset with Enoch for what he has done in the past, including basically stealing a job with her father, right from under her. Now she wants revenge so she hires Nicole and Damien to do just that.
I really liked this one and the characters. I loved that we got to see characters from the previous book. Nicole is still hysterical and up to her usual mischief. Reggie makes appearances and is still involved with the shenanigans. I loved the new characters. Especially Remi and Udolpho!
I cannot wait to see what happens in the next book!
I want to thank The Smuthood and Angela Casella for letting me be a part of this tour.
I was fortunate enough to receive an ARC for A Stolen Suit by Angela Casella and I loved it! I absolutely adore the way Angela writes, it truly captivates you the entire time you’re reading. This book is a standalone within an interconnected series, so characters from the first book are present.
A Stolen Suit focuses on the point of view of both Grace and Enoch. Grace is an aspiring romance author who is working as a personal assistant to a famous author. Enoch is a businessman who is working for Grace’s father, in a position that Grace believes he stole from her. The two met in business school where they were academic rivals. They spent an incredible weekend together, but their romance quickly ended when Enoch betrayed Grace. Years later, Enoch plants himself back into Grace’s life to prove himself to her, but the Fairy Godmother Agency has other plans for him.
I found myself laughing a lot throughout this book! The pranks that were played on Enoch were amazing. I was also drawn to all of the characters, including the side characters who weren’t as present. Each character had a lot of depth to them, which made the book so hard to put down. There was some spice in the book, which just made it that much better!
I genuinely cannot wait to read the next book in the series!
Thank you to Grey’s Promotions for sending me an ARC!
This is the second book in this series, and this is Grace and Enoch’s story. Grace is working as a PA for a famous romance author who made promises that she has not fulfilled, and when she hires a new brand manager, in walks Enoch, her arch enemy. Enoch made Grace’s life miserable when they were in business school, and then he went to work for her estranged father, who she hates as well. These two have a history, and Grace decides it is time for a little payback, and the Fairy Godmother Agency takes her on as a client. Enoch has his life full with becoming a caretaker for his grumpy father, and teenage nephew, plus nothing is going right in his life. This is a well written highly entertaining story, with enemies / lovers’, witty banter, humor, family, friendships, emotions, and love, which leads to a fun and compelling page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
This is a fun series. The Fairy Godmothers are a couple who are PIs with financial resources to help out people who are in some kind of situation. They help each person for free, often on the gray side of the law, and when they’re done the recipient nominates the next person they help. In this book, it’s Grace, who was screwed over by her college boyfriend.
Typically I don’t like second chance novels, which generally have a lot of flashbacks and/or treat what happened in the past like a big reveal that’s usually underwhelming. This book stays in the present and you know exactly what he did. You find out some of the details later, but you know the gist of it early on.
The characters have to work through some of their issues and figure out their priorities but there isn’t a big 3AB.
Dnf. I couldn't get through this book. I didn't like the characters or the plot. I didn't like how how the characters interacted with each other. I didn't like how obvious things were. I didn't like how petty things were. And a certain scene gave me the ick. Nope. This book made me question if I really did enjoy the first book or not so much that I decided to dnf the whole series.

I got an ARC copy and was excited to read it. Most of my reads are dark with a lot of triggers so to get a chance to change up a bit and read a rom-com I jumped at the chance. It was so refreshing, feel good fun read, I had so many laugh out loud moments.
Enoch and Grace were rivals in business school. Paired up for a project, time shared, one thing led to another. Having them giving in to the chemistry and attraction they both fought. Sharing more about themselves, their dreams, wishes and goals..a turn of events forced Enoch to make a decision. A decision that made Grace believe that Enoch betrayed her..turning to her father, the man that disowned her. Moving on, living her life trying to reach her dream for six years. Grace is now P.A for a famous writer, her ideal even.
So when Enoch comes back into her life as the new publicist for her boss under the father’s company no less. Grace wants him gone. She will not be betrayed again. But Enoch wants to fix things. He hasn’t moved on from Grace. She signs up with her friends to help her get Enoch to move. But what if her truth is not the real truth about what happened? What if she misunderstood Enoch? Can they give themselves another chance at love?
Will Enoch give up his career with her father’s family for Grace? What is her scheming boss up to? I had fun reading this book. Couldn’t put it down. Laugh after laugh with giggles in between. My first book by this author and I can not wait for the next book and have the previous ones on my tbr!! I love Enoch and everything he does for his family. But listennn..that dirty mouth on him. I enjoy a confident alpha male with a soft spot. The supporting characters were a riot and I absolutely loved it. Nicole is a nutcase lol. Damien is just as fun.
Reggie lol always caught up in the gossip..love it. How the supportive friends and the family unit with the story. I can not thank the author enough for the arc..didn’t realize how much I needed a good laugh.
I received a free copy of this book directly from the author and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
I disliked this book so much i made a goodreads account just to vent about it. I put it down after chapter 11.
This story made me hate Nicole, who was honestly my favorite from the previous book, and Damien by association/for enabling her. The whole point of their “job” is that they’re supposed to be PI’s who help women get their agency back, but Nicole seems deeply disinterested in actually helping Grace. Instead, she delights in petty, vindictive bullying & gaslighting that is as unpleasant to think about as it is unenjoyable to read. The book forces you as the reader to first hand experience the “pranks” she pulls on Enoch as they all take place during his pov. I think, even though they’re not funny, creating some distance and having Nicole just tell Grace her antics could have made this so much more stomachable, but instead Grace is completely shut out of the plans and then told the bare bones of what happens after the fact. Its clear she’s not really gaining much by Nicoles machinations. Grace also point blank asks Nicole to stop terrorizing Enoch, to which Nicole tells her you can’t fire someone you dont pay- which is CRAZY to me!! Of course Grace reacts like a doormat but its actually insane that she just… wants to meddle in this woman’s life for fun. It just proves that Nicole literally does not care about Grace, her wishes or her AGENCY, she only cares about quite literally getting off on being awful to people who it seems she’s done very little actual investigating of.
Im just really disappointed honestly. I enjoyed so much how the first book was about getting Marnie’s life back on track. Having a boyfriend wasn’t even the main focus, it was finding out who wronged her and finding closure. Not to spoil too much from that one, but some of the closure isn’t even about revenge, just understanding and clarity. This book is just pure revenge without the investigating, the question asking or, up until I read, the closure seeking. There is no empowerment here. There’s a guy who has messed up like a human sometimes does, a pushover of a woman who though described as intelligent, can’t seem to understand when people are taking advantage of her (both her boss and nicole), and a vindictive and petty vigilante with a fetish for humiliating people. Bad.

3.5 ⭐This is the fifth book I’ve read by Angela Casella, and her stories definitely feel like rom-coms in the best way. I first met Nicole and Damien (from The Fairy Godmother Agency) in The Love Fixers, but I haven’t read their love story yet. At this point, they’ve been in all five books I’ve read, and I feel like I already know so much about them. Maybe I’ll circle back to their story one day, but for now, it feels like too far a step backward.
Angela Casella’s books are just plain fun. Her characters feel real, the drama is believable, and there’s always a that happy ending, we want. The humor and witty banter are great (I love good banter), with just enough spice to make things interesting. These books don’t emotionally wreck me, which is honestly perfect when I just need something lighthearted and entertaining.
As for this book, Enoch character felt very believable, especially his longing for Gracie. I loved getting to meet Enoch's family and seeing the found family Gracie had built around her.
That said, I wish the book had included a proper conversation between Gracie and her dad. Without giving away spoilers, it felt like we were set up for her to finally put him in his place, but it just never happened. There’s an event near the end that touches on this dynamic, but it wasn’t the one-on-one resolution I was hoping for.
I also wanted a bit more emotional depth between Enoch and Gracie. They had one big scene with an intimate, heartfelt conversation, but I feel like there was room for more of those moments.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book. It was lighthearted, fun, and had enough depth to keep me hooked. I’ll definitely continue the series and am looking forward to Sinclair’s enemies-to-lovers story next!
It's reading slapstick comedy!! The Fairy Godmother Agency strikes again and it's hilarious!!
When Nicole and Damien decide to help out Grace Donnelly with her problem, her ex who is now living in her town and basically haunting her after six years, they take her case to...well....cause him some strife...that's the best way to put it. It's basically hilarious and best read to find out exactly everything that happens to Enoch, but is it really fair once you know his story? Sure, every ex needs just a little strife in their life.
Grace has been working as a PA for a romance author for the past six years, instead of doing, one...working in business, which is what her degree is in or two...being a published author herself. Call Enoch surprised when he rolls into town and talks to her again, but especially when she won't talk to him. It's been six years and he did sort of take her job, but she wanted to write books, so call him perplexed...really, really perplexed.
Enoch Laskin is in town working with Grace's employer, helping her rebrand her image, but he also his his own reasons for taking the job and they might all revolve around his old flame. Poor Enoch and his all the karma coming his way....he's sweet and extremely good natured, with a cremudgend father and adorable, can I still say adorable when they are sixteen, nephew living with him.
Actually all of the secondary characters are fantastic and bring the comedy to life. A Stolen Suit is fun, light, and just all around will bring a smile to your face. Pick up this second chance, laugh out loud romance for pure reading enjoyment.
I was excited for Grace and Enoch’s story and it does not disappoint. They’re enemies turned lovers turned super-enemies so there’s a lot of history. She thinks he’s the devil and he just wishes it wasn’t so close to the truth where Grace is concerned. He wants to make amends but she wants to make him suffer so enter The Fairy Godmother Agency. Nicole dives right in to make Enoch’s life hell and quickly succeeds before Grace realizes maybe he isn’t as bad as she thought. Maybe he’s not even the real enemy here.
There are lots of twists and turns with Grace’s crazy boss, eccentric romance author Vera Valentine, plus Grace’s estranged dad and how he affects their lives. I love the author’s writing style and can always count on her books to make me laugh out loud. The characters are easy to love and I hang on every word. Her books are the kind you just can’t put down.
This one was also notable because it gave us more Damien than the others and we all want more Damien, just admit it. And hello, has anyone started a petition requesting the portrait reveal yet? We need to see Vera’s fave shot of Enoch and Damien at the fountain. Grace and Enoch’s story is funny, sweet and steamy and a definite must-read for any romance lover.
This rom-com has it all: enemies to lovers vibes, second-chance romance, a unique play on Cinderella, laugh-out-loud funny scenes, sexy times, plus lots of poignant moments. Gracie and Enoch (yes, that’s his name, and it’s the only thing I didn’t like about this book) are now one of my favorite couples. Our two main characters were classmates and rivals in business school, until one weekend of passion made them more than that. But then, from Grace’s perspective, Enoch betrayed her. And now he’s back in her life, and our Fairy Godmother agency has decided to punish him on Grace’s behalf. But things aren’t always that black and white, and it quickly becomes clear that they are going after the wrong villain.
I loved all the funny Nicole moments in this book. Whenever she is on the page, I am probably laughing. I also loved Enoch’s relationship with his nephew. How can you resist a man who loves his family that much? And I also loved the Cinderella story being turned on its head. At first you think Grace is our stand-in for Cinderella, but she isn’t the one who needs saving at the end of the day, which I appreciated. I also loved the chemistry between Grace and Enoch. One of the best things about second-chance romance books is that we don’t have to wade through the awkward getting to know you phase. So, once the enemies turn to lovers, the fact that they care so deeply for each other is completely believable. Looking forward to the next couple in this series, although I would have predicted one half of that couple to be different until I read the epilogue of this book. Just goes to show that things aren’t always what they seem!.
I loved Grace and Enoch’s enemies to lovers, second chance romance with a side of betrayal and chaos. It had a wonderful mix of sweet, spicy, and real life issues as shown through the eyes of two relatable scarred but not broken characters. In my opinion, for an enemies to lovers story to work, the author has to straddle a fine line of sexy animosity without tipping into meanness or abuse. This was done perfectly with Grace and Enoch. Their chemistry sizzled off the page and it pulled them together no matter how hard they tried to resist. Grace is a personal assistant to Veronica Valentine, a well known romance writer. She is hoping that Vera will help her get her debut romance novel published but lately she’s mostly performing menial tasks. Enoch is a brand manager who has moved to town and opened an office partly to serve Vera. He lives with his disabled father and teenaged nephew. Enoch and Grace were rivals in business school and he betrayed her so she is very annoyed that he’s back in her life. Grace is friends with Nicole and Damien who are PIs but they also run the Fairy Godmother Agency who help wronged women. Grace is their next project. They’re determined to help her get back at Enoch. The journey to Grace and Enoch’s HEA is full of Nicole chaos and angst but it’s also full of big feels, baggage unpacking, inner voice finding, and life course correction. This well written story is a feel good read and includes engaging dialogue, characters with depth, and a storyline that’s easy to fall into with the added bonus of quirky and hilarious side characters. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
"I'm a little in awe, a little aggravated, and a little, well, wet." If this quote doesn't summarize how I feel after finishing Grace and Enoch's story, nothing will. Well except maybe the aggravated part since I wasn't aggravated by the end. ;)
Grace is an aspiring author who happens to work for an author that she idolizes, but what happens when you find out that everything you thought to be true is really just a lie? Enoch is a brand manager who wants to start his own company, but is unfortunately under the thumb of a very despicable man. This man just happens to be Grace's father. Together they work towards bringing the truth to light and making both of their lives better. Grace and Enoch are 2 people who started off as enemies, formed a very brief friendship, became enemies again, to finally finding their happily ever after. But that's not to say it was an easy road for them to get there. Their chemistry is off the chart once they finally stop giving the other blue balls (or lady blue balls respectively).
I love this series, maybe even more so than the original series that precedes it. It's witty, funny, and I find myself not being able to put it down. Nicole and Damian are the 2 most improbable people to head the Fairy Godmother Agency and with them you can pretty much guarantee that chaos will ensue. But I think that's what makes them so perfect for the job. I truly can't wait to see what happens in the next installment! I won't name who the next agency victimcandidate, is so I don't spoil it for anyone. ;)
Only the second book I've read by Angela Casella (the first being the previous book in this series) and she has definitely secured me as a fan.
I really enjoyed the first book (A Borrowed Boyfriend) but loved this one even more.
It is pretty much the perfect light read - just the right mix of romance, sex, suspense, relationship and life.
Enoch and Gracie are the absolute epitome of "it's complicated" because it IS complicated. They both have so many ties on their lives that tug at them and pull them away from each other, yet still maintain that strong tie between themselves that just won't let go.
This book has you wondering not only if they will end up together but how it might even be possible and what it will mean for them and their lives if they somehow do manage it.
The book is full of characters that are both likeable and relatable - the kind of book that leaves you feeling like you want to find this bar and go down there to meet them all because you really want to be part of that friend group. These guys may be unorthodox in their methods, but they totally have each other's backs.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Am I glad I read it - yes Was it a waste of my time - no Would I sit down and read it all over again - I definitely could. Would I read more by this author based on this book - yes, I would really love to get my hands on the next one in this series.
The second book in the Fairy Godmother Agency series is about Grace and Enoch as Marnie had named Grace as her nomination for the next woman who needed help in her story. They went to business school together and were fighting it out to be the person at the top of their class. A professor had them work on a project together and they became close for a very short time. Grace had told him her deepest secret - that she wanted to be a romance writer. He convinced her to tell her father (a shrewd businessman) and follow her dreams. Shortly after Grace told him, he hired Enoch and disowned her. Enoch still works for her father and Grace works for Vera, a romance writer, who basically has her doing chores. Enoch ends up moving to Asheville with his nephew and father to be the brand manager for Vera.
I absolutely love the relationships in this book! Not just between Grace and Enoch, but also between all of their secondary characters. Enoch's nephew calls him "Uncle Knock," which is incredibly endearing (and helped me pronounce his name). I love how over the top ridiculous some of the scenes are, especially when Nicole and Damien get involved in helping. And the sex scenes are always pretty steamy...even when lady blue balls are involved. I am so excited for this series to continue - I'm going to need them to expand their social circles so they have more ladies to nominate for help!.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
A fantastic romcom from Angela R. Casella and the second book in the Fairy Godmother Agency series. For me A Stolen Suit is even better than the first book as Grace’s fairy godmothers aim their proverbial wands in the direction of her dastardly ex Enoch Larkin, the man who broke her heart when they were students, to wreck their vengeance on him… well mess with his life at the very least. From the glimpse we got of Enoch in the previous book I’d already decided he deserved everything that was headed his way but by the end I was feeling sorry for him. His poor suits! Talk about hitting a man where it hurts and he wasn’t even the enemy in this story. But never mind, in all the best fairytales you get three wishes, so Team Grace decided to turn their collective sights on the real villain of the piece.
This was a slow burn, second chance romance between two people who parted over a lack of communication between them. From the sounds of it, they didn’t really talk much about their lives. The story itself flows well with several amusing incidents. It is a bit slapstick with Damien and especially Nicole, who I think is the brains of the outfit, having way too much fun taking revenge on people but I can’t wait to see what they do for their next client. I’ll be happy to read more in this series.
Loved Grace & Enoch's story! This has been my favorite so far in the Fair Godmother Agency! If you love a second/enemies to lovers book this book is for you! Lots of awesome banter between these two as well as great chemistry! Highly recommend!
When I tell you I IMMEDIATELY went and downloaded this ARC when I saw it was available...
Grace is an aspiring writer, working for her idol, a well-loved romance author. She's working well below her worth as a personal assistant and this author isn't exactly the sweetest. As Grace is in the process of contemplating her job choice, the author hires Enoch, the man that talked Grace out of taking a job with her father right after business school and ended up taking the position instead. What is he doing there and how can she make him leave?!
As we know, the Fairy Godmother Agency series is like a well-trusted rom-com, so I think you can see where this duo is going. Think "Enemies to lovers". However, this book also includes Nicole and Damian so you KNOW you're going to laugh out loud at their shenanigans. Beyond that, there's also a pretty big scandal going on that gives the book some more plot.
I love each and every one of these spin-offs and I really hope this series continues on. It's so fun to see more of Nicole and Damian's unconventional ways of changing people's lives. Highly, HIGHLY recommend A Stolen Suit. Do you need to read the first book in the series first? Not necessarily. These are stand alone novels that are intertwined into a series. So, run, don't walk, to get this book!
Grace Donnelly has always dreamed of being an author, but she’s afraid to put the novel she poured her heart and soul into out there, especially once Enoch Laskin, the man who inspired it, waltzes back into her life. Grace never thought she’d have to see Enoch again, and now that they’re working together, she doesn’t know whether she should be angry or if she should cry. Enoch is as annoyingly attractive as ever, even if his attitude doesn’t always match it. Yet somehow, Grace can’t make herself stay away from him, and he doesn’t seem to want to stay away from her either. Maybe there’s more to their story than she could’ve ever dreamed…
Okay, so when I saw that there was a new book in the Fairy Godmother Agency series, I knew I had to read it. I definitely wasn’t disappointed!!! Enoch and Grace’s love story is enemies to lovers at it’s finest; this book was filled with witty banter, agonizing angst, heart wrenching emotion, and sinfully hot steam. I loved how much Enoch and Grace’s relationship develops over the course of the novel as they unwittingly break down each other’s walls and let the other see the person behind the mask. I also really admired Enoch’s devotion to his father and his nephew, as well as Grace’s sassy personality and sharp wit. They truly were perfect for each other, even when they didn’t want to admit it. I completely recommend!!!
Well, I think this is my favourite from the books in the Fairy Godmother Agency series! Angela Casella has a way to write scenes that are both funny and endearing. I found myself with an aching heart for both Grace and Enoch in the beginning of the story and I love that they get their happily ever after. (I don’t think this can count as a spoiler, can it? It’s a rom com after all).
The best part of the book though, and the entire series, is the tales of friendships beteween characters. The self made families of friends and the deep care and loyalty between the recurring characters is such a great backdrop to the love stories.
Enoch’s family is lovely - I love that his 16 years old nephew still calls him uncle Knock! - and the deep friendships are so comforting. Because it’s bantering and comfort as well as annoyance and arguments, but when push comes to shove they have each other’s backs. I love that. Damien & Nicole are like forces of nature and, much like Enoch, I didn’t immediately like them very much when they first appeared in the series. But I do love them now, and I guess Enoch does too.
Now I’m waiting for the next part of the series!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Well this is an absolutely adorable idea for a series. This is the second book in the series, but the characters were presented in a way that didn’t make me feel like I was missing anything to read the story. The only thing it did was make me want to go read the prior book as quick as I can! This series is called The Fairy Godmother Agency. Basically the premise is that a man was driven a substantial sum of money when his grandmother passed, and he and his wife take on side projects to make people’s wishes come true.
Grace is working towards her dream. She’s the assistant for a famous author of romance books, who said she would help mentor her with writing her own book. Sure, was disowned by her dad for not wanting to join his brand marketing company after business school. Sure, she turned him down after Enoch convinced her she should go after her dreams. She might be a little desperate for help now that she saw Enoch in town (she may have moved 2 hours away). Did she mention the Enoch took the job her dad wanted her to take? Her clearly used her to get what he wanted, she should have known better. Good thing she has a fairy godmother to help run him out of here before he messes up her life, again.
I enjoyed this one, but didn't love it. I wasn't a fan of Grace and her letting Vera run over her. I mean I would have been outta there months ago had my job description changed as drastically as it did for her. She came off as a huge pushover without a backbone and I couldn't get on board with that.
I liked Enoch. I wanted to hate him given he works for Grace's dad and how things ended between Grace/Enoch in college. But I couldn't hate the guy once we got to know him. He had a big heart, was incredibly smart, was passionate and was there for his dad and nephew when they needed him.
Vera is definitely the villain we know she'll be in this one. And Grace's dad isn't much better, although he doesn't make an appearance until the end. My biggest complaint is that the situations with them kind of end abruptly in the book. There was so much build up to the final showdown that it all ended a little too neatly. There didn't seem to be enough repercussions to satisfy my need for justice.
I read another book a couple weeks ago with a similar storyline related to the situation with Vera in this one (Her Secret by Penelope Bloom). It was a little confusing at first when I kept thinking 'I've read this recently.' :-)
Honestly, 2.5 ⭐️ is all I can manage for this one. I only finished it because I spent the money on it, or I'd have DNF'd it pretty quickly.
"Dana"/Nicole is disgusting and I think it says a lot about Gracie for not putting her foot down when she found out about the fact that her friend literally intentionally made Enoch sick and destroyed his expensive suits. Gracie was not only stupid, but weak. Playing maid for someone she gave her book to, without any self respect or thought that this vulture wasn't her friend and (predictably) would steal her book? Why is she so angry about her and Enoch's school days without ever talking to him about it, and then got angry and upset when he wanted to leave after finding out she was in on it all.
Enoch was a dick once in awhile, but hey at least he was sexy and tried to do all the right things. For Damien or anyone else to fuck with him and blame him for the shit that happened in his life was his own fault? Bullshit. How is it sexist he didn’t want to take 300k from her? The only good things about this book were the plot, Pumpkin (who should have been brought to a new home) and Euolpho the dogs, Sinclair, and the spicy scenes.
