❌❗️⚠️SPOILER WARNING! ❌❗️⚠️

I was expecting to DNF this as I was pretty sure MMC would not be celibate during separation but boy was I wrong! He totally stayed faithful for the 2+ years they were separated!

🫸SPOILER WARNING! Do NOT read any further if you want to read it!🫷

The story is about an older MMC (in his early 40's I think?) who is a Surgeon and very grumpy & closed off because he doesn't have a good family life. His parent's (his Father in particular is one sick puppy..) and is not too keen on love & HEA - until that is he meets FMC and everything changes for him.

For the first half of the story, we get how MCs met and got together. FMC is a 20 something who is broke & has no family except for a very close BFF who I loved because of her support & love for the FMC.

FMC was working for his Grandmother to take care of her when she & Hero met. There's a bit of a misunderstanding in the beginning but once that is quickly cleared up and they get together - until she gets kidnapped by his sicko Father & someone else that I won't spoil it for anyone wishing to read it as the suspense of who was behind her kidnapping is pretty much the major plot.

Anyway, FMC was described as very beautiful which attracted a lot of un-wanted attention from men. One of them being from MMC's sicko Father.

FMC gets kidnapped just when MMC was about to propose and MMC spent 2 years looking for her until he sees pictures of her with his Dad on a yacht and assumes she is a gold digger who conned & used him.

FMC ends up escaping but is hurt and loses her memory. Her BFF saves her and brings her home. Hero finds out she is back and decides to get his revenge so that he can move on from her - only we never really see any revenge happen because he admits he is never going to get over her. His plan was to get her out of his system and then move on to someone else. This part I didn't like but I understood his thinking and it was immediately forgotten once they reunited.....

Anyway, for the rest half of the story is them getting back together but what I liked is that FMC is very smart & not a pushover! She made her stand from the start when they first met that he would not use her. She had told him that if/when he started to lose interest in her, she would know and would walk away. Then when they reunited, she knew he was seeking revenge and did not trust or believe that she was kidnapped by his Dad and that she had memory loss. He didn't believe that nothing happened with his Dad or that she wasn't a gold-digger so she told him until there was trust between them, nothing other than sex would happen - maybe.

In the last 15% or so, Hero starts changing when he finally learns the truth and starts becoming the man she deserves. The Dad & the other kidnapper get a satisfying ending and MCs have their HEA with marriage & babies.

The next book is about FMC's BFF with the Hero being the one who rescued this heroine and delivered justice to her kidnappers. I will be skipping that one because he is a vigilante killer and that is not my thing.

My thoughts: The first half, before she gets kidnapped that is, was very boring as nothing happens other then them having sex and not knowing how they supposedly fell in love with each other. I was pretty much skimming at that point. The second half was better because the MCs finally had some personality but character development was lacking here because they never talked to one another to learn about who they are as individuals and so on. So don't expect much depth here because the writing isn't going to win any Pulitzer prize awards.

Also, there were so many characters, and especially some that just went by a single letter name that confused the heck out of me. Spelling mistakes and grammar here & there that a good proof reader could have helped.

Overall, it wasn't a bad read but I can see that this may not be for everyone as there were too many running sentences and a lot of unnecessary dialogue that could have been better incorporated if author had just developed the main MCs better and build up their relationship and showing it to us instead of telling us. But as always, I give more stars when authors give us celibacy over non. 😁

Safety:

Virgin FMC/ former manho MMC but no history given.
No cheating
No OP scenes
No Rape
No OW - some OM drama in the form of the baddies who kidnapped her but FMC has no interest in them at all.
HEA - marriage and several years later with kids.

DNF at 37%

Unfortunately, the overall writing and the dialogue needs work. After a certain point, I was sticking it out just to see how the romance portion was, but there wasn't any real chemistry between the main characters either

I was hopeful because I've read some medical romances lately, and I liked the blurb for this book, but it just didn't hit the mark for me

If @lemoynebooks writes it, you can guarantee that I will read it. I’m loving this new series, and I already can’t wait to see what comes next!

Arrogant and Merciless is the second book in the Gods in White series. This book is an age gap, opposites attract, second chance, amnesia romance between Taylor and William.

Taylor has a rough time in this book, and I felt for her the whole time. But I love that even when she’s going through it, she’s a fighter through and through. She has no problem saying what she thinks, even when those things may be considered combative, because she’s speaking her truth, and I really admire that about her. But she also gives herself the grace to be human and grieve for a life she didn’t get to live. And that made her relationship with William that much sweeter, because he happily spoils her and dotes on her, and we all deserve a love like that, even when we have trouble believing it.

Just like all of @lemoynebooks men I’ve read so far, I loved William from the start. I love when the hero can’t get enough of his woman, and that is William. He knows what he wants, and not only does he pursue those things, he craves them, just like he does Taylor. Even when he’s confused and hurting and furious, even when he tells himself repeatedly that he’s done with her, he knows he’ll never love anyone the way he loves her. He is obsessed with her in the best way, and he does not tolerate anyone threatening his woman. Seriously, if you love an obsessed hero, please pick up this book, it will be one of the best decisions you ever make.

Thank you so much to @lemoynebooks and @theauthor.agency for my arc! Arrogant and Merciless is now available in KU💗

I loved this, I almost read it in one sitting, I was about to go to bed and suffering from one more chapter syndrome, and then my kindle died on me :(. Anyways, I love a good doctor romance! And this one was darker than I expected, with some themes of kidnapping. Started off like a normal kind of enemies to lovers, or lust to love. She’s his grandmother's maid? So some work romance there. There’s that push and pull that comes with the lust to love trope. And then halfway through we hit a serious curveball. I was so confused at first, and was confused all the way until the end. Let’s just say that Williams' whole family is freaking crazy. There’s a whole time skip, and we get to the second chance and amnesia parts. The whole time I’m just like “oh my gosh stop being so stubborn!” and yelling at them. Even though I was so frustrated reading this, I could not stop crying and I needed to know what happened next. I have mixed feelings about the ending, how they handled the first antagonist is satisfying, but I wanted them to get their justice on the second. William I love him, he’s a man confused and in love. Taylor is a great fmc, she’s got that fire in her. This book was amazing and I give it a 4.5/5

I swear I fall in love more and more with the world that D.A. has created. I absolutely love the references to Greek Mythology but also the references and seeing other characters from other stories that we have grown to love. These books keep my attention and I devour them. I literally devoured this book in just a few short hours. I could not put it down. I could not wait to see what happened next. The twist and turns were fantastic. You never knew all the answers but you could tell the revelations, once revealed would leave you reeling. I did not expect the big twist in the story but I knew that it had to be something that neither knew was lurking with the way things were playing out. William was like Athanasios in a lot of ways but also different too. They both loved their jobs and did not leave much for their regular lives. William is the top of his field. He is ruthless and arrogant. He is a walking red flag but in all the best ways. Then the one woman that had the power to bring down his carefully crafted life shows up and shakes up his whole foundation. These women are fighters and they never let the men treat them less than what they deserve. Taylor is no exception to the rules. She is put through the trauma ringer but she never gives up and she never stops fighting. She tames William in ways that he never knew he had. I absolutely love them together. The author gave us glimpses of future books and I cannot wait for it. I love all her books and I cannot wait for more.

This author is such a talented writer and this is another great book. The main character William is a highly successful plastic surgeon, he's rich, handsome and can have any woman he wants. But he has only wanted physical connections until he meets the beautiful Taylor. He can see himself wanting more of a future with her, but then she disappears. He searches for her for a year and she turns up again with amnesia. Of course, he jumps to the wrong conclusions about her and her possible motives. This was such a thick plot with lots of twists and turns . The storyline definitely keeps you guessing and keeps you turning pages. I highly recommend this book.

This is the second book in this impressive series, and this is William and Taylor’s story.
William is an obsessive, seductive, and cold hearted, plastic surgeon, while Taylor is hardworking, and gave up her dreams to take care of her ailing father, and now alone, she longs for a loving family,
This is a well written story, which has family, friendships, emotions, angst, drama, secrets, suspense, amnesia, revenge, opposites attract, an age gap, forced proximity, unexpected twists, determination, revelations, and love, which leads to an entertaining, and unpredictable, captivating page turner.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

Wonderful Story!

What an amazing story, William and Taylor’s storyline was something else. He was a well known surgeon and Taylor’s family was something else. They both went through a lot and I am glad they ended up together. This series is awesome.

It started out great...

So, I have to tell you. I really loved the book, but the last 25% of the book kind of blew it and caused the star rating to go down considerably for me.

Let me start with the inconsistencies with Taylor's memories. One minute, she can't remember her father, and the next, she's saying she's her father's daughter. When she talks about Bonnie, she doesn't remember her, but remembers her being sweet to Maryann. It wasn't that it was a memory flashback either. It was inconsistencies in the story. It happened several times throughout the last 25% of the book. Also, there was a point where she's talking about how they're finally getting married in a few days and describes William in the next sentence as her husband. That took away a lot for me. I am forgiving about grammar and spelling, but when you have significant inconsistencies in your story... it ruins it for me.

The other thing was Taylor. She forgave William but couldn't forgive Maryann. It took her a while to come around but still felt some small resentment. That's not fair. William was something of a jerk for 75% of the book, but she forgave him. I know the author tried to convey that she was still holding herself back from him, but she really wasn't, and I think that's where the author lost me. She didn't make him grovel or work for it. I would have put him through his paces, but nope, she just went ahead and accepted it all.

I was really disappointed. I was really excited to have found a new author, but the inconsistencies really ruined this book for me. I might give another book a chance. We'll see, but I'm not holding my breath.

Taylor fell for the cold, detached grandson of her client, and she really should have known better because William is out for revenge now that she's forgotten him thanks to her amnesia. She really doesn't remember him, but her body does. Too bad her heart is the one going to suffer through William's treatment of her.

William did the one thing he'd never done - fell in love. Unfortunately, the woman he fell for betrayed him. And now she's trying to act as if she really has amnesia and doesn't remember him. Well he's going to wreak his vengeance on her then let her go. At least that's the plan...

Drama! So much drama. Angst. A seriously cold, unfeeling asshole, and a much younger, much more innocent woman. Whew, it's like reading a telenovela! I have to admit that unlike in The Arrogant's Surrender, I did not like the hero here. But I can safely give 4 stars because Taylor is a great heroine. She's smart, strong, and makes William work for her forgiveness and a second chance. This series has been good for entertainment, chemistry, awesome heroines and morally gray heroes. Can't wait for the next installment now.

Arrogant & Merciless by D.A. Lemoyne, the second book in the Gods in White series, is a gripping and intense romance that explores themes of obsession, betrayal, and second chances. This story is led by William Randolph Marshall IV, a world-renowned plastic surgeon with an emotionally cold exterior, and Taylor Jarvis, a hardworking woman who has been through unimaginable hardships. Their reunion is charged with passion, pain, and the remnants of a love that was once lost.

William is a man who seemingly has it all: wealth, status, and the admiration of his peers. But despite his success, he’s emotionally distant, unable to form lasting attachments, especially when it comes to relationships. He lives for the thrill of physical satisfaction without any emotional connection. His life is one of control and detachment — that is, until he meets Taylor.

Taylor, a selfless woman who sacrificed her dreams for her father’s care, is now determined to rebuild her life. When fate brings her face-to-face with William, the chemistry between them is undeniable. However, their connection is complicated by the past and the pain that both carry. William harbors deep resentment after believing that Taylor betrayed him, and he’s bent on making her pay for the hurt he experienced. But as their paths cross again, both are forced to confront their unresolved feelings and the truths that have been buried for far too long.

The plot is packed with twists and tension, as Taylor fights to reclaim the life that was taken from her and William grapples with his feelings of betrayal. Their journey is one of intense emotional conflict, with William’s need for control clashing against the undeniable pull of his feelings for Taylor. Both characters are complex and flawed, making their chemistry explosive and their interactions riveting.

D.A. Lemoyne crafts a story full of fiery passion, hidden enemies, and emotional vulnerability. Arrogant & Merciless is a story about forgiveness, trust, and the power of love to overcome even the deepest of wounds. The novel will keep readers on the edge of their seats, eager to see whether Taylor and William can rebuild their relationship or if the past will destroy any chance of reconciliation.

In conclusion, Arrogant & Merciless is an emotional, steamy romance with a powerful narrative about love, loss, and the pain that comes with it. Fans of intense, character-driven stories with complex relationships and steamy tension will find this book impossible to put down. With its perfect mix of passion, drama, and suspense, it’s a must-read for anyone who enjoys a romance that’s as fiery as it is unforgettable.

Absolutely loving the Gods in White series; it is really giving the Kostandis men a run for their money! I’m insanely impressed by these doctors and the women who have captivated them.

Arrogant and Merciless is a second-chance romance between William and Taylor; it is an intense, suspenseful ride filled with heartbreak, unexpected twists, and undeniable chemistry. William, a cold and calculated surgeon, has spent years shutting himself off from emotion, prioritizing logic and control above all else. Taylor, on the other hand, is his opposite—young, warm, and fiercely compassionate, with a heart that refuses to harden despite the pain she’s endured. Their age gap only adds to the tension between them, but nothing compares to the devastating obstacles they face when fate takes a cruel turn.

Taylor is kidnapped, her life thrown into chaos, and when she’s finally found, she’s not the same—her memories are shattered, leaving behind gaps that William is desperate to fill. He is forced to confront his past with her, but she no longer remembers the love, the pain, or the betrayal that defined them. While Taylor struggles to piece together her own identity, William fights to earn her trust all over again. The connection between them is undeniable, but lingering secrets, a touch of revenge, and the haunting question of what truly happened while Taylor was missing threaten to destroy them before they even have a chance.

What begins as a second chance laced with longing quickly morphs into something darker, as the mystery surrounding Taylor’s disappearance unravels, revealing devastating truths that neither of them were prepared for. William must choose between maintaining control or risking everything for her, while Taylor must decide if trusting him again is worth the danger that still lurks in the shadows.

With high-stakes suspense, scorching tension, and a love story that twists and turns until the very last page, it is the perfect book for readers who crave angst, redemption, plot twists like no other, and heart-wrenching romance that refuses to take the easy path.

A huge thank you to D.A. Lemoyne and the Author Agency for the early copy!

If I didn’t love D.A. Lemoyne’s stories so much, this one would have sent me searching for more—and it did! I’ve read all the English ones I could find; the rest are in Spanish, Portuguese, and maybe Italian. Anyway, I was excited about all the bonus books at the end of this one and book #3 in the "Gods in White" series. We catch glimpses of some Greek characters from other stories, but the main ones—Odin, Beau, and now L.—are the type who cut to the chase when something happens to your loved one. Whether you know what happened or need help finding out, they’re there to help you and deliver the revenge you seek.

These books completely captivate me, and I devour them in hours. This one was no exception—I couldn’t put it down. The twists and turns were incredible, keeping me guessing until the big revelations that left me stunned. I didn’t see the major twist coming, but with how things were unfolding, I knew it had to be something unexpected. William reminded me of Athanasios in some ways but was also his own person. Both are deeply dedicated to their work, leaving little room for personal lives. William, though, is at the top of his game—ruthless, arrogant, and a walking red flag, but in the best possible way.
Dr. William Randolph Marshall IV—what a name to carry in this tale. Dr. William encounters Taylor Jarvis unexpectedly while she's bathing in his grandmother MaryAnn's house, where she worked as a caretaker. Caught in an awkward yet bold moment, she’s unashamed, and he jumps to the wrong conclusion, assuming she’s one of his father’s mistresses. The truth is far from it, but this story unfolds into a gripping journey filled with lies, secrets, betrayals, and plenty of angst. A happily ever after awaits, but only after navigating the twists and turns of Taylor and Dr. William’s complex relationship. I loved, loved this book. I would highly recommend this story.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ — A Telenovela in Book Form, with a Side of Grey’s Anatomy Spice

Arrogant and Merciless by D.A. Lemoyne is exactly what it promises: high drama, hot doctors, fiery emotions, and more twists than a daytime soap. If you’re into stories that read like a telenovela collided with Grey’s Anatomy, this one’s calling your name.

William Randolph Marshall IV (yes, that name) is the very definition of a morally gray, arrogant, cold as ice surgeon who hides his trauma and emotional vacancy behind his surgical mask and billionaire bank account. He’s obsessive, possessive, and 100% determined to punish the woman who once made him feel something… even though she doesn’t even remember him.

Enter Taylor Jarvis. She is sweet, self-sacrificing, and trying to start over after losing everything. When fate throws them back together (forced proximity alert!), William thinks it’s time for revenge. But what starts as a second chance romance wrapped in bitterness turns into something much deeper, especially as secrets unravel and the past refuses to stay buried.

Let’s be honest... the writing isn't going to win awards, and sometimes the pacing is all over the place. But Arrogant and Merciless knows what it is and doesn’t pretend otherwise. It’s over the top, dramatic, steamy, and entertaining as hell. Think: amnesia, revenge, billionaire angst, doctor drama, age gap tension, and that slow burn payoff we all live for. Plus, there's a surprise twist that adds just the right amount of shock value.

If you’re in the mood for something quick, spicy, and drama packed, this is a solid weekend binge. It’s book two in the Gods in White series but works as a standalone, though you will want to know what happens next.

Thank you to The Author Agency and D.A. Lemoyne for the eARC of this book.

MYSTERIES ABOUND
Taylor Jarvis wants to put her future in focus after spending years as her dad's caregiver. She has just turned 23 years old and is considering attending nursing school. Broke, Taylor is working several jobs, and that’s where she meets Doctor William Marshall IV. She is one of the caregivers for the Marshall Matriarch. Her other job is as a night waitress in a crappy bar.
Taylor is gorgeous (inside and outside), and it seems every man who sees her wants her, and that puts her in terrible danger because some won’t take no, and some just take. Taylor is somewhat innocent because she spent many years caring for her ill father, a former police officer. In this story, we see that Taylor is a magnet for trouble. William, the Doctor, at first thinks she’s a money grabber, but when he’s set straight, he’s very attracted to her…he wants her. His father, William III, is entirely evil and wants her to. So many horrible things happen to Taylor, it’s hard to believe... hard to read.
William the Doctor thought they had a relationship, but when Taylor disappears, he’s devastated, thinking the worst has happened to her. He searches for her, even hires Private detectives, but after a while, he gives up; he takes the attitude that she wasn’t the person he thought she was. A year later, he sees a picture of Taylor on a yacht with his father, and she’s his fiancée! William IV is devastated, but when Taylor is rescued, the entire story unravels, and it’s unbelievable. Taylor has been through hell. This story never lets up. So many bad guys and girls. Taylor and William do get a happy ending, thank God. Good story, but my head's still spinning. Linda

Arrogant and Merciless is the second book of the Gods in White series and follows renowned plastic surgeon William Randolph Marshall IV and the caretaker for his grandmother, 22 year old Taylor Jarvis. This is an age gap, morally grey alpha male dark romance. William meets Taylor in a vulnerable way when he walks in on her naked and showering in his grandmother’s home. He immediately accuses her of being his father’s mistress and insults the innocent girl. Taylor goes off on him for making these accusations and finds him to be arrogant. He is instantly attracted to Taylor and decides to pursue her until she succumbs to his advances. Their fling was quick and most of the time William is showing his distrust for people especially when it comes to people around his father. She ended up being kidnapped and was injured during her escape months later causing amnesia. Taylor has no memories prior to waking up in a hospital and a man saying he knows her and they were together. Turned out to be William’s father who has isolated her from anyone that may trigger some memories. As usual William immediately jumps to conclusions about Taylor and it isn’t until she’s safely back home that he finally starts breaking down his walls and trusting her. William at times is infuriating because Taylor has always been open and honest with him but he puts past experiences over what the woman he loves is saying. In the end he realized his faults and our morally grey man allows Taylor in to his heart.

William Randolph Marshall IV is a Surgeon and one of the Gods in White. He is Obsessive and driven and has little time for a relationship. When he meets his grandmother’s caregivver/companion, the 22 year old Taylor, she makes him change his rules and consider a future. But when Taylor disappears and is found over a year later with his father, and he crashes out. He vows revenge and basically believes every horrible thing he imagined about her.

This book!! William IV is your typical alpha bachelor who falls hard and fast for Taylor but the difference is that his obsession causes him to make the worst decisions. Taylor is not your typical meek 22 year old. She gives as good as she gets from William IV and their road is rocky and bumpy even before she disappears. William IV obsessively searches for her for more than a year, but when confronted with photos, he understandably jumps to the wrong conclusions, then he vows revenge starting with Taylor. He didn’t count on the fact that his need for Taylor is greater than his vow of revenge. There is so much going on in this story you won’t want it to end. There is mystery, suspense, intrigue, revenge and of course all the spice. I have read several books by D.A. Lemoyne and this one might be one of my favorites. William’s love was so overpowering he went from vowing revenge on Taylor to vowing to find the truth then get revenge for Taylor. Great read.

3.5 This story at times read as a poorly cast reality show/day time soap opera that was overly dramatic. I really like this author and initially liked how William and Taylor's story began and then felt that it went off the rails when the story splintered off into so many directions. The concept of combining a mystery in a highly charged sexual attraction between and older man and a younger woman was a good one, until it wasn't.

In my opinion, the story lost steam when Taylor shows up after a lengthy disappearance with no memory. William immediately resorts to a plot to seek his revenge from Taylor for leaving him without really having actual facts to support his beliefs. Yes, there were some staged strange occurrences, but it takes him the entire book to figure that "nothing is what it seems". When so much of it becomes personal, then you see a different William emerge. It takes a long time before William takes a deep dive into his own family's involvement before the truth behind Taylor's disappearance, kidnapping, imprisonment and near death experience is revealed.

Taylor is the strong character in this story as she battles unknown forces and people that use her merely to get to William. Everything that happens to Taylor is because of her affair with William. I wonder if she had known what was ahead for her, if she would have entered into a sexual affair with William or gone running for the hills.

The Gods in White series returns with Arrogant and Merciless complete with a hero who lives up to the title. William Randolph Marshall, the arrogance literally drips off every syllable of his name and that’s before you add the ‘IV’, I was predisposed to dislike this character before I even read this book and William more than met my expectations with his god complex. He came across as being quite petty and almost childlike in his reactions to the possibility that Taylor might not have wanted to worship at the altar of his greatness. He couldn’t or wouldn’t comprehend that things may have been taken out of her control. A huge part of me hoped that Taylor who was desperate to love and be loved would run as fast as she could or at least find some Mr Average to settle down with but then again what a boring story that would make for. As it is Taylor has amnesia and has lost all memory of William, not that he believes her so he sets out to make her pay for making him care.

In all honesty this just felt a little too daytime soap opera. William was almost a pantomime baddie and Taylor; well, she was a bit of a Pollyanna who was always going to forgive him no matter what he did. I will admit he did do good grovelling but not enough to change my mind about him.

D.A. Lemoyne wrote another great read with her 2nd book in the God's in White series Arrogant and Merciless. This was a 4-star book with a nice taste of spice, nothing crazy just nicely done.
Taylor and William make a beautiful couple that you watch go through the struggles of what life throws at them, to hopefully come out in the end with HEA.
William our MMC, is a member of three doctors that run a hospital and each one has a speciality that makes them special and of course arrogant. William is a control freak and has a past that makes his reasons for it so much more understanding. While sometimes, I wanted to slap him for being a dick, I also had a soft spot in my heart for him.
Taylor, our FMC is a strong independent woman who while young and inexperienced, knows what she likes and what is important to her. She is a sentimental woman who loves the simple things in her life.
This story takes William and Taylor through many trials and tribulations to try and hopefully come out the other side together. Betrayal, family angst, stolen time, music, books, and cupcakes make this story interesting, exciting, and so much more.
This is a MUST read, especially if you have already read book 1 Arrogant's Surrender.
Happy Reading! 😊

I absolutely love reading books by D. A. Lemoyne. Her ability to craft intricate stories with jaw-dropping plot twists and unexpected revelations is truly captivating. This book was no different. It has interesting storyline and complex main characters. William is cynical, arrogant, ruthless and possessive. But under all that he is sweet, caring, protective and loving. I adored Taylor’s character. She is smart, talented, caring and an amazing human. She didn’t shy away from putting William in his place and definitely made him work for her. It was admirable how she kept her wits in adverse situation and relied on her gut instincts to guide her. Together they make a beautiful couple who brings out the best in each other. Their relationship was tested when things went south but when truth was revealed, things slowly settled down and their relationship thrived. I throughly enjoyed this book and its characters and can’t wait for the next book in this series.

I am a big lover of suspenseful romances. D.A. Lemoyne writes some really good suspenseful books. This one in particular really turned up that suspense angle for me!
This is the story of William and Taylor. William is a well regarded plastic surgeon who specializes in burn victims. He meets Taylor when going to visit his grandmother. Taylor is her companion/aide. William takes a bit to warm up to. He’s a cold, methodical doctor who isn’t particularly looking to fall in love. Taylor is a strong willed woman who won’t bow down to William no matter how hot or rich he may be. She’s not looking to be another plaything.
Their attraction is very intense. There’s good chemistry between the two. However there is quite a bit of suspicion and in distrust.
What I loved about the book: the suspense angle of who is watching Taylor. There is quite a bit of angst in this story and there are times I was gutted for Taylor.
I also loved the evolution of William from cold and conservative to a full blown beating heart for Taylor. His redemption really humanizes him.
Pick up this book for the great combination of romance and mystery. You will love the plot twist!

Arrogant & Merciless by D.A. Lemoyne is a scorching second-chance romance laced with betrayal, obsession, and emotional warfare. William cold, controlled, and ruthless never expected the woman who broke him to walk back into his life. But Taylor isn’t the same girl who left. She’s stronger, bolder, and ready to fight for the life she lost.
Their chemistry? Explosive.
Their past? Messy.
Their journey? Addictive.
Every page drips with angst, secrets, and tension that’ll have you flipping pages like your life depends on it. If you’re into emotionally damaged heroes, fierce heroines, and second chances that burn, this one’s for you. Raw. Riveting. Unputdownable.
This book doesn’t just tell a story it sets it on fire.

loved loved loved the book
The way how characters are made are actually such a good reflection of reality . A guy whose father has had a history of infidelity isn't supposed to be not cynical , a woman who is self made and has been a daughter of a police officer isn't supposed to be naive or a supposed damsel in distress . And the layers of misunderstandings and pull towards each other is so so so thin the parchmentised relationship starts getting clear with time and it's not a spot on thing it took time it took effort it took loss of control and it took relationships .
The plot felt straight out of a drama that could be made into a movie or series combining all the gods in white of coarse 👀👀👀 sneakily wanting this wish to be true . The author made a commendable job with drawing the outlines and story vividly . Also the climax goes oh la la !!!!!!!! Awaiting to know who "L" is why I feel I know but let that be a secret 😉 .

Rating: 3.5 rounded to 4 stars

D.A. Lemoyne's books feel a lot like watching telenovelas - you not only get a romance story, but also a lot (and I mean A LOT) of side drama, angst, suspense and in all is served in a rather OTT way. And I'm here for it! I like to take a break from more "realistic" reads and dive into a fiction like that. It's pure entertainment. Especially, when it also involves alpha book boyfriends who fall hard and would do anything for their women.
However, after reading most of the books in the Greeks' series, I had a very strong déjà vu feeling, while reading this one. Most of the suspenseful/angsty events happened in previous books and it felt repetitive at times.
That being said, if this is your first book by this author or if you're starting with the Gods in White series and you like a heavy dose of drama and OTT-ness in your books - you're in for a treat.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

“He thinks I walked away without looking back. Now I’ve returned — and this time, he’s determined to be the one in control.”

REVIEW ;
- If you’re looking for a telenovela meets grey’s anatomy with some spice, this is the book for you! This book brings the drama, hot doctors, fiery emotions, & some thrown in twist & turns. Every page has raw emotion, secrets, angst, & tension that you’ll be eager to get to the next page. Taylor comes back a strong, bolder, & is ready to fight for the life that she lost. William is cold, controlled, & ruthless (doctors am I right? Lol). Their pass is messy, their chemistry is undeniable, & their journey is addictive. I didn’t realize this was book 2 in a series so best believe I’ll be reading the first one this weekend!

The second installment of this series is going to follow Taylor and William.

Taylor was a strong woman but sacrificed everything she'd dreamt to help her ailing father. William is morally gray, arrogant and emotionless surgeon holding so much trauma from his past.

Part of that past, is the woman he will be faced with again, who brought him so much pain, but she doesn't even remember it. He's bound to get revenge on the one who made him so cold.

This is over the top, steamy, emotional and entertaining. Twists and turns and time lapses will have you pacing for me. If you are wanting a passion hidden enemies, emotional vulnerability and a quick read, this is for you!

Can Taylor and William rekindle a relationship after each has endured so much, or will they be bound stay Arrogant and Merciless.

This book started out great and the sexual tension between William & Taylor was palpable. But the plot was very chaotic and in the first half, I could only feel lust between them. The second half was kind of better but I wanted William to grovel more. All the side characters (except William's friends and Jackie) were vile and disgusting and everytime there was something new revealed about the crimes they committed, I was shocked because I thought it can't get any worse than this. The pacing of the book was all over the place, there were inconsistencies and continuity errors too, and the romance build up between William & Taylor was disappointing. Maybe, if their relationship was more solid and focused on, I would've loved the book, smh.

What is it about the Amnesia Trope? There aren’t too many out there, or I have challenges finding them. But I’m so glad I found Arrogant and Merciless. I have several books by D.A. Lemoyne on my TBR, and there are plenty to choose from. Do I read a series in order? No. Luckily, the Gods in White series is an interconnected standalones series which works for me. I like messy, angsty, and lots of miscommunication because I want to feel it all. I want to feel frustration. William, no matter how angry he was, couldn’t deny his true feelings for Taylor. The spice was rockin’ from the beginning. I liked the way the author wrote the spice scenes. I will definitely be checking out the other books in the series.
