Physician and healthcare provider burnout is a nation crisis.
Providers are frustrated, exhausted, bitter, and resentful. They are discouraged by how they are commoditized and devalued by the healthcare system. Too many are fearful, feeling hopeless, depressed, and even suicidal. Relationship with family and friends are in jeopardy. Why is practicing medicine and trying to help patients so difficult? But our cries for help largely go unnoticed. The "system" acknowledges the problem, but very few have meaningful solutions.
Waiting for others to fix healthcare and to positively impact your burnout is not a good strategy.
Fist The Prescription for Physician Burnout provides practical solutions to implement and ways of thinking that will inspire and motivate.

Good book on the burnout crisis. It brings to light the issues that plagues the healthcare field. The solutions are wide and many but the author only mentions ones an individual can handle.

A of introspection and changes of mindset is needed to overcome burnout. I will try to change my mindset when it comes to medicine.
