I just finished listening to Once He Takes by Molly Black, book 3 of her series.
While I found the story to be gripping and well-narrated, I couldn't help but notice some repetitive elements still from her previous books that echoed the author's previous works in the series. As someone who typically enjoys longer books, I felt that this installment was rushed and left me wanting more depth and development in the plot and characters.
Although the series shows promise, I'm inclined to give this audiobook a 4.1 review, as I believe there is room for improvement. I'm eagerly anticipating the budding romance between Agent Claire and Agent Mark, and I hope to see more progress in their relationship in the upcoming books. Additionally, I am eager for the resolution of the ongoing struggle to catch the elusive serial killer that has evaded capture thus far.
Despite my reservations, I am willing to give the series another chance by listening to book 4. However, if the issues of repetitiveness and rushed storytelling persist, I may have to reconsider continuing with the series. I hope for more depth and complexity in the future installments.
Overall, Once He Takes is an engaging listen, but I'm eagerly anticipating more substantial development in the upcoming books.
I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review. I really had my ups and downs with this book but in the end i enjoyed it. i like the use of medium type abilities to solve crimes .The villain being angry ll the time was a bit tiresome. but the process of catching and other parts of the storyline got it the 4 star rating
I read this book and I’m not sure of what happened, but I just couldn’t connect with this book. The characters and the plot was interesting, but in some parts of the book I felt that the book stalled a few times. I lost my excitement of reading the book.
In book three Claire is still using he unconventional visions to help solve crimes. Lots of twists and turns to keep you devouring this face paced book.
Series getting better and getting to understand Claire and her gift better. This particular narration had a lot of background 'clunks' throughout so a little distracting
