One wedding, one fake relationship, and a threat no one saw coming.
Attending a wedding is dead last on Fiona Lock’s list of priorities. She has two options: stay home and let the family gossip mill speculate on why she isn’t there; or attend the wedding and pretend she’s just fine. The decision is obvious. Not only does she choose option B…she may have mentioned a boyfriend she doesn’t have. With the nuptials imminent, the race is on to find her “perfect man” who doesn’t exist.
When he’s not running the security business he owns with his friends, ex-Marine Callum Thomas spends his down time indulging in his favorite hobby—reading. Of course, it’s not just the books luring him to the library every other day. It’s also the sexy, sassy librarian, Fiona, who can’t resist putting Callum in his place at every turn. When he discovers she’s in need of a fake boyfriend, he’s determined to claim the role…and then slowly, cautiously win over the prickly woman he can’t get out of his head.
His plans are quickly disrupted when Fiona starts receiving threats, drastically speeding up his timeline. Callum knows any distance between him and Fiona is no longer an option. Letting her out of his sights could mean danger creeping in…and potentially losing Fiona before she’s even his to claim.
Australian Romantic Suspense Author, Nyssa Kathryn, is a passionate reader and writer of all things romance. Living in South Australia with her hubby and daughter, when she's not spending time with the family, she's either plotting her next story or got her head stuck in a book.

The heroine:Fiona - her sister was getting married to the man that broke Fiona’s heart and Fiona promised months ago that she was going to bring a date. Her sister didn’t believe her, so when they talked recently, Fiona doubled down on her lie and now she is stuck trying to find someone to take along. Fiona works at the Cradle Mountain library. She works for a grumpy boss who wasn’t too happy with her after she turned him down for a date.
The Hero:Callum - he is a former Marine, special operations, who was kidnapped and forced to be a test subject in a research project to create super soldiers. He and his eight-man team were held for over two years and now that they are free, they have started a security firm called Blue Halo Security in Cradle Mountain Idaho. They do private security and also take on off-the-books government contracts to do things that normal human teams cannot get done.
The Story: Fiona has a huge crush on Callum, who came by the library often. One day when she was lamenting to her coworker about needing a boyfriend, Callum walked into the library and overheard her. She knew he had enhanced hearing (as well as eyesight, speed, strength, and more) so she knew he heard her woes. Fiona was scared of getting her heart broken again, so she told herself nothing could ever happen between her and Callum. Callum was attracted to Fiona and a month ago when Fiona was held at gunpoint and the man was shot in the head right next to her, he had determined to take her out, and with her needing a date, he thought it was the perfect time to ask.
Fiona’s story was a good one. She was getting threatened over text messages and thought someone had been breaking into her house. Not to mention her crazy family. Her sister slept with Fiona’s ex while they were still together and was now marrying him. It wasn’t apparent who her stalker was since there were a bunch of suspects in this story, so the suspense was pretty good. The romance was good as well. I loved the way Callum was so protective of Fiona.
This audiobook was done in dual points of view via dual narration and was narrated by Teddy Hamilton and Stella Hunter. They are both fantastic narrators with great voices. They are both great at doing different voices for different characters. They both sound natural and not like they are reading; both are very expressive. They are two of my favorite narrators and you can always count on them to do a terrific job.
Callum is an avid reader and as such visit a the library in a regular basis. He also really likes to see the librarian Fiona. Fiona has no clue Callum is interested in her but she is waiting for Mr ba!d, short, and fat because he will not cheat.
When her sister Amanda starts pushing for a plus one name to her wedding to Fiona's ex she is stuck. Callum is good to be that name.
When Fiona's world is turned upside down Callum steps in to help her once again. As the friendship deepens so does the intimacy of their relationship. Now with Blue Halos help she will find the truth and all people in her life who have wronged her. Hopefully she can make it out in one piece.
Callum of course you love but I fell for Fiona. She has been through so much already with her sister and boyfriend cheating to finding out huge secrets from her life. Strong and loving through all of it.
Lots of chemistry between these two and a good plot set up with her needing a fake boyfriend to get her asshat sister off her case for the wedding to Fiona's former fiancee.
Then... the whole thing kind of just goes off the rails and becomes tooo much.
We have her ADOPTIVE SISTER who hates her because she was an interloper and she's a narsisstic asshat. The FIANCEE who sleeps with her sister while engaged to Fiona then becomes obsessed with Fiona after marrying the sister, lol..... The COUSIN who sleeps with the ex-fiancee and sister's husband by this point then Stacey proceeds to stalk/harass Fiona through texts. And last but definitely not least, the TWIN LOST BIRTH SISTER who wants to take Fiona's life over and make Fiona pay the cost for money that Olivia borrowed then didnt pay back followed by stealing Fiona's current life in the same way.
It all becomes just a bit much and honestly if I was Fiona I'd never TRUST another woman again. Those Blue Halo women would not have made fast friends with her because every single woman who Fiona relied on and loved, including her adoptive mother, betrayed her.
And what's with all the knocks to the head. There's a serious condition from having so many taps on the noggin and she would NOT have missed out on going to the hospital if she lost consciousness, which she did on two of those instances. That's a huge warning sign of serious trauma to the brain.
Other than that, the guys had an interesting backstory. The writing and interactions, though farfetched were engaging and dialogue consistent across characters.
This is the first book I've read outside of the Reckless Series which is after this series concludes. I came to read Liam's story since the men in that series were Nyla's brothers and both Nyla and Liam made an appearance in those books. Not sure if I'll buy the others to read or not.

This one was so different than what I expected. All I can say is bravo. Such a shocking twist that you’ll never see it coming. Ms Kathryn never disappoints and always comes up with fresh exciting stories.
Callum was one of eight men who ran Blue Halo Security here in Cradle Mountain. They were all former military. All huge, and beautiful, and dangerous—in more ways than one.
He’s had his eyes on her for a while now just waiting for a chance. When she needs a date for her sisters wedding he volunteers.
Third row…that’s where Mr. Million Feet of Muscle stood.
“Fiona” has been burned before and doesn’t want to take another chance again. Callum is not giving up. When she is threatened hi is there to protect her.
“Good. Because I like being your growly protector.”
If you haven’t tried this author before you are truly missing out. Alpha heroes who will do anything to protect the women they love. Enhanced soldiers , faster, stronger form a security team like no other.
This book was wild ride. I thought it was going to be a simple, frenemies to lovers with a stalker type of vibe. Man this book went everywhere. The FMC whole life is a lie and no one can be trusted. This was wild!!! The story as a whole, was very well written. Just be prepared that nothing is as it seems.
I love that Callum is a reader and visits the library. And he meets the love-of- his-life-librarian while she hands him his ass because he abuses the books a bit too hard while they are in his care.
Now, I know that all these books have been so over the top with the women in danger. But how many concussions does a lady have to get before she gets brain damage? Omg!!! I feel like there's a 2 minimum concussion per book. MINIMUM!!! And this book? The twists in the story? I was getting dizzy just following along!
With that said.....I am loving this series and I am now heartbroken I have to wait 6 days to read Liam's book.
seriously?😒 MAJOR SPOILERS. Do not read if you don’t want to know everything! * * * * * * *
First. I WAS liking this book. Loved the librarian angle for Fiona. Loved that Callum loves to read her book recommendations. Loved the fake dating angle.
Then the second half 😠
Please know I’m good with suspending disbelief bec it’s a book. That’s kinda what you do when reading fiction. But come on! I’ve complained before about drama that keeps happening that it gets tiresome. The last book that annoyed me with soooo many drama elements was Athica Lane. This book did the same. Exact. Thing.
Fiona (MFC) sister is a total bitch…. She slept with Fiona’s boyfriend Freddie and THEN after Fiona broke up with him, her sister and Freddie get engaged. Alright, ok, that was the catalyst for Fiona moving to cradle mountain and starting over. She moves, starts getting horrible texts. Then things escalate and it’s apparent someone is targeting Fiona. Gotta have the drama cause it’s a romantic suspense- check. Good so far. The female neighbor of MMC (Callum) is a snot- ok that was a red herring and I’ll accept it and not be upset. Good job there for the author. I’m still doing good!
Then it takes a turn. Turns out Fiona has a twin, Olivia, she didn’t know about. It’s a whole nother thing about how they didn’t know about each other. Anyways the twin was psycho and impersonates Fiona in an effort to take over her life. That’s not all. When not impersonating Fiona to the people who don’t know her as well (practice makes perfect) she has another alter ego as the best friend who works in the library with Fiona (disguised of course, bec … yeah -sigh-) But wait, there’s more. Turns out it wasn’t the psycho twin Olivia OR the snotty female neighbor sending the nasty texts to Fiona… it was her cousin Stacey. Who through the entire story seemed like a really great, solid person in Fiona’s life. Guess not 🙄 Why was Stacey sending horrible, harassing texts? Bec she was also sleeping with the nasty ex Freddie! I mean seriously: WHY?!?! What purpose did that serve for the author to also throw Stacey on the pile of horrible people in Fiona’s life? Having a douche ex, shitty adopted sister and psycho twin sister wasn’t enough?!? I really wanted to toss my kindle when that unnecessary ‘plot twist’ occurred.
I started skimming at around 80 or 85%. I don’t even know how to count all that. Stacey’s betrayal is one. Does the twin thing count as one drama point as a whole or as three different things? Freddie sleeping with the sister AND the cousin …. Oh! Plus deciding he was going to kidnap Fiona … is that again one whole drama point for him or three?
I have a headache

Nyssa Kathryn has a great balance of romance and suspense. The outside obstacles and danger ratchet up the tension but the characters also have personal growth. I really liked Callum and his gentle persistence with Fiona. I enjoy books with a lot of angst and toxic chemistry but sometimes it’s nice to read about a hero who is just a genuinely good man. On to the last book and I don’t want it to end!
👯♀️📚I really hate when a sibling marries another sibling's ex and the whole family supports it and in this case it wasn't even ex, direct cheating. I never understood why said member always has to be okay with the situation. At least in this book they kinda get their karma.
👯♀️📚I really hate when the author pull a "forgot my phone at _______" in a dire situation. Plzzzz! ✋ No one does that.
👯♀️📚They could have caught Olivia through Freddie.
👯♀️📚It would have been amazing if I didn't realize the exact moment Olivia stepped as Fiona. I was on the look out cause I wanted this to happen.
👯♀️📚So apparently no fmc can have a decent girl on her corner outside the inner circle. The author had to make Stacey a bitch as well? That was unnecessary and came outta nowhere. It's like the author's afterthought to give Amber her own medicine.
👯♀️📚The twists were unexpected. I was really surprised. The suspense execution was okay. Has some cheesyness to it which I dislike but expected here. Enjoyed the first half more.

LOVED IT! Unexpected twists and turns and shocking betrayals coat the pages of this amazing story. I am so there for the growly alpha protector with a sweet side and Callum has it all in spades!
Poor Fiona can’t seem to catch a break when it comes to her choices and relationships with men. Her last relationship broke her heart and ended in disaster and has her questioning everything she thought she wanted. Now she has to find a plus one for her sister’s wedding or admit defeat and tell everyone she made up a boyfriend. Knowing she will never live down the gossip if she declines, she accepts Callum’s offer. When she starts receiving threats and other unnerving things occur, she’s glad for her protector at her side. Shocking revelations are made as she and Callum start digging for answers and they both realize there’s more danger than they thought and how unprepared they were for the threat.
Callum is such a sweetheart and his alpha growly tendencies are so good. He’s been attracted to Fiona for a while; something about her just draws him in. Along with owning a security company with his friends, the former Marine is also a book lover. He makes a point to frequent the local library on certain days after a certain sexy librarian puts up the weekly recommend book list reads. Getting a glimpse of her isn’t a hardship either. Overhearing her on the phone saying she needs a fake boyfriend as a plus one for her sister’s wedding, he’s definitely willing to volunteer. He’s hoping some one-on-one time with the prickly beauty will soften her to his charms. Just when he thinks he’s making headway, danger comes for Fiona. He’s all in to protect the woman who has come to mean so much in such a short time but what happens when the danger is closer than anyone anticipated and coming from more than one angle?
So much happens in this book and it is edge-of-your-seat goodness! This story also has a well-written storyline, great characters, excitement, danger, suspense, mystery, betrayal, twists and turns, family drama, kidnapping, hot chemistry, humor, snark, and romance. It was nice to catch up with the rest of the gang and also get a glimpse into the next book in the series. Definitely a book not to miss!
Seriously, I’m there for the broody alphas, the bad boy alphas and the hard to love alphas but Callum just has something that makes me melt and TH just made Callum leap out of my earphones. The smooth tenor of his voice really brought the smooth charm out whilst also (when needed) showing his teeth against those who would hurt “his” woman.
I loved how his “thing” with Fi started and how he was definitely the one to fall first. He was so protective of her but also recognised she had her own strength and I laughed out loud at his offer to hold down her ex so she could get her revenge. Fi was a great character, I giggled at her wanting a short fat and bald partner because then he wouldn’t cheat. Well she got Callum instead and boy does he love her! She was just so nice despite all the stuff going on. I really felt for her in the end because it felt like all her family and friends let her down so it was nice to see the Halo WAGS pull her in as one of the gang. SB really had a challenge here because Fi was not in any way, shape or form a walkover but my goodness had she taken hits, and they kept coming in absolutely every way they could, but she was so strong and ful of heart despite this and SB really brought it out so you admired rather than felt sorry for her.
Thought very low angst, the book was twisty towards the end and I thought a few times I’d worked it out but was wrong. More possible villains than an Agatha Christie novel but well wrapped up and a great story.
Loveable characters, exciting storyline and steam for days…what’s not to like here!!
Callum Blue Halo, Book 7 By: Nyssa Kathryn Narrated by: Teddy Hamilton, Stella Hunter
Callum, the tech guy on the Blue Halo team has a crush on Fiona, the librarian. They have an easy banter between the two and the flirting is fun. When he overhears she needs a date for her sister's wedding, he offers to go, and the romance begins. Well, it wasn't supposed to be a romance, but who can resist the charms of Callum? Fiona has a history with the groom, and a bad relationship with her sister, so when she started receiving evil texts, she chalked it up to either a wrong number, or her sister being cruel. But it's not. And they continue to get worse. And situations she is not at start popping up saying she was. There is more going on than meets the eye. Callum has the men on it, and protection over her. But will it be enough? This is truly a suspenseful story! Every time I think I figured out the plot, another twist came in and sent me down another rabbit hole! It's romantic, because these men are off the charts amazing, but the thrills kept coming until the very end! Nyssa Kathryn did it again and had me captivated with this fantastic listen.
Stella Hunter and Teddy Hamilton are the storytellers, and they are incredible together. Hunter gives Fiona a sweet innocence, all her feelings guarded until she melts them away. She creates a strength and gives Fiona the bravery she needs all with nuances in her voices. Hamilton is Callum. Sweet on Fiona, he is so good at the flirting. Then the over-protectiveness comes in and it's all alpha male. Loved these two together and enjoyed their performance.
Two bookworms and a fake relationship that turns into something very real.
Fiona needs a date to her sister's wedding and when Callum overhears her dilemma, he volunteers. But that's when things get strange. The sister that hates her for some unknown reason is marrying Fiona's ex. Fiona's ex still has a thing for her despite the fact that he's getting married. Fiona is getting threatening text messages. Things go missing at her house. She sees something that is impossible at the wedding, then second guesses herself. Callum is more than she expected. Callum is everything.
After the crazy wedding weekend, Callum and Fiona grow closer, falling fast. Fiona is still getting threatening text messages and Callum, being the protective guy he is, uses his hacking skills to dig into things. What he uncovers changes everything for Fiona. Despite his fear of losing her when things escalate, Callum will do everything in his power to protect Fiona until he's tricked into letting his guard down. The guys of Blue Halo Security rally together to save a brother's love.
Callum is the perfect combination of sweet and strong. A true protector at heart, despite what Project Arma had done to him. Fiona is the perfect combination of kind and brave. Both have internal scars, but together they mend what's been broken. The banter between them about his abuse of the library books is fun. Another great read in the Blue Halo series. Sad to see that only one more remains but can't wait for the next book.
This was the perfect mix of romance, suspense and mystery. There were several twists and several villains and some were obvious and a few were not. This was a little different than the other books in this series since Project Arma took a back seat. It was focused on Fiona and the danger she was in instead of rogue Project Arma agents and the fall out from the dismantling of that program.
One thing I love about this series is that once the men of Blue Halo find their match, they never stray. And Callum is the perfect example of this. He fought to win over Fiona, who had been hurt in the past and was determined to keep Callum out. But Callum was not what Fiona expected him to be. He was good looking and fit, but he was also kind and caring and loved a good book.
Callum went as Fiona’s fake boyfriend to her sister’s wedding, but there was very little fake about their relationship. He was so protective of Fiona but still listened and understood her need to have independence. I loved the way he showed his love for Fiona.
Callum and Fiona’s relationship moved quickly, but with everything going on in her life, it made sense. She had a lot of terrible people in her life and Callum helped her come to terms with that. He made her stronger.
This was a fast paced read and was one I read in one sitting. I loved getting to see all the previous couples and getting a little glimpse into the last single man standing, Liam. I can’t wait to see how this series finishes off with his book next!
“When her eyes met his, his gut tightened. Because this woman owned him. Without even trying, she’d claimed him, and in return, he’d claimed her.”
Book 7 in the Blue Halo Series did not disappoint! We get introduced to Fiona at the end of book 6, and immediately realize that there’s a connection between her and Callum. Fiona is the local librarian, and Callum has rediscovered his passion for reading…or maybe just riling up the beautiful librarian. Fiona is in need of a date to her horrible sister’s wedding, and Callum is more than happy to take care of that. Fiona has been badly burned in her past and finds trusting men to be extremely difficult, but Callum is determined and extremely patient. By the end of the weekend she realizes that maybe he’s different and worthy of her trust. But there are those in Fiona’s life that are willing to do anything to take away her happiness. Callum and Fiona’s story is full of emotion, angst, drama and danger. Callum proves time and time again that he’s the kind of man that Fiona can depend of forever. I loved Callum for Fiona. He was sweet, compassionate, funny and totally swoon worthy. This man was all alpha with a delicious cinnamon roll center. And Fiona had such a kind soul and heart that repeatedly got trampled on, but she didn’t let it make her cold and bitter. I loved everything about their story! This book was an excellent addition to this series!
We are back in Cradle Mountain with the men of Blue Halo Security. If you are new to the series, these men were taken against their will. Soldiers dedicated to serve the country who were instead used for an experiment not endorsed by the government. One that made them stronger and faster than the normal person. Against their will and caged, these brave men bounded and once escaping, started a security company. This latest addition to the much loved series , belongs to former Special Ops Marine Callum Thomas. His love of reading has been reignited since the new librarian came to town. Fiona Lock left her hometown to escape the debacle with her former fiance and her sister. She is attracted to Callum, even though he seems to always return the borrowed books a tad tattered. When FIona needs an escort to the wedding of her sister and her ex, Callum volunteers to be her plus one. As the attraction intensifies, so do the nasty texts Fiona is receiving. In the midst of this, Fiona discovers a secret from her past, and likely the reason her sister seems to hate her. The story, though for me a tad farfetched , was entertaining, filled with a whodunit, bad individuals, good hunky ones, and of course, romance. The main characters were strong and wonderful , especially Callum. Though I am still partial to other stories in the series, this one was a very good addition to the series. I was entrusted a copy of this book . The opinions expressed are solely my own.
While this one feels like it’s easily solved, it’s not. Not at all. And how does one end up like Fiona when she’s clearly dealt with some horrid betrayals and awfulness for so long? She still manages to be kind, thoughtful, too nice to hurt anyone with the truth, and utterly alone when it comes to the viciousness supposed loved ones heap on her. Or is she? Because Callum is desperate to be something to her. Even if it means he’s just the fake boyfriend for a wedding, he’ll take it.
Things definitely progress from the fake dating once wedding drama slaps both Fiona and Cal in the face. And if it’s used as the perfect way to spend more time together, so be it. But secrets are begging to be shared, disaster looms, and the possibility that things are even less as they appear to be is becoming more of a certainty. The real question is whether or not Fiona survives this brand of “love”, and if Callum can help her in time.
I felt the misery so clearly as the hits kept coming for Fiona, and I didn’t want to put this book down because of it. She and Callum need to figure out which end is up, and fast, because all the communication in the world may not be enough to best this danger. And I won’t lie. It’s a very close call, more than once. But even those worries just add to why this is such an excellent read. So now I wait to find out how Liam’s story will turn out. I have a feeling it may start with a bang and never stop….
Just what Blue Halo needs, an alpha protector with a soft side and Callum is his name!
There was just something about Fiona that pulled Callum to her. Lucky for him, he enjoys reading books and she works at the library, which makes his TBR list grow more and shrink at the same time! He visits the local library on the days that he is pretty sure she is working or at least after she puts out her weekly book read lists recommendations. Callum, while visiting the library overhears her on the phone saying she needs a fake boyfriend for her sister’s upcoming wedding, and he’s definitely willing to volunteer. He’s hoping some alone time with beautiful librarian will ease some of the walls she has around her.
Poor Fiona can’t catch a break. Her last relationship broke her heart and ended in disaster when she caught her fiancé in bed with her sister. Now she has to find a plus one for her sister’s wedding or admit that she has no one to bring and is as miserable as her sister thinks that she is.
Not only does this book give us the inside to how Callum wins Fiona’s heart but we also see Fiona struggle with threatening text messages that keep coming in. Fiona does accept Callum as her plus one and he might just be able to help her in more ways than just as a fake date!
Nyssa does an incredible job with Callum and I can’t wait to see what happens next!
CALLUM is another awesome romantic suspense Military Read.
Callum is a gorgeous addition to the Blue Halo company of enhanced men, ex-super-soldiers, and an offshoot from Author Nyssa Kathryn’s addictive PROJECT ARMA series. Our heroes are all growly alpha, they fall hard and get possessively protective real quick, and Callum is no different. It might sound all stifling and restrictive, but Ms Kathryn gives the right balance and shows that the guys actions are motivated by love, and give room for their woman’s individuality and need to often do things for themselves.
This is what Fiona struggled with at first. Callum explained it to Fiona perfectly. Yes, he knew she’d be able to deal with issues herself, but she doesn’t ‘need’ to when he is there to do it for her. Chivalrous intent as opposed to a patronising manner, because these blokes are loving and honourable.
I loved everything about their book.
Even with a consistent winning formula, Ms Kathryn still manages to individualise the stories and create an element of suspense surprise which keeps me coming back to her books time and again. Yeap, a very different plotline this time, and I only started to cotton on rather late in the book. CALLUM is full of excitement, action and plenty of heat from beginning to end. It’s all here! 4.5-All-Hot-Action-Stars! 🖤💞✶

𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐮𝐦 is an adrenaline fueled romantic suspense love story that made my heart pound & smile all at once.
Callum is the 𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐅𝐄𝐂𝐓 romance hero. He's patient but determined, protective & possessive without being overbearing, and the man is sweet beyond measure.
Fiona needs rescuing from a family wedding that's beyond complicated, and Callum is more than willing to step up!
These two together created all the heat! They have a connection and fire between them that Fiona tries (𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘧𝘢𝘪𝘭𝘴 𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘢𝘤𝘶𝘭𝘢𝘳𝘭𝘺) to fight. But we all know what happens when one of the MCs puts up that wall. . . Yep, you guessed it! Callum absolutely 𝐒𝐌𝐀𝐒𝐇𝐄𝐒 through it!
Add in some heart-pounding suspense, gorgeous genetically altered super solders(𝘠𝘦𝘴 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵) & a plot twist you'll never see coming, and this is definitely a romance you won't want to miss! I could not recommend it more.

- Fake dating - H 33, h (around same?) - H not dated since moving there, so over a year
Her ex charter on her with the heroines sister, so she moves away and works as a librarian. Hero loves to read, but goes every week to she the heroine, and read all of her recommendations. She needs a fake boyfriend to her sisters wedding with her ex boyfriend, and he volunteers.
Felt so bad for the heroine. So many people from her life treated her so poorly, my heart breaks for her. The hero was so good to her!
Some OWD: - hero’s neighbor is newly divorced and her ex isn’t treating her nicely, so she sometimes asks for halp by the hero. She confronts the heroine in the bathroom one time, is mean. But hero is not interested, he’s nice to her because he feels obligated because of his job as a protector. - Omd: her ex who wants her back, even tho he cheated and married her sister. - Owd with her sister, but not towards the hero
Not quite sure how I feel about the hero. He is really sweet and lovable, but wished we could get one scene where he talked to the neighbor and told her to back off because he wasn’t interested, felt like the neighbor suddenly disappeared, after she said some awful things to the heroine.
And- ‼️and don’t read if you don’t want spoilers‼️ - but that he didn’t understand that it was her twin right away toward the end. He has super powers and could discover that she was a fraud and not “the love of his life”. Thank god he didn’t touch or kiss her!

HEA Standalone, interconnected characters Blue Halo Book 7 *over 18 readers only*

Callum is one of the 8 men who make up Blue Halo Security. A company run by men who had been captured and held, drugged and trained as super soldiers. He has his eye on Fiona, the librarian that was held hostage in the last book. She needs a date to her sister and ex's wedding, and Callum needs time to convince her to be his. But someone is after her. And the messages get more and more threatening. Can Callum get her to tell him what's going on? Can he save her?
I just thought I knew where this book was going, but it took turns and switchbacks like crazy. Every one of these books has been a roller-coaster. I can't wait for Liam's. Until then, I'm going to go read about the men Mila found to help her in Blake's book. These books are more about the drama and the building or fixing of the relationship, and not so much about the sex. There is sex in the book, but it's not a focal point.

Loveable characters, exciting storyline and steam for days…what’s not to like here!!
A bit depressing. Felt like the world was against Fiona. Frustrating at times as loads of it not explained.
Woah I’m seriously depressed after reading that. Why did it feel like everyone was against Fiona? That’s because nearly everyone was!
Fiona is a quiet librarian, who likes reading, whose ex boyfriend is marrying her sister. Callum has liked her for ages so agrees to pretend to be her boyfriend, for her sisters wedding. After Fiona reveals that she’s receiving threatening texts, Callum starts staying with her to protect her. It felt like their whole relationship was rushed and forced as they’re always together to protect her.
As strange things start to happen to her it’s so unbelievably obvious who the baddie is, that it ruins it. As I was waiting for them to figure it out and they didn’t till near the end! Talk about blinkered. As they were so focused on who they thought it was, they completely missed this person. Then there’s the plot mistakes. There’s a glaring mistake that annoyed me.
It definitely isn’t the best one in the series but i did enjoy reading it. I just really really wish that Fiona had someone on her side.
Another terrific story from Nyssa Kathryn and the guys from Blue Halo. Callum was determined to at least get Fiona to pay attention to him and his efforts towards that were great. I liked the connection between the two of them and I really like Fiona. The interaction between the two of them and the rest of the Blue Halo team was great and a fantastic part of the book.
Here's the thing that keeps tripping me up though. Fiona never breaks down. And I'm all for a strong female character but everything that happened to her should have sent her into therapy or at least a really good crying session and instead she just kept going. That bothered me along with all of the times she gets injured. I know that this series is about the guys and being saved by the gorgeous hero but that just bugs me a little bit that she never breaks down.
Story is fantastic, I never saw the plot twist coming (and that REALLY threw me) and the ending was great.
I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.
What an exciting and entertaining story! The romance between Callum and Fiona is terrific but the mystery is top notch. I was hooked from the first page and absorbed until the last page.
This author never ceases to amaze me with her intricate and unpredictable plots. I love how the mystery and suspense takes pride of place in her books with the romance being a parallel part of the story. Both Callum and Fiona are fantastic characters and their chemistry is clear for everyone to see. Everyone, that is, apart from Fiona, who was a tad late to the party. Oh, she thought he was hot but her lack of trust was her blindness.
I don’t want to say too much or it will spoil things for readers, but believe me when I say, this gripping tale will have you scrolling through the pages as quickly as possible to find out what happens. I am in awe of this young author’s writing mastery and look forward to both Erik’s Salvation, the first book in her Beautiful Pieces series, as well as Liam, the last book in this incredible Blue Halo series.
Callum is the seventh book in the Blue Halo series by Nyssa Kathryn. This is Callum and Fiona’s book.
Callum has been interested in the beautiful librarian for a while. When he overhears Fiona saying she needs a fake boyfriend to attend the wedding of her ex-boyfriend to her nasty sister, he’s all in. When he learns about the dangerous text messages, Callum becomes determined to keep Fiona in his life and safe.
There was a lot in this book. The ex-boyfriend and snotty vindictive sister thing would have been enough. Poor Fiona tries so hard to not upset her parents and family and appear to be okay. The terrible text messages and the sender’s identity was something else. But the real threat here caught me completely by surprise. Through everything, Callum is wonderful and supportive. He falls hard for Fiona and she was smart enough to give him a chance and fell just as hard.
As always, the rest of the team is there to support both Callum and Fiona to help keep her safe and to take care of things before it's too late. No spoilers, but prepared for surprises.
I mean DAMN! What a read! Fiona, an obtuse, prim librarian seems rigid and cold, and for some reason Callum, a hunky part owner of Blue Halo Security, can’t get her out of his head. After being there for her after an unsettling event at a local bar, he started to thaw her icy demeanour. Then is there for her when she is stuck between a rock and a hard place of attending her unfavourable sisters wedding to her ex alone, or find last minute date. But odd things start to happen…things are out of place, her ex won’t leave her alone, harassing messages start coming in, and people start treating Fiona different as if she has treated them differently but can’t place when or how. Danger seems to start creeping in on Fiona from all sides. Can Callum help her figure out what’s happening? Will he be able to piece together what’s happening? Or will Fiona fall victim….or suspect to the suspicious things happening around them?
Callum and his feisty librarian, Fiona finally get their story told and it was a doozie. Fiona is a sassy feisty librarian who is quite protective of her books and then she is fighting this attraction that she has to the one particular person that keeps coming into the library, Callum. When she gets herself into predicament Callum saves the day and agrees to be her date to the wedding. This allows them to get to know each other better. Watching them become friends and then have it develop into something more is great. They are such a good match for each other. Of course like any Blue halo novel, Fiona is in danger and Callum will do anything to keep her safe. Through all the twists and turns they find themselves developing and even closer bond as they try to figure out what’s going on. They have such a sassy playful banter with each other that I love so much. I’m so glad that they got their happily ever after. I highly recommend this book.
